“Emma and family have been great looking after Luna our one year old springador. Excellent communicator and really accommodating with pick up and drop off times. Will continue to use Emma for all our future dog sitting and recommend her to others as well.”

“Anca was so friendly on first arrival. She was so reassuring with me and my dog both being pretty anxious as she never stays out she kept me updated with pictures and text messages from the minute we left! Would definitely use anca again! One happy dog owner 🤩🤩🤩🤩”

“Claudia and the family were outstanding. The space is a dream for any dog. Super safe and brilliant for dogs who love the outdoors. Regular communication and really helped me out with a last minute request. 10/10”

“I felt very secure leaving Tilly with Luke. I felt confident leaving Tilly in the care of someone kind, calm, and knowledgeable about dogs and their welfare. It was wonderful to get updates and photos of her while I was away, too. Luke will always be my first choice for looking after Tilly while I am away; I have no hesitation in recommending him! Tilly was taken to the local Christmas fair for her off-leash runs and lead walks and also bought a treat, which was much appreciated. Thanks again, Luke and partner”

“Matilda had a wonderful holiday with Carol. Carol is a lovely lady who loves dogs. She provides them with a caring 'home from home'. Thank you for looking after Matilda. We will definitely be using Carol again.”

“Tom & Laura, Thank you for being a wonderful host to our 2 Boston Terriers. Our first meeting was greeted with warmth from the start and gave us confidence to leave our dogs with you. We felt at ease and reassured that our dogs would be left in a loving home whilst we were away for 5 days. It was great to regularly receive updates via texts along with pictures of them out on walks and playing in a safe and secure garden. What was really nice was the feedback about our dogs it was so accurate and this showed us you had taken the time to get to known their behaviours and characters. We would have no hesitation leaving our dogs with you again when we go away on our summer hols or any short breaks in the future. We have no doubts they enjoyed their stay with you all and would 100% recommend you to our family & friends. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for looking after our dogs who are our family. ♥️ Hughie & Rachelle”

“Joe & Anna were amazing with Lola, they spoilt her all weekend and she had a lovely time! We looked forward to the regular updates, pictures and videos, it really helped our worries about leaving her as she had the best holiday and was very settled and happy. She was so tired when she got back home as she’d had so many walks and lots of fun ! Would definitely book again. Thankyou!”

“Danielle was fantastic with our dog, from the first meet and greet to having him while we were away. Plenty of updates so we could see how he was getting on. He was treated like he was their own pet and would not hesitate to book again.”
“Jack was absolutely brilliant with our cocker spaniel. He put my mind at rest when we visited and Red settled at his house immediately. We got daily updates and photos, showing Red was having a great time with him. He clearly knows how to deal with looking after other people's pets with patience, understanding and knowledge. I highly recommend him and Red can't wait for our next trip away.”

About: Hello, I'm Ashley! I'm a huge dog lover and proud auntie to a gorgeous Cavapoo, so I know just how much our four-legged family members mean to us. Having used boarding services ourselves, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust and who will keep you updated while you're away. After 15 years as a teacher, I recently started my own business working from home. As a DBS-checked professional, I'm organised, reliable and used to caring for others. I bring that same level of responsibility and attention to every dog I look after. Working from home also means I have the flexibility to provide plenty of company, care and attention throughout the day. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, house sitting and boarding. Whether your dog is happiest staying in the comfort of their own home or enjoying a home-from-home stay with me, I'll always take the time to understand their routine, personality and individual needs. I live in a detached house with a secure enclosed garden in a lovely village, surrounded by parks and open fields; perfect for enriching walks and adventures. I'm an active person who enjoys running, football and spending time outdoors, so whether your dog prefers energetic walks or a slower pace, I'll make sure they get the exercise and attention that's right for them. I know every dog is different, which is why I'm always happy to arrange a meet and greet beforehand. It's a great opportunity for us to get to know one another, make sure we're the right fit and ensure your dog will feel comfortable and settled in my care. I'll always treat your dog with kindness, patience and respect and you will receive regular photo updates so you can relax knowing they're happy, safe and well looked after. As I work from home, pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I have the flexibility to plan my day around walks, visits and quality time with the dogs in my care, ensuring they receive plenty of attention and aren't left alone for long periods. I love spending time outdoors, whether that's exploring local parks and countryside or simply enjoying a stroll around the village, so walks are something I genuinely look forward to every day. I can also be flexible to accommodate your dog's usual routine wherever possible. Every dog is different, so I always take the time to get to know their personality, routine and any specific needs before caring for them. I'll follow your instructions carefully, whether that's feeding times, walking preferences, medication, favourite toys or bedtime routines, to help your dog feel as settled and comfortable as possible. In my own home, dogs will have access to a secure enclosed garden and plenty of companionship throughout the day, as I work from home. My home is clean, calm and located in a lovely village with easy access to parks and countryside walks. If I'm caring for your dog in your home, I'll treat both your pet and your home with the utmost respect. I'll keep everything clean and tidy, stick to your dog's normal routine as closely as possible, and make sure your pet receives lots of care, attention and regular exercise. Before any booking, I'm always happy to arrange a meet and greet. It's a great way for us to get to know each other, answer any questions and make sure we're all comfortable that it's the right fit for both you and your dog.

