“My cats enjoyed their stay with Armish so much, they didn't want to leave! Unfortunately on our way Aslan had weed himself while in his carrier, but this was no problem for Armish who simply bathed him! She also made sure that they were comfortable and sent regular photo and video updates. I won't hesitate using her again, and would recommend her to anyone. Thanks for all your help it was so much appreciated.”

“We would highly recommend Charlotte if you’re looking for a sitter, she was absolutely great from organising a meet and greet and providing regular updates while we were away. Olive had a lovely time and didn’t want to leave when we came to pick her up!”

“Adina and her family are simply the best! They are amazing with our dog Cocoa, who is always so happy and well taken care of! We will continue using her services and can’t recommend her enough!”

“An amazing sitter my babies loved her they had so much fun with Gayoung she kept us updated during the day and took care of them like they were her own will definitely book her again”

“My 2 girls had a lovely 4 night stay both happy got update with pictures and videos every day Jessica and James very lovely couple will definitely use them again 😊”

“Our one year old Labrador really seemed to settle on his boarding with Louisa. Her flat is perfect for a dog that loves outdoor space and Louisa’s communication before and during the stay was excellent. Would highly recommend.”

“We honestly cannot say enough good things about Satinder and her wonderful family. Satinder cared for our beloved family dog, Willow, for 11 days, and loved and cared for her as if she was her own. Willow had the best holiday at Satinder’s home, gained 2 new baby sisters and a new boyfriend (Satinders hubby)! She was happy and contented, had lots of adventures, exciting walks and cuddles. Satinder sent daily pics and messages, and we were so reassured by her communication. Honestly, we cannot believe how lucky we were to find such a beautiful family to look after our little girl 😊 Thank you doesn’t cover it! If you get chance to book with Satinder, your family pet will have the very best time there. Cannot recommend highly enough! ❤️❤️❤️”

“We honestly could not recommend Christian and Fredy enough! Our Ollie is 13 and has only ever been looked after by family and close friends who know him well, so we were understandably apprehensive about leaving him with someone new. From the moment we met Christian and Fredy, though, it was clear just how genuinely warm, thoughtful and caring they are and how much they truly love dogs. They treated Ollie as if he was their own, paying attention to all the little things that make such a difference, and kept us reassured throughout with lovely messages, photos and updates. The best part was seeing Ollie when we got him back – it genuinely felt like he’d been on his own little retreat🤩! He came home perky, bouncy, full of energy and completely his happy old self. They had taken such wonderful care of him, even cleaned red stains around Ollie’s eyes 🙏, and he just looked so happy and well cared for. If Ollie could talk, we’re sure he’d say he can’t wait to go back! We wouldn’t hesitate for a second to leave him with Christian and Fredy again. They are genuinely lovely people with a real warmth and kindness towards dogs, and we feel incredibly lucky to have found them. We can’t thank them both enough for taking such amazing care of our little Ollie. ❤️”

“Our fur baby had never been looked after by anyone other than family before but as it was our daughters wedding and we had to find a dog boarder. We have been so lucky to find Hayley and her partner to look after Bonnie, they made us feel relaxed in leaving her and that it was home from home for her ie sleeping in the sofa and even their bed. We would definitely leave her again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them”

“Ádám was amazing with Valia, she can be very nervous around new people but he managed to make her feel comfortable. The communication was also great and it was lovely to receive pictures! Thanks again for everything!”

“Would 100% recommend Julie as a sitter to anyone!! Such a lovely woman, attention to detail was second to none and nothing was too much of a problem. Our 8 yr old dachshund Draco can be a bit of a handful, but she was amazing with him and he clearly had such a lovely week with Julie as he’s been pining for her since he got home! We got lots of photos and regular updates which was lovely to see, he had lots of walks & little outings, like his own holiday. We even had an issue on day 2 where our arranged care for our other dachshund Luna was no longer an option, and Julie took her on for the rest of the week as well! I had nothing to worry about in terms of their care all week as they were clearly so well looked after and loved. I will absolutely be rebooking with Julie for future stays, a little home from home for both our dogs 💕”

“Dawn was fantastic! She was very accommodating to my needs and what was needed for the dogs. She provided updates and took great care of them both! Would definitely reccomend!”

