I am used to administering ear drops to a big doggy who doesn't like his ears being messed with.as well as oral medications,. also I can massage leg muscles,( self taught) I'm can't bring myself to own any more pets, so a friend told me to try this site out, I work part-time week days, 9am -4pm Monday- Friday, so I'm available Fridays after 4pm till 8.30am Mondays, and also when on I'm holiday myself, I have a large secure back garden, your pets will be treated as my own, they are allowed on my settee, and on my bed,, I don't use crates, so if that's your preference, you would need to supply one,
“I was nervous about leaving Reggie, Ronnie and Charlie with a new sitter having had the same one for seven years but Fabiana was brilliant. I had regular photos and videos of my boys and Fabiana kept me updated with their antics. My house was clean and tidy when I arrived home too. I would definitely recommend Fabiana and I certainly book her again.”

“Anna was great - she helped us out at very short notice and was super communicative! She looked after our black lab perfectly - it was a fairly short sit, but she took him out for a walk and he was clearly very relaxed and happy in her company - she sent us pictures of him during the sit for peace of mind. Thank you once again, Anna!”

“I decided to try housesitting as my cat has struggled with my previous arrangements during holidays. I was very nervous about it as I’ve never used a house-sitter before. I’m so glad I found Jordan and booked him. He was wonderful. Jordan took very good care of the house and made sure my cat was happy. I received lots of updates and pictures which gave me enormous peace of mind. My cat had a lovely time hanging out with Jordan and was sad when he left! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jordan or book him again in the future 😊”

About: I work part time for a Peak District bookshop, I volunteer as a supporter communications volunteer coordinator for the RSPB, and have a background in education and theatre. I’ve owned and cared for cats all my life and currently we have three gorgeous furry delights at home called Arthur, Mabel and Enid. As I am semi-retired, I now have plenty of time to care for your pet. I am available at short notice and can work flexibly. I take a pride in respecting your home. I work cleanly and make sure that your pet feels safe and secure in their home and in my company. I listen carefully to owners’ requests and abide by your pet’s routine. I’m also happy to water plants and put out your bins.

About: I grew up with dogs in our household and for the last 20 years I've had my own dogs but lost my last one, Sanza, a Toy Poodle, in June 2025. I dog sit two Dachshund sisters aged 15 regularly and enjoy it very much. I love dogs and would treat your dogs as if they were my own. Your pet's comfort, happiness and safety is my priority. I have experience of giving medication via injection as my dog was diabetic and had to have insulin injections twice a day as well as oral medication. I also have experience of looking after senior dogs as I have cared for dogs who are 14 and 15 years old. I am available to look after your dogs in my home or at your home so they have as little disruption to their routine as possible. I am retired so I'am at home all day so can look after your pets whenever you need me. I'm very flexible and can adjust my schedule to fit in around your needs. I have an enclosed garden which is fully fenced/ brick wall. The garden is very secure. I live in a semi detached bungalow so there are no stairs to climb. I have lots of toys for your dogs to play with. I am available to look after them in their own home or at my home. I am retired so I am around all the time to look after your dogs. I prefer to look after small dogs but will look after medium sized dogs as long as they walk well on the lead as I walk with a crutch so can't manage to walk large dogs who pull or lunge too strongly when they react to other dogs. I do not look after large dogs for safety reasons.
“Maisie looked after our puppy for the day, and she was brilliant with him. Excellent communication leading up to the day, and he was very happy to be left with her. Look forward to having Maisie sit for us again.”

