“Sheena is amazing! She always keeps me well informed so I never feel unaware of what’s going on. She’s great with Aiko always catering to her needs, like another member of the family. Definitely recommend Sheena, have no doubts she will take great care of your baby like she did mine ❤️”

“Shipley had the best time this weekend. Spoilt rotten with cuddles and playtime. I had plenty of updates with photos which makes us feel better. Would definitely recommend and we will be using them again 😊”

“I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with Karolina.from start to finish Karolina kept me updated with pictures and messages. Ochi seemed very happy at their home, I would definitely leave him again without a doubt. Thank you 😊”

“Dexter had an amazing weekend at Olivia's, he is only 4 months old so is still in his crazy puppy phase but Olivia did a fabulous job of keeping him entertained with walks, games and cuddles. All the photos and videos were brilliant and I could tell he was happy there, he will definitely be going back again.”

“First time leaving Polly with Teresa and John. We had a meet up visit prior to this and we immediately felt at ease. Polly clearly had a lovely time and was very relaxed when we collected her. We have another longer stay planned and it’s reassuring to know she will be loved and well cared for.”

“Emily had a lovely time with Tarnya and her family! Everything about her stay was perfect! She seemed very happy and content and we were sent daily feedback on her progress which was very comforting for both of us. Thank you for a lovely stay and we can highly recommend for any future visits! Thanks again X”

“Looked after Mylo to the highest standard. Was welcoming, lovely and compassionate. I will be using you again to look after Mylo. You catered for his needs and looked after him as if he was your own. I appreciate the short notice and thank you again! 😊”

“Patrycja and Hadley were fantastic, they demonstrated just how much they care for dogs by inviting us round so they can meet nelly and make sure they were the right match. Once they were happy, we filled out the boarding forms, got dates and times arranged and we didn't have to worry about anything leading up to the day. Drop off was easy, very welcoming, checked through all our requirements one more time before we left. The updates and pictures we got from each day really helped us relax on holiday, nelly looked right at home and so happy, very picturesque walks each day and cuddles throughout. Couldn't reccomend them enough, and if we ever need dog boarding again I won't bother looking anywhere else.”

“Jamie and his family cared for my dog Nellie for a week in May. Communication with them was really easy, and I received photographs and written updates regularly which was really reassuring. I will certainly book them again when I need someone to care for her.”

“Barney and Lola had a great time with Nicola and her partner, very waggy tails when collected. Nicola had my two terriers at short notice, kept me updated throughout the stay and was conscientious with asking questions about normal routines etc. Will definitely use Nicola again 100/10!”

“Maria and Andrew are the best! This was Poppy's second time with them and she knew exactly where we were going as we pulled up to their house. They kept us updated on the fun adventures they were having as a pack. I know Poppy was in the best of hands with people who truly appreciate her and are willing to give her a great time. They are basically running a holiday resort for dogs!”

“Amazing first couple of nights with Silvia's family, they have a friendly dog who Weston could play with and kept us up to date throughout his stay. We couldn't have been happier with how Weston was treated and would really recommend these sitters to anyone with a friendly dog! 10/10”

Communication with Nick is great and he was flexible to accommodate us. He's on our list of favourite sitters now and we will definitely contact him for Lisa's next stay!”

Gayle and Simon were great again with Nova & Nel! The girls were so excited when they realised where they were going, there always so well looked after and im always sent pictures and updates. We couldn’t ask for better people to look after our girls 😊 Thank you again! ❤️

Jasper would have gone to my daughter's wedding and created havoc no doubt if the venue had allowed it - but they didn't, so the next best thing was a protest vote and go one better - a night in with Patrycja and her partner watching Netflix. And he got so much more than he bargained for. Lots of attention (what self respecting velcro dog wouldn't love that?), a new BFF as she had another furry friend staying over, and lots of walks with photos to dad thrown in. Honestly Patrycja, he couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you for looking after him and a loving lick from a very tired Jasper.

I would definitely recommend Grace and will be using her services again. Grace kept me updated with Sausage, shared pictures throughout the whole time while having Sausage. Grace was very accommodating, warm and welcoming us to her home. Sausage had the best time in her care.

I was very nervous about using the rover app and using someone to look after my dog Barney in a person’s house but it was the best thing I could have done Żaneta was brilliant kept me updated looked after Barney like he was her own pet he loved it seemed very happy and better than leaving him in kennels Personal care was excellent and it was easy to pay and maintain contact through the rover app would definitely recommend this lovely lady thanks again will be back for another visit soon

Catherine Looked after our cocker spaniel Leo for 6 days he is an energetic dog ! He was very well looked after lots of walks and lots of affection which he loves, he came home happy he is a much loved dog and I was very happy with Catherine's care of Leo , we had lots of photos and daily messages I would very much recommend this sitter 😊👍

Ling Mai was an amazing boarder for our silver Labrador. She sent us a lot of photos of Luna on her walks and playing/chilling. Luna seemed really settled at her home which is extremely dog friendly. We were very happy and relaxed. We are definitely booking more boarding with Ling Mai. She is a friendly woman and welcoming. Clearly a dog lover.
Melissa, Carrington & Rolo provided a happy, loving home from home for our King Charles cavalier,Roo. Roo settled in straight away and looked content and relaxed on the photos that were sent to us. They are obviously great lovers of dogs and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

This is the first time I’ve left my dogs with people they don’t know so I was really nervous, especially as one of my them was anxious about being left behind. Natalie took such good care of both my lovely dogs and they loved staying with her. I got regular updates about what they were doing and Natalie totally reassured me that they were settling well. Will definitely user Natalie again!

Matt has regularly looked after our dog Daisy over the last 2-3 years and we are always so grateful for the care and attention that he and his wife show her. Daisy is always so excited to get to Matt's house and staying overnight for a week was an extra special treat for her. When the weather is too warm he takes her for air-conditioned drives (something she loves!) and on exciting trips to cafe's (also something she loves!). Matt is always incredibly receptive to messages and happy to work around our plans.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
