“Highly recommended and gave my dogs a home from home experience. Shelby looked after my two dogs for two nights and we were updated lots with photos of them playing, out on walks and snuggled up with Shelby. We were put at ease straight away when we met them before boarding and this trust and care for our dogs continued with excellent communication before, during and after the boarding experience. We will definitely trust and use them again. Thank you so much guys.”

“Antonia cared for our retriever x Loki and took such great care of him. From the moment we dropped him at her home we were kept informed with picture updates and felt completely reassured the whole time. She took him on long walks and he always looked so relaxed and happy. He came home very contented, if not a little sad to be back! We will 100% use Antonia again! Thank you!”

“My dog returned very happy and calm after being with Sue for the week. He had a fantastic time and Sue kept me updated with messages, I couldn’t ask for a better sitter. Will definitely use Sue in future.”

About: I have over 5 years of experience caring for dogs and am a huge dog lover. I’ve regularly looked after dogs for friends and family, including my friend’s dog and my auntie’s dog, who I care for quite often. Through this experience, I’ve become confident handling dogs of all different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I absolutely love spending time with dogs and enjoy taking them on walks, playing with them, cuddles and making sure they feel happy. Whether it’s a long walk, some company during the day, or lots of attention and affection, I treat every dog as if they were my own I work from home full time so happy to care and be around for your dogs with my flexible schedule🐶 I have the time to pop over, go on walks or a have your dog for a sleepover most days 🐾 I live in a detached house with a good sized fenced garden! It is 3 storey so there is stairs to consider if your dog likes to sleep upstairs, but plenty of rooms and space if your dog likes sleeping elsewhere. I live near lots of walking trails, fields, woods, and swimming spots! I don’t have any other pets and live with my boyfriend who also absolutely loves dogs too.
“Ellie and Liam are great! Communication is brilliant and they take such good care of our dog, we definitely recommend them. Gremlin is a little quirky and takes a bit to warm up but they made him feel so comfortable the first time they had him, that he was so excited to go back again when we dropped him off! Thanks again :) xx”

“My German Shepherd Ava had a great time and I got the impression should could have stayed longer. Can't do better than that! Simone was great and sent me pictures of Ava to ease our mind whilst we were on holiday. I would use Simone again without question as I know Ava would be happy.”

“Winnie clearly had the best time! I had a lovely short stay away with Winnie in the best care and regular updates from Tracy. I arrived to collect Winnie and she took herself off to their family sofa! A lovely family to trust with our fur baby ❤️”

“Many thanks to Yvonne for caring for Rosie so well over the weekend. It’s the first time Rosie has stayed there . I was nervous as Rosie is a miniature dachshund and is a real Mummy’s girl . But Yvonne invited us to her house for a couple of visits before I finally left Rosie . The stay went wonderfully, with lots of photos of Rosie having cuddles and belly rubs . Thanks Yvonne , Rosie will become a regular visitor xx”

“Picky had an amazing time with Karen. I could tell he absolutely loved her. On our side, we were really happy with everything too. She asked many pertinent questions, we could tell that she really knows her way around dogs. Picky being epileptic, we really wanted somebody thorough and trustworthy with his medication. She didn’t disappoint and we are looking forward to booking her again!”

“Fabiana is a fanatic host. It's clear that she pays a lot of attention to each individual dog and their needs. She took the time to get to know our dog and made sure he was introduced nicely to her own dog, home and family. Our dog had a great time and we'll be booking again with Fabiana soon!”

“Mavis was happy and tired when she got home so I know she’s had a good time and Emily’s (Mavis very rarely settles down before 8pm). Would fully recommend Emily, excellent communication and care excellent care for my dog 🐶😊”

“Couldn’t have left Ralph in a safer, more reassuring space than with Hallie and her lovely family and her lovely Snow! Very communicative, always keeping us in the loop with regular updates how Ralph was getting on, lots of beautiful pictures! Tended to his every need and more. Honestly, thank you so much for all your love and care for our little man. A very happy dog returned to us! Will definitely be using Hallie in the future!”

“Allison was great. She invited us to hers the day before so Bella could meet her and her dog. By the end the dogs got along well and Bella relaxed. Would definitely use Allison again!”

“Lucy reassured me that Jasper was doing well. She sent written updates and pictures. He had a great time playing with Lola and Eva (and all of their toys!) and took him out for a good run around. Really happy, thank you :-)”

“Absolutely outstanding dog sitter. Diego was so well looked after and cared for throughout. I received constant messages, photos and videos which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. You can genuinely see the love and attention given to him, and I could not have wished for a better person to look after my dog. Highly recommended and I would not hesitate to use again.”

I was very happy to leave Monty with Meg, she has a lovely location, with large garden, that backs on to a field, perfect for walks. I am sure he was very well cared for, has the run of the house to sleep where he likes, and I will not hesitate to ask Meg again for her availability when we next need.

Antonia was absolutely brilliant from start to finish! I booked with her at very short notice and dropped by dog off without a meet and greet (my choice) but my dog settled straight away. I received pictures and updates throughout the weekend and picked a happy doggy up! I was also a few hours later than anticipated but Antonia was very understanding. Thanks so much Antonia, I highly recommend you :)

Larna and Rich have been fantastic looking after Ava. We were gone for 8 days on holiday and I was sent daily photos and updates. From all of the photos, I could see how content Ava was which really put my mind at rest so we could enjoy our family holiday. I have used Larna before this but will reach out to her yet again when we next need a dog sitter. Fully recommend.

It's been an absolute pleasure to leave Lola with Sue, she is such a lovely lady and took such good care of Lola. We are very confident that we have found the right person to leave Lola with whenever we need to. I actually think Lola didn't want to come home. Thank you Sue

Wilf had his first sleepover at Nicola’s and seems to have loved every minute. No anxiety and slept through the night despite it being his first night away from us since we got him. Feel really reassured now that he’s fine staying away from home when necessary. Nicola did everything to accommodate his routine, sleeping arrangements, new food, and aslo gave him the meds he’s on this week. Thankyou! ❤️

Amazing! Our 15 year old dog Penny had a great time staying at Claire's house for 3 nights. Claire provided provided detailed updates regularly with plenty of photos. She also drove to our house to collect Penny's food that Amazon delivered after we left for our trip. We wouldn't hesitate to book with Claire again and highly recommend her.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
