“Ben went above and beyond with our little Reggie, this was the first time we had to booked a sitter, so I was very nervous, but Ben, was contacting me and sending lovely messages and updates and photos of Reggie through the entire week we was away on our holiday, which i so appreciated from him, it made me feel at ease and I knew Reggie was being cared for and in safe hands with Ben, and in the extremely high weather temperatures we was having at the time, having a frenchie you can appreciate it is very hard due to Reggie’s breed, but yet again Ben took care of it and made sure Reggie was safe and comfortable, Which once again was down to Ben. From the moment I saw Ben as we introduced ourselves and with his own dog Noah, I knew Ben was the person for us. I want to thank Ben again personally and to Noah for making Reggie’s stay so welcome for him, and definitely will be having Ben again for Reggie’s stay in future, many thank Ben ☺️”

“Monty had a brilliant time, he was well looked after and Rachel even followed our training program so Montys training wasn't disrupted. Rachel kept me up to date with everything Monty was doing and sent pictures too. Overall a positive experience and Monty will probably visit again soon.”

“I was apprehensive about leaving Bertha with anyone apart from family, we found helen and so glad we did! Bertha was cared for and looked after like their own, I received plenty of updates and photos whilst away that helped to put my mind at ease. Helen is great and I will definitely be booking again for next time!”

“Used Rachel again after she had Patch for the day and he had a great time. Rachel and her partner provide such great care for dogs in their care, they treat Patch like their own and they even took him for his swimming lesson. Rachel is such an enthusiastic person about dogs and couldn’t ask for a better service.”

“George and Leo returned calm and happy and throughout their 5 night stay we received regular updates and photos. We did a meet and greet with Brian and communication before and during the stay was excellent. Highly recommended sitter, thank you”

“Can’t thank Charlotte enough for looking after my fur baby! I received regular updates through the weekend letting me know what they’d been up to. “Boom Boom’s stay with Karolina was nothing short of fantastic. Karolina was organised, caring and I trusted her right from the start. I had to book with Karolina at very short notice because my pre-booked dog sitter fell through. Karolina replied almost straight away and was more than happy to help. Boom Boom was in a very clean and safe environment. I was kept up to date consistently. The care shown by Karolina was second to none and I will be using her services again. Thank you so much Karolina.”

“Chester enjoyed his time with Lone and her young family . I would fully recommend Lone to look after my puppy again in the future. Chester was not stressed or anxious on collection. In fact he was still happy to be there once I came to collect him. Thank you Lone it was a big help today see you soon 😀”

“Dilma and Eric and their family did a great job taking care of my miniature poodle Jimmy for 10 days. I was a little concerned beforehand as he needs time to get used to strangers but they made him comfortable quicker than I thought would happen. By day two he looked happy and integrated into the household on the photos and video updates I received. I received these updates daily and the communication during the whole stay was good. If I need someone to take care of Jimmy again I'll be contacting Dilma and Eric for sure and would recommend them to anyone else needing a dog sitter.”

“First time using Jade and I’ll definitely use Jade again! She made sure to keep me updated with how Winnie was getting on and send me loads of photos which made my heart melt, Winnie had the bestest day to the point where she didn’t even want to get back in the car! Jade looks after your pup like she’s her own and it’s amazing to have that when it’s needed!”

“Millie was well settled for her overnight stay and had lots of fun. Jordan consistently updated me with photos and videos of Millie. Jordan was very helpful in our meet and greet too and answered any queries I had. I definitely recommend booking with Jordan!”

“Highly recommended, will be booking with sabina again. She is very experienced with caring for dogs/animals and even provided some training for my dog whilst caring for her. Tallulah was very happy and comfortable staying with Sabina & her lovely family.”

“Monty our 6year old golden retriever stayed with Sue for a week. From the first meet and greet it was obvious that Sue was great with dogs. Sue sent us lots of updates and photos which we loved receiving - it was plain to see Monty was very happy throughout his stay and received great care and went on long walks and trips to the park which he loves. I would definitely recommend Sue and will be asking Sue to look after Monty for us again.”

“Natalie looked after our two cavalier spaniels and they had the best time. Natalie was so lovely and it was clear the boys were so relaxed right from the get go. We got photos and updates to keep our minds at rest and I don't think they wanted to leave! We will absolutely be booking with Natalie again”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Ashfield
Rachel was fantastic with our girl who has seperation anxiety / some reactivity to other dogs. Rachel was very attentive to Luna’s needs, made sure she felt right at home, and sent us lovely pictures of their walk and time together throughout the booking. Would definitely recommend!

Grabriela was amazing, so friendly and reassuring, was the first time I’ve used Rover for my Dog, and even though I was nervous about leaving him, I had lots of reassuring messages and photos during his stay, he is one tired dog now! Would highly recommend and would send Milo here again, Thankyou 🥰

Our 5 year old Staffy has just had a fantastic stay with Atlanta, Tom and Valentine. He was very happy and relaxed when I collected him and the fantastic pictures and videos that we were sent shows that he was happy and content throughout his stay. In turn this allowed us to relax and enjoy our weekend without worrying. I will very happily leave Dex in their care again so big thank you to you both.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
