About: I've always had dogs in my life. I lost two elderly dogs last year and so badly miss having dogs . I dog sit for our friends dogs whenever possible, but would like to open our home to more. More cuddles, more walks, more mess and more craziness. If you have a dog who needs close attention and wants to feel secure, I can give that care. If your dog needs long walks, I would love that. Our two dogs became infirm when they were old. If you dog needs extra care as an elderly dog, I have the experience. I hold independent comprehensive dog-care insurance. I work part time from home. No routine as such, so I can fit around what your dog needs. Some days are quiet and other days include a long walk and play. We have a large, fenced, dog friendly garden which is completely secure. Your dog will have plenty of room, inside and out. Plus my bed to sleep on, if that is what they like.
“Ivan was incredible from our very first meet and greet, he observed our pup while he walked with us to better understand his needs and walked him to get a feeling for how he behaves, he was available at shirt notice to have our dog for the full day. Made sure to send regular updates and photos of his stay and even introduced him to some new doggy friends in a controlled situation to help with his hypersociality, the app only allows for a fiver star review but I wish it could be higher, cannot thank you enough and we will see you again soon!”

“My greyhound absolutely loved his daycare experience. He was a very happy boy when I picked him up. Excellent communications with Bryony throughout and I felt really comfortable leaving him in her care. Resident hound Rex is gorgeous and really helped my recently adopted rescue boy's confidence. Highly recommended.”

“brilliant personalised care for my beautiful boy. 100% understanding of him and his needs. Lots of lovely pics of him having the time of his life. Very compassionate and caring people who clearly love their charges as much as we owners do. He can't wait to go back!”

About: Pets have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My family has a lovable 11-year-old Labrador whom I helped train from puppyhood — from basic commands to good leash manners. We also shared 18 wonderful years with a gentle British Shorthair cat, so I understand the unique needs of both dogs and cats at every life stage. Whether it’s energetic playtime, patient training, or quiet cuddles, I treat every pet like my own. Your furry family member will get the same love, attention, and care I’ve given my own for decades. Because I work from home, your pet gets my full attention all day. I can easily fit in frequent potty breaks, play sessions, and walks, and I’m always around for company and cuddles. My flexible schedule means I can stick closely to your pet’s routine — whether that’s early morning walks, midday training, or late-night check-ins. Having pets around while I work makes my day better, and I love giving them the same care, patience, and companionship I’ve given my own over the years Whether your pet is staying at my place or I’m visiting yours, they’ll get the same love, attention, and comfort they’re used to. In my home, I make sure there’s plenty of space to play, cozy spots for naps, and a safe, calm environment. I stick to your pet’s routine for feeding, walks, and playtime so they feel secure and happy. When I care for pets in their own home, I keep things consistent — from their favorite walk routes to the way they like their food prepared. My goal is to make every visit or stay feel like home, so your furry friend stays relaxed, loved, and well-cared for.

“Jennifer was amazing! She took my dog out for a swim, which he absolutely loved, and spent lots of time playing with him. I really appreciated all the pictures and video she sent, they were wonderful to receive and showed how much fun he was having. I couldn't be happier with the care she provided especially since it was so last minute!”

