“What a lovely family who have looked after Mabel like she was their own. I have had some amazing updates of the adventures Mabel was taken on and she looked so happy on them all. When I went to pick Mabel up she was wondering round the house like she lived there, no better feeling than knowing your dog feels safe. I would use Emma and her lovely family to look after Mabel again without thinking twice. Thank you all for the fab experience.”

“Claudia and the family were outstanding. The space is a dream for any dog. Super safe and brilliant for dogs who love the outdoors. Regular communication and really helped me out with a last minute request. 10/10”

“Our Frenchie Daisy had such a lovely time with Anca and her family. She was extremely well looked after and treated as one of their own family. We received updates, picture and videos throughout her stay and can honestly say that we were in no doubt at anytime about how well she was cared for. Thank you so much Anca, Daisy cannot wait to stay again 😁”

“Excellent as always - Clementine always seems really settled and Gemma is great at adapting to Clem’s needs (e.g. Gemma did a fab job of keeping Clem cooling in the recent heatwave)”

“Enzo had a lovely time with Luke and Karolina and from all the updates we received while we were away we definitely felt like he was being very well looked after. Enzo has a very specific diet and daily hygiene routine - all of our instructions were followed to the letter. I would definitely go to Luke and Karolina again and we also found the collection/pick up service that they offer extremely helpful.”

“Joe & Anna were amazing with Lola, they spoilt her all weekend and she had a lovely time! We looked forward to the regular updates, pictures and videos, it really helped our worries about leaving her as she had the best holiday and was very settled and happy. She was so tired when she got back home as she’d had so many walks and lots of fun ! Would definitely book again. Thankyou!”

“Lovely family and really cared for my Iris bedlington terrier. Sent lots of photos which really reassured us as it was the first time we have left her behind and was quite nervous and sad about leaving her. Can't recommend Kirsty and the rest of her wonderful family and will definitely be using their services if and when we next dare go away!”

“Freddie has just come back from a short stay at Carol's, where he was made well and truly at home. He clearly revelled in all the attention he got. It's nice to feel confident that he is in such good hands and he will certainly look forward to his next holiday. Thank you!”
“Honestly could not be happier with how Toby looked after my black Labrador Bailey whilst we were on holiday, lots of walks, lots of photos of him doing his favourite things ( swimming & eating sausages in cafe’s ❤️😂) highly recommended and we would love for Toby to look after Bailey again ❤️”

“Tom & Laura, Thank you for being a wonderful host to our 2 Boston Terriers. Our first meeting was greeted with warmth from the start and gave us confidence to leave our dogs with you. We felt at ease and reassured that our dogs would be left in a loving home whilst we were away for 5 days. It was great to regularly receive updates via texts along with pictures of them out on walks and playing in a safe and secure garden. What was really nice was the feedback about our dogs it was so accurate and this showed us you had taken the time to get to known their behaviours and characters. We would have no hesitation leaving our dogs with you again when we go away on our summer hols or any short breaks in the future. We have no doubts they enjoyed their stay with you all and would 100% recommend you to our family & friends. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for looking after our dogs who are our family. ♥️ Hughie & Rachelle”

“Jack was fantastic with Freddie. We got regular updates of their time and Fred came back exhausted after a couple of adventures. We’ll definitely be using Jack again and I’m sure Fred will be excited to stay again!”

“Bobby was so excited when he realised we were visiting Helena. Another amazing stay for Bobby such a happy puppy when I picked him up. Bobby clearly loves staying with Helena and I always get loads of pupdates with photos of Bobby having loads of fun. He does pine a little when we get home and goes looking for Helena but that’s only because she clearly takes care of him and he loves spending time there. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone needing a pet sitter.”

“Daniel was very approachable and agreed to an initial meet with Henry in a park to answer our questions pre booking - this was very appreciated. Daniel made it very easy for pick up/drop off and it felt like Henry was in really good hands based on Daniel’s previous work with working dogs/high drive dogs. Usually after staying with family, Henry returns with pent up energy and anxiety but this time he returned calm and happy. We’d absolutely recommend!”

“We are so grateful to Ruth for taking care of Rolo and for keeping us updated on how Rolo was doing. It was clear to see that Rolo was having a great time and was able to be his usual cheeky self with her. Highly recommend Ruth. She’s so lovely and caring. Thanks Ruth!”

“Mika has had a fantastic weekend with Joanne and her family including trips out to a fair, a dog show and even a duck race. Lots of pictures of Mika's adventures were sent too. She is one happy, tired dog. Jo also has a very large enclosed garden, which is perfect for dogs. Will definitely book again. Thank you Jo”

“Megan is absolutely brilliant! We had our very typical border collie stay with her overnight. She's 8 years and never been with anyone but us, so naturally we were a bit apprehensive. Jess is a very typical Border collie, neurotic, incredibly intelligent, very anxious, and quirky. We met with Megan and her 2 gorgeous dogs the week before and we could tell she really cared for them. Megan immediately put us at ease and we knew she was in good hands. Drop off was great, and there was plenty of space with lots of room to run around. I gave her the instructions for Jess' food and away we went. Not once did we worry about Jess, I probably worried about Megan more. She sent us a couple of photos to show she had settled in, and you could tell Jess was happy. When we picked her up, Jess came to the door, saw us and went back in! You could tell she had been very well looked after, and Jess was very relaxed and happy. I couldn't ask for anything better. Jess got home and promptly fell asleep, a very happy dog. It's so reassuring to know that someone loves Jess as much as we do. We will not hesitate to use Megan again. Amazing dog sitter, and will do anything to make sure your dog is happy. Thanks again Megan.”

Couldn’t ask for a better person to look after Lenny! Eve was incredible with Lenny and sent lots of updates during his stay! She made sure he was the best smelling, most handsome dog for our wedding too which was so thoughtful! We’ll be back soon - Lenny is already missing his lil sis Narla! Thank you, Eve!!!

Rita was the perfect sitter for our Ernie. I was very anxious about leaving him with someone outside of the family for the 1st time & Ernie was only a pup. But she kept us up to date with messages & pictures while we were away. Which put my mind at ease. Ernie settled in well & was very happy with Rita.. Will deffinatly be using her again..😀

Could not recommend Caysey more. You can tell she has such a genuine love for dogs and is incredibly caring. She looked after Toffee for one night, and as he has quite bad separation anxiety, I was naturally a little worried. But it was clear how settled and comfortable he was with Caysey from the start. He got plenty of attention, lots of love, and even made a new friend in Pablo! When she dropped him back off, I honestly think he wanted to go home with her instead 🤣. Thank you so much for taking such good care of him. we'll definitely be booking again!

Lily and Joe were amazing with Ember, thank you so much for your care with little Miss Em's. She looked so comfortable with you both and very happy to be with you both very quickly. Looking forward to seeing you again sometime soon. Thanks again Ember, Linda and family x
Harry and Floz were amazing with Freddie. We’re always a little nervous when leaving Fred as he can get anxious in new places but we were put at ease straight away..they were both externally friendly and embraced Fred for his goofy excitedness. We were sent plenty of updates and photos and Freddie seemed to feel right at home! We’ve already got him rebooked with them both and I’m sure Fred’s looking forward to his next stay.

We are so happy to have found Florence and Harry! Such a kind and caring duo to have placed our two Frenchies in the care of. We were sent wonderful pics of them both thoroughly enjoying their stay and we are so grateful for the love they showed our dogs. We cannot be any happier so we will book again, this time for a home stay to look after all our three dogs and cat. Perfect!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Yorkshire and the Humber may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
