“We could not be more grateful to Rachel. She was so wonderful with our staffy Ziggy, so respectful to our home and even did some training with Ziggy. Rachel sent lots and lots of updates and photos throughout the stay too and truly made us feel at such ease. I would HIGHLY recommend Rachel to look after your pet ❤️”

About: I live in Ripley and work in Matlock Bath so flexible across locations between this radius. I recently joined Rover after previously providing pet care through Cat in a Flat. **Not available during the day on weekends - Primarily available for early morning/evening visits - but can factor in more dependent on my work schedule** I grew up with Maine Coon cats looking after them from their kitten stages right through to their senior years. I understand grooming needs for furry friends, and know that every cat has a unique personality and I always take the time to get to know them in a way that they can feel comfortable and safe in their own environment. I also have experience walking and caring for dogs. I am confident handling smaller breeds and am familiar with larger dogs through my partner's lurcher. Whether your dog enjoys an energetic walk, gentle stroll, or just some companionship, I tailor my care to suit all of their needs. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your beloved pets, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. I'm always happy to share regular updates and photos while you're away for complete peace of mind. I look forward to meeting your furry family members! I work full time including weekends, but can factor in early morning/evening visits if necessary. I usually have two mid-week days off scheduled around my work, so ideal if you are away during the week. My partner is also flexible to assist with any dates that I am personally unable to attend. When caring for pets in their own home, I always aim to keep their routine as consistent as possible to help them feel comfortable and relaxed whilst the owners are away. Before taking on any bookings, I like to learn as much as possible about the pet's individual needs so that I can provide the best care possible. I keep lists of where important items are kept, and times for feeding schedules etc. While I am mainly focused on walks and drop in services for your pets, I can look at offering care in my own home if the dates match with my schedule.
“Ruby looked after our two year old cairn terrier really well, Izzi loved her! She left the house nice and clean and it was a pleasure to have her to stay with Izzi when we were away.”

“I had to use this app to each out last minute to find a sitter, due to a cancellation, and I couldn’t be more happy. Andreia was great with my dogs, especially consider one of them is a bit of a nervous wreck. Have booked more dates with Andreia and using her as my new sitter. Highly recommend.”

“Scarlett was booked for an over night stay with our two labs. Unfortunately on the first day Scarlett became unwell but was able to act fast and find us alternative cover to stay over night via her family member which we agreed to. Scarlett did make sure she was back to administer medications to our dog and to walk them. The dogs still had a lovely time ☺️”

“Ella was really good when she looked after my 4 month lab puppy! She gave him lot of love and attention and provided updates throughout the day! We were so pleased with the updates we received and the time and effort Keisha spent to get to know Snow on a visit prior to us going away. Keisha is very trust worthy and has a lot of experience which shows immediately.”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Broxtowe
We needed a pet sitter who could live in our home and look after our male cats, Billy and Pablo, at short notice. Billy is old, sweet and vulnerable, whereas Pablo is a young, high-energy cat who loves to scratch the furniture, given half a chance. We wondered if we could find someone who could cope. As soon as we met Jasmine, she was such a lovely, caring person that our worries disappeared. It’s easy to see that Jasmine loves cats, and she knows how to handle them. She gave us photos and updates every day, and she didn’t panic when Pablo kept his distance at first because he is extremely wary of new people. Jasmine kept Billy and Pablo well-fed, Billy inside and Pablo outside, and reported any concerns during her stay. She noted their feeding preferences and personality traits and made sure she had contact details for the vet. We only saw that Jasmine was in our home from the photos because the house looked ‘untouched’ and tidy when we returned. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

Scarlett was booked for an over night stay with our two labs. Unfortunately on the first day Scarlett became unwell but was able to act fast and find us alternative cover to stay over night via her family member which we agreed to. Scarlett did make sure she was back to administer medications to our dog and to walk them. The dogs still had a lovely time ☺️

Teodora looked after our boy for the night. We had a meet and greet beforehand and they got along really well. Coady has health conditions and was able to care for him in a way best for him. Our house was in the same condition we left it in and we couldn't have asked for a better person to look after him! Thank you Teodora

We were absolutely delighted with Keishia. Her communication is excellent, she took time to come and visit us and see our three dogs prior to sitting. Our dogs are very different in requirements with one being nervous, one blind and one hyperactive. Keishia managed each of their needs perfectly. She respected our property, keeping it to our stansards of clean and tidy, We cannot sing her praises enough and eould very highly recommend Keishia to anyone without a hesitation Thank yoy Keishia. Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Broxtowe walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Broxtowe choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
