I take the time to get to know each dog’s personality, habits and individual needs so I can provide care that is genuinely tailored to them. 🤝 MEET & GREET BEFORE BOOKING I always recommend a meet & greet before your dog’s first stay. We’ll talk through their: • Routine and feeding • Exercise requirements • Personality and behaviour • Medication or other care requirements • Likes, dislikes and anything else you feel I should know It’s also an opportunity for you to see where your dog will be staying and make sure you’re completely comfortable. I’m close to fields, river and canal walks which provide plenty of opportunities for safe and varied exercise. Barry looked after our Barney. He kept us informed on how he was setting in. He sent us regular photos as well. It was a real home from home . We would definitely ask Barry to look after Barney for us again. We definitely recommend Barry to look after your 4 legged friends.
We would not leave Buddy with anyone else! Barry treats Buddy like his own and ensures he keeps his routine. Buddy loves going on holiday to Barry’s, it is like home from home. Barry makes sure he knows everything there is to know so he can ensure Buddy is cared for on the best possible way.
I have only left my pup once and it broke my heart he was mistreated and I was heart broken . Imagine my delight when we went on our 1st meeting with Barry. He was very warm and friendly with both myself and Ash , Ash loves meeting new people. Barry kept me updated all day with photos . I can't recommend him enough, I will definitely use him again and it's great that he only lives 3 minutes away .
From the initial meet and greet Barry put us at ease about leaving Buddy, as we have never left him before. From the time we dropped him off to picking Buddy up, Barry continued to be professional and reassure us Buddy was ok, by sending loads of photos and updates. This allowed us to enjoy our holiday knowing Buddy was in safe hands and enjoying his holiday too! I would not hesitate to leave Buddy in the future and already have his next holiday with Barry booked!
Barry looked.after Dolly our 11 year old cocker spaniel for 2 weeks while we were.on holiday. We received regular updates and photos and she settled in well very quickly. Definitely a brilliant home from home service by a caring person. Usually feel guilty about leaving Dolly if we go away but this time I was totally relaxed and I think Dolly had a holiday too at Barry's house!
Barry was amazing with Dolly. She is a 10 year old timid cocker spaniel who is very timid and we wanted a one to one for her as she has previously been distressed when staying in kennels. Barry kept in touch throughout her stay with photos updates. Dolly was happy and settled and there is no doubt she will be staying with Barry again! It really puts my mind at rest knowing she is being well cared for.

Schedule
Being retired means that I have no work commitments. I will be at home throughout any period of care to minimise any separation anxiety issues. IMPORTANT I kindly ask that any special care requirements are discussed, so that I am best prepared to meet the needs of your dog. Please note that my calendar may indicate that I’m not available, this is not always the case, please send a request and I will respond asap to confirm availability. (I do care for numerous other dogs on a private basis eg for friends and family).

Safety, trust & environment
🐾 Security 🐾 I have a secure back garden for toilet breaks and access is available throughout the entirety of a stay. Whilst your dog is on walks he/she will be on a lead at all times, no exceptions. Both myself and the environment will be new to your dog, so allowing your dog off the lead is not something I would risk. The walks will be tailored to suit the needs of your dog e.g terrain, duration etc
A typical day
A typical day would include early morning time in the walled/fenced garden (garden access throughout the day) .. play time .. and walks that will be tailored to meet the needs of your dog. Exercise requirements should be discussed during the ‘meet and greet’.
