“Michelle was very caring with our pet shih-poo Luna. On returning from our vacation, it was clear to see that Michelle and Luna had built a special bond. Seeing this, my wife and I realised that Luna had been in very good caring hands, and would not hesitate to leave Luna with Michelle again”

About: I have had dogs all my life and love everything about dogs. I recently lost my Spaniel and miss the sound of paws in the house, cuddles on the sofa and muddy walks so would love to look after some of your gorgeous dogs to get my fill whilst we don't currently have a dog. I have a lovely fenced garden and plenty of space in the house which was designed with dogs in mind. I am very close to a lot of dog walks of which I know really well so can adjust length according to your dog walking requirements. My little girl is 4.5 and very able to handle herself around dogs but I wouldn't accept any dog that is nervous around children or has a history of being aggressive towards children. I do work part-time but work from home with just a Wednesday were I am out of the house but my partner works from home that day so there will always be someone at home and he has also had dogs all his life. There may be few occasions when your dog may be left alone but never for longer than a couple of hours but they would need to be comfortable with this. If you have any questions please drop me a message as I am new to this so may not have added everything you would like to know. My partner would walk your dog in the morning between 7am-8am. Until September I have my little girl with me on Mondays and Fridays and during these days we often go out walking or down to the allotment both of which your dog can enjoy with us. On the other days I will walk with them for easily an hour but less if your dog doesn't need or want this much activity. I have a fenced garden and a open plan kitchen/diner. We don't currently have a dog at home having lost our Spaniel so your dog would be the only dog and have all of our attention.
“Moose had a wonderful time with Charlie, and seems to have got on really well with Red, a real treat as he can sometimes be a bit much for other dogs. He's been absolutely exhausted since he got home, a sure sign of a great weekend away!”

“Steve was absolutely amazing with Cassie. She seemed to have really enjoyed her time with Steve and had plenty of walks with him. That much that she didn't want to leave.Would definitely book with Steve again and 100% recommend him.”

“Ted has really enjoyed his overnight stay with Tomasz and Ayushi and his small pal Leo. They pampered him and really welcomed him in their house and garden. Definitely highly recommended for their help and attention to Ted's needs sending regular updates and videos while he stayed over. Thank you for having Ted he says Woof woof (thanks)”

“As a rover sitter, it’s hard to know who to pick! So when it came to finding someone with my dog I looked for a while and decided on Katarzyna. I definitely picked the right person. She was so good with my dog. As were her partner and child. He had walks, cuddles and thoroughly enjoyed his stay. I will definitely use her services again for Prince x”

“Great , as always. She was really helpful in making sure our dog had his food, as he's quite fussy. Lots of lovely pics and videos also shared, which meant we could relax, knowing our dog was being looked after well.”

“Another stay with Ivans & his family for our dog Ridley. Ridley loves staying here, and it’s great to know he is getting real 5 star treatment. Can’t recommend Ivans highly enough! Ridley will be back again soon…..”

I was really nervous about leaving my Pug Peach with anyone whilst we went on a family holiday. I needn’t have worried. Helen was absolutely amazing from the very beginning. Clear communication, and super friendly. I appreciated the constant communication, and videos and pictures, it helped me relax and enjoy my time, knowing peach was in great hands. Peach had a wonderful time, she fit straight in and was treated as a part of the family, including all the belly tickles she could want. She came home just as happy as when we left her. I would not hesitate to send peach for a holiday with Helen again. Thank you so much ❤️

Alexandra and Luke were lovely. Treated Ed and Aherla like family. Aherla can be a anxious dog but she took straight to Luke and settled down. Ed took to Alex and became a puppy again. A couple of issues at night as they have never stayed away overnight, but alex and luke handled them with no problem. Would 100% book them to look after Ed and Aherla or any future fur babies we have.

Tom and Ayushi (and Leo of course) have been so kind, warm and welcoming Milo into their home. Their home is lovely with such a huge garden for the dogs to play! The communication has been amazing with frequent updates. Milo has had the best time playing with Leo and I am sure he will be back soon! Could not recommend these both enough!! Also the puppy pics were absolutely adorable!

Barry looked after our Barney. He kept us informed on how he was setting in. He sent us regular photos as well. It was a real home from home . We would definitely ask Barry to look after Barney for us again. We definitely recommend Barry to look after your 4 legged friends.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Yorkshire and the Humber may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