About: I’m a warm, friendly and reliable pet sitter, and together with my partner Lauren, we offer caring and dependable pet sitting for animals of all ages and personalities. As pet owners ourselves, we understand how important it is to find someone you can truly trust to care for your pets and keep them happy, safe and comfortable while you’re away. Having rescued my own dog in the past, Lily, I know how much patience, trust and gentle care can mean to a pet. Through helping with her training, building her confidence and understanding her individual needs, I’ve developed a calm and compassionate approach to animal care. Together, Lauren and I take the time to get to know each pet’s personality, routine and needs so we can make them feel settled and well cared for. Whether your pet enjoys playtime, quiet companionship, sticking to a familiar routine or needs a little extra patience and reassurance, we always adapt our care to suit them. We’re especially understanding with young pets who are still learning, as well as older pets who may need a softer, more attentive approach. Pet care fits really naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I run my own business, so I have a flexible schedule and can plan my time around the pets I’m caring for. This means I’m able to offer visits, walks, and sitting at times that work best for each pet and their owner. My partner Lauren also helps with sitting and works remotely, so together we’re able to be really flexible and make sure pets get plenty of care, company, and attention throughout the day. We love creating a calm, caring environment and tailoring our service to suit each pet’s individual routine and needs. We offer pet sitting in the pet’s own home, as we find this is where they feel most comfortable, settled, and secure. Staying in their familiar surroundings helps keep their routine as normal as possible and can make the whole experience much less stressful for them. We always take the time to get to know each pet’s usual routine, from feeding and walks to playtime, rest, and any little habits that help them feel at ease. Our aim is to make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away, with plenty of attention, reassurance, and love.
About: Hi, I’m Aurora! I’ve always adored animals, and those around me often refer to me as the cat or dog whisperer. I can often get animals that are usually shy/anxious to warm up to me pretty well. This may be because I’ve always been around animals and have a shy/timid temperament myself! 🫣 I grew up with 2 labradors, Molly and Maggie, who were my best friends. Since I was old enough to help with their care I have been looking after animals. I had another dog later on before I moved over to the UK (from the US) and I now have 4 cats (They wouldn’t dare let me have a dog now & I wouldn’t have space anyway 😂) I have looked after dogs occasionally for friends and through another app, and I’m very eager to spend some time with more puppers! I’m confident in walking dogs, though I may struggle with large dogs that pull as I’m quite petite. I have experience walking dogs who are dog reactive as well as looking after anxious dogs. Having had up to 8 cats (& owning 6 for many years before the oldest 2 sadly passed away) means I’m somewhat of an expert at feeding times! I’m capable of administering any oral medications required, I have experience of this with both cats & dogs. I can bathe dogs or do other grooming bits (I have long haired cats & I’m able to bathe them 😆😬) and I’m happy to take on any specific requirements you may have for your dog! I’m also happy to look after other animals - and even plants 🌱 I will take notes on your care requirements when we meet and will be sure to look after your pets to the best of my ability and hopefully as close as possible to the way you would care for them 😊 I have a pretty open schedule as I have Cystic Fibrosis so I am on full time disability and therefore can be around 24/7 if required. My health has improved a bit recently so this won’t affect my ability to care for your pets, and I could really do with some dog walking to get me out of the house! I will care for your pets as I would my own. I am happy to stick to any routines or requirements which you may have. I understand being anxious to leave your pets & will provide as many updates as you’d like! (I can sometimes send too many photos, so please communicate your preferences to me 😊)

What can I say other than Fabiana is an excellent house-sitter. She looked after our two pups for 3 days, took them for long walks, provided us with plenty of pictures and videos, and really looked after the house, even doing some of our laundry (which was a really pleasant surprise!). If you have any house-sitting needs, I highly recommend you engage with Fabiana. We'll definitely do it the next time we're away from home.

Jordan looked after my dog Milo overnight as he does not cope well with kennels. Milo had met him twice prior to the booking and always a good sign when he wagged his tail at Jordan on seeing him. Jordan took onboard all Milo’s individual characteristics for dog walks as he is reactive. Plenty of contact and photos during the visit added to feeling relaxed about leaving Milo at home. Jordan gives off such a calming persona and this is much welcomed. Would book again when the need arises 👍

Sue is THE BEST. She cares so much about my dog that I don't have a worry in the world leaving him with her. Sue is caring, thoughtful, warm and friendly. I would recommend Sue to anyone looking for someone to leave their precious pets with - you're in more-than-safe hands. We'll have Sue back any time we are away in the future! Thank you ever so much, Sue xxx

Kirsty was amazing with our cats. She was friendly and attentive and genuinely cared about them. Some of our cats are quite timid so we weren’t expecting them to be seen at all but Kirsty was patient with them and they even took some treats from her 🩷 her updates were frequent and made us feel much better about leaving them. Would recommend to anyone and will be asking her back!

Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North East Derbyshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
