With over 18 years experience working in animal care, ranging from zoo keeping and wildlife rescue through to sanctuary and rehoming, there isn't much that I haven't seen or done. I originally trained to level 5 in animal care and did a stint in vet nursing, travelled the world for 5 years and ended up doing two degrees in conservation...don’t ask me why, because when I met my first greyhound upon returning to the UK (a 40kg white horse of a dog who nearly broke my nose) my best laid plans of working in conservation, ecology and wildlife rehabilitation went fully, and thoroughly, out the window and my obsession with all things sighthound (and dogs in general) began. I studied canine nutrition and deep dived into behaviour, ran a greyhound rehoming centre for a few years before moving to a national mix-species rescue where I learnt even more about domestic rescue, behaviour and care. Now, run my own sighthound rehoming charity alongside 8 other amazing women, while running my pet care services business on the side. Am I little bit mad? Absolutely.
