About: I've taken care of a variety of dogs since I was younger such as labradors, cockapoos and staffies. They have ranged from puppies to more senior dogs. I have watched them overnight, to pop in visits and walking up to 4 at a time. I am a part-time worker with a schedule that works around me and my other commitments so therefore I am available at your convenience. I am skilled in how to keep pets happy and will give them 100% of my time and effort with no distractions. I will make sure I am aware of how to gain your pets trust and its likes/dislikes.

About: I've been a lifelong dog lover and owner. Apart from the Yorkshire terrier I had as a child, I've always been a fan/owner of rescue dogs, all shapes n size's n ages n medical needs and more. I'm happy to give animals any medication they may need, I understand if any pets have fears about other dogs, or objects. I can appreciate if you or your pet have any routines that need to be followed, and I will always abide by any rules/needs you and your pet have. I've experience of nervous dogs. I've also self funded my level 3 qualification in canine first aid, and I'm always keen to learn more about animals, dogs in particular, their psychology needs, training, behaviour. And I looked after a friend's housecat in January, so I've learned to change litter trays, and the importance of keeping housecats safe. My friends cat needs medication at set times through the day, so I got up early to give this, I adapted to the needs of the cat, and I'd do the same for any animal. It is a long time since I had rabbits, guinea pigs etc, but if you can educate about what you require me to do for your pet, then I'm eager to learn! Currently I help to care for my elderly father part time, but I have plenty of time to care for your pet needs. I don't have any children, and are unable to have my own pets , so I'd love to help other people care for their pets. I'm very adaptable, I drive my own car, I'm happy to work around your schedule. All I want to do is keep your pet and yourself happy. I adapt to whatever the situation I'm in presents to me. I understand that as humans are unique, so are our pets too. Keeping pets to routine they are used to me matters hugely to me, and equally keeping pets safe is of the utmost importance to me. As is respecting your and your pets privacy, I would never take a photo of your pet without permission, and I'd never post on social media. When I had my own dogs, I'd get up and let them into the garden if needed, then a cuddle and fuss, give them a little bit of breakfast, I'd have a cuppa, get dressed, and we would go for a walk. Then back home, a clean up if needed, a treat for them. If they wanted to play with toys then we would, if they wanted a nap they had one. Then another walk in the afternoon, then their main meal around 5pm, a dental stick around 6.30pm. Then more play if wanted, outside in the garden. Or snuggling on the sofa with me. I've tended to have mature dogs who enjoyed snoozing, but I was happy to go with whatever the dogs wanted. If my dogs needed it, they were bathed outdoors, as my bathroom is small lol.

About: Dogs have been a big part of my life for many years, and I have had four dogs of my own as an adult. This has given me lots of practical, hands-on experience and made me very comfortable caring for dogs with different personalities, routines and needs. I have also looked after friends’ and family members’ dogs in my home, so I understand how important it is to create a calm, safe and caring environment where dogs can feel settled and relaxed. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else, and I would always treat your dog with the same kindness, patience and attention I would want for my own. I am reliable, attentive and genuinely enjoy being around dogs, and I would always aim to make sure your pet feels happy, comfortable and well cared for. I have a flexible routine, so I can make sure pets get the time, care and attention they need. I am happy to work around walks, feeding times and your pet’s usual habits to help them feel comfortable and settled. I have a fenced garden and a friendly pug-cross to keep your pets company. There are also three teenagers at home so the will never be lonely and have lots of attention.

About: Hello! My name is Ross, and the majority of my background is in dog grooming and cat rescue. I have been grooming dogs for five years now, working with everything from tiny old teacup Yorkies, to 90kg Dogue de Bordeaux’s. I absolutely love being able to get to know both the dog’s we care for, and their owners. Being trusted to take care of people’s pets is a privilege, and one I don’t take lightly. I am an easy going person, and find I connect well with animals. I have grown up surrounded by cats, as my parents worked in animal rescue, and we would foster frequently. As a teenager, I regularly bottle fed kittens who were just days old and without their mother. I also have extensive experience with older and disabled cats and dogs, and understand the unique needs of these animals. At home, we have a cat and a dog of our own. Our dog is a 6 year old lab mix, and our cat is a 10 year old tabby. My fiancé is a GB para athlete in wheelchair rugby, and I build my schedule around her. I am typically available during the week, sometimes at relatively short notice for drop in’s and walks, and I’m available some weekends, particularly over the summer and other holidays. Whether you’re looking for somebody to come check on your cat and give them some fuss, or somebody to come give your bouncy dog a walk to tire them out, or anything in between, I’d be happy to hear from you! My partner is a GB para athlete in wheelchair rugby, so I assist her with that on some weekends and evenings. I also still work some hours doing dog grooming. This leaves me with a very flexible schedule throughout the week, especially when my partner is not training. I am free nearly all weekday mornings, and can fit bookings in throughout the day. Let me know what your requirements are, and I’ll do my absolute best to meet them! Drop Ins: I will ensure that doors and windows that lead to the outside are always closed, unless you have a fenced in back garden, where I will make sure dogs are still monitored when outdoors. For cats, particularly indoor cats, our time will be indoors (or in a purpose built catio if you have one) to ensure there is no chance of them getting out of the property. Dog Walking: Your dog will remain on lead at all times, and your house will be locked behind me. If your dog is reactive, requires a muzzle or has any other needs when out walking, please let me know and I will accomodate this. Treats will also always be on hand!

