Information Nova C. would like to know about your pet

In order to give your pets the best possible experience, and to ensure everyone’s safety, it’s important that you let me know about any medical or behavioural issues. I’m willing to work with fearful or reactive animals, or those with higher care needs, and transparency allows me to judge whether my skill set is a good fit for your pet.

A typical day

The way I interact with your pets will depend entirely on what they like to do! I have plenty of experience providing physical and mental stimulation for animals, and believe both are just as important as each other. I like to walk dogs in places that provide lots of enrichment, so anywhere with good smells, things to look at and explore, and other dogs to socialise with if that’s what they like to do.

Pet care experience

Hi, I’m Nova! I have a lot of experience with fearful, nervous and reactive dogs and some experience with fearful and feral cats, so if you’ve been struggling to find the right pet carer, I might be the perfect fit for you. I’ve been working professionally with animals in various roles since 2007 and have a qualification in animal management. Before starting my own pet care business in 2022, I worked at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home for nearly 6 years, where I helped assess dogs’ behaviour, carried out behaviour modification techniques and prepared them for rehoming. During my time at Battersea I discovered my skill at making friends with dogs that are scared of or reactive to strangers, and I was often called upon to help bring shut down dogs out of their shells. I have also worked in boarding facilities and veterinary practices, and have some basic nursing skills. I’m a firm believer in treating every animal as an individual and I am skilled at identifying the needs of the animals in my care. You won’t see me walking an entire pack of dogs from different households together, because I want to give each animal the attention and care they need and deserve. What you will see me doing is meeting your pets where they are and tailoring my approach with patience and kindness. The ultimate goal for me is to make sure your pets have a great time. I’m not happy until they’re happy!

I am fully insured, DBS checked and CPR & first aid certified.

We have 2 very elderly dogs, who don’t need exercising, but are hard work to look after, and need special care in their own way, as one of our dogs is blind and deaf, with dementia, and the other dog is heading the same way. Through Nova’s love, care and attention, we have 100% peace of mind that the boys are OK while we are on holiday. We have used Nova quite a few times over the years, and I cannot praise or recommend Nova highly enough, like I said in my first review about Nova, our world would be a lot nicer if there were more people like Nova in it.