“Bella had an amazing time with Jessica, I could tell how happy she had been there when I went to collect her as Bella kept going back for cuddles 🤍 I got regular updates to let me know how Bella was doing, and I defiantly will be using Jessica again in the future, highly recommended dog sitter, thank you again x”

About: I grew up with a Sheltie and a mixed-breed dog, and through years of living closely with them, I developed a deep understanding of animals' emotional and physical needs. This lifelong bond has shaped the way I care for every pet, treating them with the same love and attention I would give my own. In addition to my own dogs, I've cared for many breeds including Dobermans, Corgis, Poodles, Huskies, and Border Collies, as well as cats. I always aim to create a safe, happy, and loving environment for each pet while their owners are away. Your pets are in experienced, caring hands! I work from home and am available to provide dedicated pet care. Your pets will receive my full attention, with flexible scheduling for walks, visits, and cuddles! There would be no other pets in the my accommodation, ensuring a peaceful environment and avoiding any potential pet conflicts. When staying with pets, I make sure they feel comfortable, relaxed, and safe - I aim to provide same love and care to your pets as you provided for them. I will stick to their usual routines, from feeding times to favourite toys and sleeping spots. I will also ensure they get plenty of attention, exercise if needed, and, of course, affection, just as if they were my own.
“Martha was fantastic as always and took very good care of our pup. She is very accommodating and willing to work around what is easiest for you. Great service and a lovely person, highly recommend!!!!! 🐾”

“Brilliant. My senior rescue was at home with Thomas almost immediately and from the photos he was absolutely chilled and enjoyed himself the whole weekend. Thomas kept me updated, went out of his way to make sure he drank during the heatwave and dropped him off to save me a pet cab. Highly recommended dog sitter and an excellent bloke all round :) See you again!!”

Ozzie has had the best time at Deirdre’s, he was very excited to see us but you could tell he had been well looked after. We enjoyed our updates from Deirdre, it made being away from him much easier as we could see how settled he was, with Deirdre & other dogs. Have no hesitation to book again ❤️🐶

Natalia kept in contact throughout Elsa’s stay Lovely girl very patient and took Elsa’s needs into consideration during her stay Elsa can be a fussy eater but must of felt at home as there was no problems We would definitely leave Elle in Natalia’s care again if she would be willing to have her Many thanks Natalia🙂

Darcey stayed for 5 nights and she settled very quickly thanks to Lindsey and her partner who are clearly very experienced dog sitters. They kept us up to date with photos and messages and we were confident that Darcey was being looked after in the very hot weather. Buster is clearly used to having visitors and he and Darcey got along together - looking forward to the debut album!! We would have no problems recommending Lindsey to anyone

Louisa was fantastic with our dog even though he’s not so trusting of new people. She was extremely patient and kind with him even when he was struggling to go out for walks with her. Took a lot of stress off of our shoulders while we were on holiday, highly recommend!

We left our 1 year old Golden, Clover, with Marcello over night recently and couldn't be happier with our experience. He was keen to meet Clover ahead of the stay and understand about her temprament and what would be best for her. He followed all of our guidance and kept us updated with how she was getting on regularly. And was very quick to communicate with us. We'll absolutely book with him again.

Beata looked after our lively spaniel recently & did a great job - she took her out for her regular walks & sent me daily updates / photos 😊 Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for dog boarding in the local area. Thanks Beata for doing such a lovely job with Ally x
Andi was amazing at looking after our dog, Ralph, while we were away on holiday. During the heatwave, she took great care to keep him comfortable, making sure he had early morning walks and plenty of lovely cold treats to help him stay cool. She kept us updated throughout with photos and messages about all his activities, which gave us real peace of mind. I would highly recommend Andi to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter, and we’ll definitely be booking her to look after Ralph again whenever we travel.

We couldn’t have asked for a better person to look after our dog while we were away on holiday for a week. She is incredibly friendly, caring, and clearly loves animals. She kept us updated every single day with photos and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind knowing our dog was happy and well looked after. It was obvious our dog was receiving lots of love and attention throughout the stay. We would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter. Thank you so much!

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Yorkshire and the Humber may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