About: Hi! My name is Rachel, I am 28 years old and I am a MASSIVE animal lover (especially dogs!) I have grown up around dogs and other animals my whole life and I now have 2 little fur babies of my own! I grew up with 2 cocker spaniels and since moving out of my family home I now have 2 wire haired dachshunds, Roger & Betsy. Both of my dogs are extremely loving, playful and cheeky! They love to play with each other and other dogs. Roger is 2 years old and Betsy is 4 months so we are still going through the puppy training stage. Both of my dogs came to live with me from 8 weeks old and so I have plenty of experience with puppies and puppy training. Despite not living close to them anymore, I still regularly look after my family dogs when my parents are on holiday. Both of them are now elderly and have had their fair share of health problems over the years, this has given me experience of looking after older dogs and administering oral medication. Over the past few years I have looked after dogs of all different sizes and ages for family and friends and I have now decided to use my time wisely and do what I love – being around and caring for dogs! As I already have dogs, my house is full of toys and the cupboards are always full of a variety of dog treats which Roger & Betsy are happy to share. I live within close proximity to lots of walking routes, parks and fields so your pup will never be bored as we have lots of different walking options. I have my own car and as long as you are happy, I am happy to travel with the dogs in my car to visit other walking routes. Please note I do not have a cage in my car but I do have dog seatbelts. I walk my own dogs at least once a day, I am able to walk the dogs at the same time so they can have a good play together, or if you would prefer I can take your dog for a 1-1 walk with myself, just let me know what you would prefer. I encourage Meet & Greet’s beforehand as I want you and your pet to feel comfortable with me and this gives us an opportunity to ask and answer any questions. I also welcome you to view my house and dogs if this would make you more comfortable. Your dog’s welfare is my number one priority and I want all parties involved to feel as safe and comfortable as possible so if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I mostly work from home, and due to the nature of my job I have a lot of free time during the week. This means I am available most days and at home throughout those days to give your dog all the attention they deserve. I have 2 dogs myself and therefore my life already revolves around playing, feeding, walking and cuddling so another dog will fit perfectly into our routine. When I look after a dog, my house is their house! I want the owner to feel comfortable and confident that their dog is safe in my house and I want your dog to feel like they are at home. I live in a 3-floor 3-bedroom house with an average sized garden so there is plenty of room to run around. The garden is completely fenced off and on warmer days I tend to keep the back door open so they can roam in the garden, with fresh water always available. Your dog will be treated how I treat my own dogs (spoilt!) this means that they are allowed to go on the furniture, however I will always respect the owner’s wishes and if you do not want this or have any other rules/preferences then I will do my best to follow these.
“Izabella was wonderful & took fantastic care of my dog! She followed all of the instructions we gave and kept us really well updated. We felt so happy to know that she was in such good hands with Izabella and her sweet son!”

About: I have 4 years experience working with a wide range of animals from guinea pigs to tortoises. I have 1 year experience of specifically working with dogs within a grooming salon where I worked with a variety of breeds and sizes:) I have also had the experience of helping raise a litter of puppies from birth to 8 weeks! I am currently unemployed after finishing my final year of studies. So I have plenty of time during the week to spend time with dogs! I will create a safe and trusting environment with the owners pets by keeping in touch with the owner and being reliable. Also following the owners instructions!

About: I’ve previously volunteered for dogs trust dog school for two years. I stopped once i adopted my own greyhound, keeping me busy for the last 5 years and more to come! I’ve house sat, let out and walked doggies for friends and family over the years. Love any opportunity to meet new furry friends! It’s mostly late mornings onwards on Saturdays, Sundays, and Monday evenings for walks or drop-ins. If your dog is calm and friendly, then I can be more flexible as they can join me with my dog or spend the afternoon with me. Cautious, and experienced with different breeds. I will always follow your instructions for care, socialising and recall (if they are well trained). If we hit it off 🐾 then there maybe the options for afternoons at my calm home, with a fully fenced small garden.

Emily is so good with Jess. She knows when Jess is missing me and ensures she knows she’s cared for at her house too. I know Jess is given all the care and attention she needs to make her feel comfortable and at ease. Emily and her family are great I’m so glad I found Emily on Rover.

Mazie had a lovely day with Olivia. We had a meet and greet beforehand so Mazie would know her when we arrived for the day and she took to Olivia and her dad immediately. I received a couple updates through the day and felt very comfortable leaving my fur-baby with her.

Every time Rory visits Alex & Luke he comes home happy and very tired! He has started to get excited now when we pull onto their street! I am always comfortable leaving Rory in their care even with his nervous temperament. He can’t wait to have his sleepover in December! Thank you!

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Yorkshire and the Humber may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