“So happy we chose Ruth to look after Alfie. A lovely, friendly lady who obviously enjoys what she does and most importantly, we've picked up a happy healthy dog - who just wanted one more game of Frisby with her before coming home! Will definitely use Ruth again.”

“We had "meet n greet" beforehand which went well. Our dog stayed overnight and we were kept up to date on his well being and how he'd settled. Pics, vids and messages were sent to us. Would definitely use again and recommend 👍”

“Evie gives out a very calm aura which was very therapeutic for our 2 dogs, who thoroughly enjoyed their stay and didn't seem to miss us 1 bit. She was very mindful of the weather, caring and welcoming. She let the dogs feel at home. We certainly would ask Evie to help us out again as Piggly Wiggly and Charlie would love another holiday with her! Linda and Paddy”

“Kate clearly adores dogs and her home was filled with so much warmth and pup love. She sent regular updates and pictures and was incredibly accommodating when our return home was delayed, extending our booking by an extra day at short notice. Emma and her family welcomed Otis with open arms. I felt at ease dropping him, regular updates and how happy he was upon collection confirmed why we had chosen Emma to have him. It was so important to us, due to our wedding weekend and we couldn’t be happier. Would highly recommend and would definitely use again! Thank you xx

Rita was the perfect sitter for our Ernie. I was very anxious about leaving him with someone outside of the family for the 1st time & Ernie was only a pup. But she kept us up to date with messages & pictures while we were away. Which put my mind at ease. Ernie settled in well & was very happy with Rita.. Will deffinatly be using her again..😀

Could not recommend Caysey more. You can tell she has such a genuine love for dogs and is incredibly caring. She looked after Toffee for one night, and as he has quite bad separation anxiety, I was naturally a little worried. But it was clear how settled and comfortable he was with Caysey from the start. He got plenty of attention, lots of love, and even made a new friend in Pablo! When she dropped him back off, I honestly think he wanted to go home with her instead 🤣. Thank you so much for taking such good care of him. we'll definitely be booking again!

Lily and Joe were amazing with Ember, thank you so much for your care with little Miss Em's. She looked so comfortable with you both and very happy to be with you both very quickly. Looking forward to seeing you again sometime soon. Thanks again Ember, Linda and family x
Harry and Floz were amazing with Freddie. We’re always a little nervous when leaving Fred as he can get anxious in new places but we were put at ease straight away..they were both externally friendly and embraced Fred for his goofy excitedness. We were sent plenty of updates and photos and Freddie seemed to feel right at home! We’ve already got him rebooked with them both and I’m sure Fred’s looking forward to his next stay.

We are so happy to have found Florence and Harry! Such a kind and caring duo to have placed our two Frenchies in the care of. We were sent wonderful pics of them both thoroughly enjoying their stay and we are so grateful for the love they showed our dogs. We cannot be any happier so we will book again, this time for a home stay to look after all our three dogs and cat. Perfect!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Yorkshire and the Humber may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
