Great experience. Mel looked after Harry in my house for a 60-minute drop-in visit. Did a meet and greet beforehand, responded quickly and kept me updated. Lots of photos of Harry too. Definitely recommend.

Nicola regularly walks our sausage dog Clive , she is very reliable and always so lovely. We feel very lucky to have Nicola and Clive loves her! Clive has recently had surgery which has meant there’s been lots of extra requests we have had for Nicola during her visits and she has been so kind and accommodating every time! We cannot recommend Nicola enough!

I work full time on a dairy farm, available in the mornings and evenings. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I am available all day to allow dogs to board. I have two fenced/walled gardens which are thoroughly secure. I have two dogs at home, they are dog friendly and love to play. Toilet breaks are available 0-2 hours. We live on a farm, so therefore there’s endless fields to walk through safely.

The messages were super detailed which were amazing, let us know he was in good hands! Sharon is doing another 2 drop ins in 2 weeks and I know Rufus will be excited to see her and will definitely be using in future 😊 Thank you!!

Meghan looked after my cat for two nights, coming to my home twice a day to feed him, and I couldn’t be happier with her care. My cat is usually very scared of new people and tends to hide, never coming out to say hello, but Meghan still managed everything perfectly with patience and understanding. It gave me real peace of mind knowing he was being looked after so well. I’m really grateful for her help and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring cat sitter. Thank you,

About: I am a compassionate, lifetime dog lover with extensive experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ages and temperaments. Having recently cared for my own rescue dog until she passed at age 13, I am experienced in managing care needs—including mobility challenges, incontinence, and daily medication routines for senior pets. I understand how much gentleness, patience and attentiveness care rescue dogs need to feel safe and comfortable. My Experience & Skills = Professional Sitting: Previous experience as a professional nanny looking after family pets alongside children, as well as paid standalone pet sitting. All Sizes & Handling: Comfortable handling both small breeds and big, strong dogs who pull or walk rough on a leash. Flexible Schedule: I work remotely, meaning I have a flexible schedule and plenty of availability during the day to keep your pets company, stick to feeding schedules, and give them the attention they deserve. I treat every dog with the same level of love and devotion as I treated my own, I miss her ever so much and would like somewhere to put some of that love and dedication now. I work remotely on my laptop with a highly flexible schedule, allowing me to easily fit pet care around my day. Because I can work from anywhere with Wi-Fi, I can stay at your home for house sitting without disturbing your pet's normal routine. I’m available for daytime drop-in visits, mid-day walks, and overnight stays, with complete freedom to give your pets frequent attention, play, and scheduled check-ins throughout the day. My priority is keeping your pets comfortable and secure in their familiar environment. I treat every client's home with absolute respect, keeping it clean, secure, and quiet and have extensive experience doing this from my many years as a private nanny. I strictly follow your safety rules—whether that's double-checking gates and doors, managing leash safety during walks, adhering to precise feeding and medication instructions, or keeping a close eye on open windows for cats. Living alone and working remotely means I can provide focused, undivided attention and peace of mind while you're away.

About: I’ve had dogs and cats and been involved in looking after them since a young age. We’ve had lots of rescue animals and so have lots of experience dealing with shy and nervous animals. I work locally and from home through the week and manage my own schedule so can fit in visits around home life and work so can be quite flexible. I have a fenced back yard and locked gate and our house is at the end of a cul-de-sac so very quiet. The house has plenty of room inside for pets to play or have time on their own.

About: I have lived with dogs since I was 10 years old. We are a family of dog lovers and our dogs are our babies. I have now been dog sitting with my partner since November and we have cared for multiple dogs needing different levels of care. We have received multiple bookings and positive feedback from all of our clients. We have our own dog who we care for and walk every day. We have lots of ideas of dog walks and also know what it is like to care for a reactive dog as our dog can be anxious around other dogs. I provide regular updates to you as an owner as I know how important this is for you. Every dog we have cared for has become part of our family for the short time we’ve had them and we always miss them and hope to see them again soon! I am looking to earn some extra money pet sitting and dog walking. As I am a primary school teacher this is something that me and my partner are able to do on evenings, weekends or school holidays. We are eager to fit in pet care at weekends and school holidays as it is something we really enjoying doing. We can care for dogs in our own home due to our dog being reactive he would not be in our home and would be cared for by my partner’s mum who shares the dog with us at her home. We treat your dog like our own and the safety of your pet is of paramount importance. We always think about how we would want someone to care for our dog when caring for your pets. Our pets are our babies and when your pet stays with us we welcome them in as a member of our family.

About: I’ve been caring for friends’ and family members’ pets for over 5 years, building up plenty of hands-on experience with both cats and dogs. I have a real passion for animals and I’m a proud cat owner myself. I love spending time outdoors, so I’m always happy to take dogs on walks, including longer, high-energy outings. At weekends, you’ll often find me out on hikes, which makes me a great match for active dogs who need plenty of exercise and stimulation. I take my friends spaniel quite often on long walks, have him for sleepovers and I love building a bond with dogs and fitting them into my routine. I’m reliable, caring, and treat every pet as if they were my own. I currently work full-time, but I’m looking for something else in my life where I can help out and spend time with dogs. I’ll do my best to be available if you need me at specific times, though I do work from 8:30 to 5, however I do have the option to work from home if needed. I live in a semi-detached terrace house with a fenced garden. The stairs are quite steep, so any dog allowed upstairs would need to be able to manage them. There are plenty of nearby walking routes, and I also have a cat who is comfortable with dogs once she gets to know them - so a dog with prior experience around cats would be ideal.

About: I've owned and cared for dogs throughout my life, I was given my first dog at the tender age of 4, and I've also had a couple of cats along the way, one being a large breed, (Maine Coon) I believe all animals deserve to be treated with love and respect., I can administer oral medication as required by the owner., I myself have just recently lost my 2 German shepherds aged 10yrs, whom I adored, my boy sadly went over the rainbow18 mth ago, my girl sadly croosed 3mths ago,, I miss them terribly. I am used to administering ear drops to a big doggy who doesn't like his ears being messed with.as well as oral medications,. also I can massage leg muscles,( self taught) I'm can't bring myself to own any more pets, so a friend told me to try this site out, I work part-time week days, 9am -4pm Monday- Friday, so I'm available Fridays after 4pm till 8.30am Mondays, and also when on I'm holiday myself, I have a large secure back garden, your pets will be treated as my own, they are allowed on my settee, and on my bed,, I don't use crates, so if that's your preference, you would need to supply one,

Katie was extremely professional, polite and very loving towards my two cats. It was the first time I had left them alone at home, but I need not have worried, as Katie took really good care of them. She made sure they always had enough food and water and that the cat lit tray was kept clean. She also left my house extremely clean and tidy. Communication with Katie was excellent. I can wholeheartedly recommend Katie and will be using her again in the near future.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North East Derbyshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
