I work from home so am completely flexible in my routine and therefore am available every day of the week. I need to keep one eye on my work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings and early afternoons, but I am flexible and never have to be in a meeting, so I will always be available. I can work remotely so I also do not need to be at home for this.

I always like to know as much as possible about your pet’s routine, personality, and any specific needs before the sit. This includes feeding times, house rules, favourite toys or walking routes, and how they react to other animals or strangers. For dogs, I’ll ask whether they prefer to walk before or after breakfast, if they have any health issues or sensitivities, and whether they can be let off lead or should stay on-lead at all times. Understanding their recall, triggers, and usual behaviour on walks helps me keep them safe and relaxed. For cats, I like to know their daily habits, where they like to sleep or hide, and how they enjoy interacting, whether they’re playful, independent, or total lap cats. I’m also more than happy to take care of other animals in the home (if doing a home visit or stay over), such as rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, or birds, just let me know their routines. If your plants need watering while you’re away, I’m happy to help with that too. The more I know, the better I can ensure everything runs smoothly while you’re gone.
A typical day
Every day starts with a toilet break for the dogs a bit of fresh air and a chance to stretch their legs. I always check with owners whether their dog prefers a walk before or after breakfast, as some dogs do better not walking on a full stomach. After that, it’s time for food, a cuddle or brush, and a check-in on how everyone’s doing. Walks are tailored to the dog’s energy levels, with plenty of time to sniff, explore, play, or just enjoy a gentle stroll. Toilet breaks are spaced out regularly to keep them comfortable and settled throughout the day. With cats, I take a gentler approach letting them come to me when they’re ready. Playtime, lap cuddles, or simply sharing the same space, I adapt to whatever makes them happiest. Litter trays are kept clean and fresh, and I always watch for any changes in behaviour or routine. Evenings finish with a final toilet break or tray check, followed by some quiet bonding time. Whether it’s brush time or curling up together, I make sure each pet ends the day feeling calm, safe, and cared for.

I decided to try housesitting as my cat has struggled with my previous arrangements during holidays. I was very nervous about it as I’ve never used a house-sitter before. Jordan took amazing care of our three cats, Violet, Maisy and Ted, while we were away. Each of them has their own little quirks, but Jordan was patient and attentive, making sure they were all comfortable and happy. He kept us updated with messages and photos, which really put our minds at ease. We came home to three very content cats and a spotless house. We would gladly have Jordan look after them again and highly recommend his services
We had Jordan stay at our home to look after our Labrador, Max, and our little terrier, Daisy, and we couldn't be more pleased.
