“First time using Jade and I’ll definitely use Jade again! She made sure to keep me updated with how Winnie was getting on and send me loads of photos which made my heart melt, Winnie had the bestest day to the point where she didn’t even want to get back in the car! Jade looks after your pup like she’s her own and it’s amazing to have that when it’s needed!”

“Grabriela was amazing, so friendly and reassuring, was the first time I’ve used Rover for my Dog, and even though I was nervous about leaving him, I had lots of reassuring messages and photos during his stay, he is one tired dog now! Would highly recommend and would send Milo here again, Thankyou 🥰”

“Chester enjoyed his time with Lone and her young family . I would fully recommend Lone to look after my puppy again in the future. Chester was not stressed or anxious on collection. In fact he was still happy to be there once I came to collect him. Thank you Lone it was a big help today see you soon 😀”

“Highly recommended, will be booking with sabina again. She is very experienced with caring for dogs/animals and even provided some training for my dog whilst caring for her. Tallulah was very happy and comfortable staying with Sabina & her lovely family.”

“Patrycja was the perfect dog sitter. She gives everything when looking after our springer, taking him on lots of walks, giving him lots of playtime but also relaxing cuddles in the evening. Her set up is well suited for dogs of different sizes and needs. She also sends lots of cute photos of our dog! We certainly trust Patrycja to look after our pooch very well.”

“Many thanks to Brian and Nichola for looking after Stan for what must have seemed ages. Stan has been telling me how much he has enjoyed his time with you and how very much he enjoyed his walks. I cannot thank you both enough for taking great care of him and no doubt I will be in touch again.”

“Can’t thank Charlotte enough for looking after my fur baby! I received regular updates through the weekend letting me know what they’d been up to. She took time listening to my dogs routine and that put my mind at ease. My dog has had a really wonderful weekend and I can’t thank you enough. 100% recommend!”

“Rachel was absolutely amazing! Her gentle nature with Rufus made it obvious that she treats your pets like her own family members. She shared plenty of photos and videos and is a great communicator. I would definitely recommend her, and we will absolutely be back. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of Rufus he had a great time! x”

About: I have had pets since I was little, a rabbit, a springer spaniel and a boarder terrier. I used to walk neighbours dogs for free. I have had three cats and currently have a golden retriever puppy. I have worked as an animal keeper in a zoo for a year during a degree in wildlife conservation as a mature student. I love dogs and earning money is a bonus. The day starts with outside time, followed by breakfast at 08:00 and then some playtime. If walking is required then walking would be next, although, I’m flexible depending on the guest, my dog, Noah, likes a snoozy morning and I do chores, read, write and keep my eyes on the animals in my charge. If I have dog walking dates I would do up to 2 or 3 of those depending on needs of the dogs. I may have some drop in visits for cats but if I have boarding/daycare I like to be at home so tend not to overbook myself. I never leave the house for longer than 90 minutes, drop ins and walks usually take 30 - 45 minutes with travel. Lunch is at 1pm. More walking dates or freelance work can happen or if I have a doggy guest that requires post lunch walk then this would be next. I tend to take Noah to the forest for an hour between 2 and 4pm. Dinner is at 6pm. There may be an evening walk if required. I tend not to give treats unless instructed to by owners. Evening is gentle play with a wind down, I sometimes watch a film or settle with a book. Bedtime is 10 - 11pm with sleeping arrangements as stipulated by owners. I have a secure fenced garden with lawn. There is a mortise lock gate and security cameras on the garden, driveway, front of the property and inside the house so I can check if I’m out which isn’t often, I pay a subscription to ........ which stores recordings in the cloud - for everyone’s safety. I never overbook, my care is pet centred. There are no toxic plants or access to drains. There is no exposed wiring or electrical hazards. My house is wheelchair accessible although there is no downstairs toilet.
“Grainne took really good care of George at late notice when I had to be called out of town for work. It was during a heatwave and George was kept cool and stimulated with Oscar! He has been sleepjnf like a log since he has come home.”

“Percy went to stay with Sarah and her family for the first time. We had previously had a meet and greet when they made myself and Percy very welcome. It was very obvious from all the photos Sarah sent whilst I was away that he was having a wonderful time and enjoying himself. I would most certainly recommend Sarah to anyone lovely family who love dogs!”

“Karolina was brilliant with our terrier. We asked her to sit Daisie for our holiday so we arranged a trial night. Karolina is very professional and she and her son took good care of our dog. Also Karolina sent us many updates about how our dog was getting on at hers with plenty of pictures. Our dog is usually very anxious about being left somewhere else but she settled in quickly and had a good time.”

“Thank you so much to Heather and family for looking after Kaida. After the first meet, I just knew Kaida would be looked after and there would be no worries at all. Heather kept in touch while away with both messages and photos which was very reassuring. First time we have tried home boarding and Kaida was looked after brilliantly as if she was their own. Wouldn't hesitate to use Heather again and cannot say how delighted I was with the service, love and care provided. Highly recommended and a big thank you to putting my mind at ease.”

Our 5 year old Staffy has just had a fantastic stay with Atlanta, Tom and Valentine. He was very happy and relaxed when I collected him and the fantastic pictures and videos that we were sent shows that he was happy and content throughout his stay. In turn this allowed us to relax and enjoy our weekend without worrying. I will very happily leave Dex in their care again so big thank you to you both.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