About: I have owned numerous dogs over the years and currently have 2 Labradors. I have taken care of my friends and families dogs when they go on holiday or if they are out for the day and need me to walk or feed their dogs I currently work part time and the time I’m not at work I spend at home or out and about with my 2 Labradors so your dog would just fit in with our daily adventures and routine I have a secure high fenced back garden which is accessed via French doors so your dog can come in and out as they wish. We have lovely off road walks around our area so plenty of adventuring for us to do. My dogs have the full run of my downstairs and are never left alone for longer than a couple of hours should I need to nip out.

About: I am a going into my 4th year of studying veterinary medicine at the university of Liverpool, so have had experience with a variety of animals, and you can ensure your pets happiness and safety is top priority! Doing placements as part of my course has allowed me to develop lots of different skills and knowledge. I have recently just come back from doing placement in Thailand for a month with dogs and cats which I feel has gained me invaluable experience of working with different types of dogs and dealing with different behaviours. I have two dogs myself that I adore, I go above and beyond for my pets and I would certainly do the same for yours! Whether that be the funnest play times and walks or a lovely snuggle. I have plenty of experience administering medications to both dogs and cats too! I am home from university for the summer and I am currently completing placements through the week, but I have evenings and weekends free for your animals! I am flexible to accommodate whatever your dogs needs may be, I am eager to do the best for your animal and I enjoy seeing them doing well.

We arranged for Carol to look after our 12 year old cat whilst we was out of the country. We felt that our cat would be more comfortable at home so we arranged for Carol to pop in twice a day for general care and to give Bingo some TLC. We had a couple of meetings beforehand and I was was instantly blown away by Carols professionalism, empathy and rapport with Bingo. While we were away Carol provided frequent detailed updates about Bingo with plenty of pictures and information. She went above and beyond and even bought him a toy! She had an instant connection with Bingo, which is surprising as he can be very aloof and standoffish with humans. We were completely at ease whilst on holiday knowing that our pet was being looked after by such a fantastic sitter. We would not hesitate to use Carol again and would highly recommend her to anyone who is after a sitter.

Shannon is great, I couldn't recommend her more! She took care of my cat for two weeks, like he was her own pet. Can you expect more from a sitter? :) She is communicative, punctual, reliable, kind and trustworthy. Her every day "reports" from drop-in visits contained everything you would want to know about how your pet is doing - their feel, mood, condition, and so on. Also, she always includes a lot of pictures of our cat, which was the main highlight for us. She's always willing to do that extra mile if you are in need, like add an extra bowl of water or reset an automatic cat feeder that isn't always working flawlessly. Or top it up with cat food. Definitely, I will book her again because I know that my cat is in good hands!

About: Dogs & cats have always been around in my life and I genuinely have a huge spot in my heart for animals. Growing up I loved looking after family & friends pets and exploring new places with them. Both my family and my partners' family have plenty of pets and we love being the favourite big sibling and giving them treats and lots of attention. Our families have lots of dogs of different breeds and we even have our own trained therapy dog Betty (who is Minnie’s best friend and auntie). I love spending my free time in their company and having the best bond with them. Hopefully, I can share that with your pet too! :) I have my own miniature dachshund, Minnie, who is an absolute bundle of joy. She is currently at doggy training school. She will always be with me, so as long as your pet is good with a very typical sausage dog, then I am the right fit for you. I’m currently working full-time, but I WFH so I’m always around for the pooch. I have plenty of breaks in my day to accommodate toilet breaks and walks to stretch their legs. I am the gal for any pet walking needs and drop-in visits to your home. I am a very organised person who loves a routine, so if your dog requires medication etc, I will be very punctual with feeding times etc. I can easily bring a crate and I can bring my pooch with me if you wish, as I know some dogs need other dogs company around humans. Alongside me, my partner loves animals too and will frequently ask to join me on dog walks. This definitely comes in handy for dealing with larger dogs and often helps when dealing with dogs that are more comfortable with male presence.

There are 1,051 sitters on Rover for Cat Sitting in Wakefield. About 92% of Wakefield sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
