“Would highly recommend saffron to anybody that needs to leave there pets or houses in the hands of a very capable lady. From the day we had the meet and greet we knew she was going to be perfect and she didn’t let us down. We booked for a 10 day house sit to care for our dog Nyla and cat Blue. She did a fantastic job with regular contact and photos. The animals loved her and she left the house tidy. Can’t fault her . We will definitely be booking her again . 5 stars all round ⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟🌟🌟⭐️⭐️”

“I dont know what I'd do without Faye. Coco is a picky customer and she has warmed up to Faye demanding cuddles and attention. I dont have worries that Coco maybe feeling anxious or bored at all. At the end of the sit, Coco always seems happy and full of content. Faye is the perfect sitter, puts effort in to making sure Coco is happy and well looked after and she even tidied up and left the house lovely and clean. Thanks for being brilliant Faye! Xx”

“Jordan was wonderful with Satan and took great care of both her and my home. Communication was easy, I received regular updates and photos, and I came home to a happy cat. I wouldn’t hesitate to have Jordan stay again and would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.”

“Katrina is a very pleasant young lady who looked after our Cockapoo in our home for 7 days (and put up with all his shenanigans). She sent us regular updates and photos and even watered our plants! We will definitely use Katrina again.”

About: Eager to get some more reviews, hence why prices are lower. Happy to do meet and greets! I’ve had dogs for the past 13 years of my life. I’ve taken care of cats and dogs both in the UK and abroad. I trained my dog and taught her all the basics including how to roll over - definitely not a professional trainer though, but I’ll have a go. Excited to meet your pets! I have a flexible university schedule and would love some time to unwind spent with animals! I usually have a day off of uni as well as a free weekend but am happy to commute from further out of Leeds for my studies if my care involves a longer stay. I am happy to either check in on/stay full time at your house to look after your pets. I want to tailor my care to what each pet needs so everyone can have the best experience!
“Lizzi was great, very conscientious and sent plenty of updates. I know she looked after our pups really well giving me great peace of mind. I would have no hesitation booking again for house sitting 🤩”

“Sophie was amazing from start to finish. Her communication was excellent, and she kept us updated with regular photos and messages throughout our puppy's stay, which gave us real peace of mind. Our puppy was so well looked after, and we couldn't be happier with the care he received. We would definitely recommend Sophie and will be booking with her again!”

“At short notice, Bambi came through for us to look after our dogs, Mia and Milo. Had great feed back during her time with Mia n Milo, with constant communication and pictures. They had a great time with walks and cuddles.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five-Star Review for Caitlin – The Best Dog Sitter Ever! Don’t want to shoot myself in the foot by leaving this review as I want to gate keep this wonderful person to myself …but simply cannot as wouldn’t be fair .😂 Caitlin is an absolute gem of a dog sitter! Her attention to detail is truly unmatched—she notices everything, anticipates needs before they arise, and makes sure your fur babies are cared for exactly how you’d want. She’s wonderfully punctual, reliable, and so easy to trust from the very first moment. On top of that, Caitlin is a gorgeous person inside and out—warm, kind, and someone your dog will adore instantly. And the updates… wow! Photos, messages, little stories—updates galore that keep you smiling and totally at ease while you’re away. If you want someone who treats your dog like family, Caitlin is the one. Highly, highly recommended! 🐾💛”

“Lois recently looked after my dog coco in my home and I couldn’t recommend her enough. She paid attention to cocos needs, went above and beyond when she was being a diva and sent regular pictures and updates on how she was getting on. Thank you Lois for taking such great care of my girl! Xx”

About: I'm currently a student Occupational Therapist who is really missing my family's pets while I'm at uni! 🐾 I love animals and know how important they are as valued members of the family! As a teenager I volunteered for the Cats Protection League and would clean litter trays for people in my local area who couldn't do so themselves. I would often dogsit for neighbours, and have even looked after someone's pet frogs before! 🐾 I adapt to whatever style of care your pet needs - some pets value calm and slow paced interactions, and some pets seem to have unlimited amounts of energy! My goal is to keep your pet happy in a style that is closest to their normal. 🐾 I am a very clean person, who will send regular updates via text and video. I have a fully enhanced DBS, and solid references :) 🐾 It's currently the summer holidays at University, so my schedule is completely flexible! I am doing a lot of studying at the moment, which can be done with your pet if they need extra company or supervision 🤓📖 I volunteer at my local community garden for a few hours a week, but this is flexible. I'll happily send update videos and pictures, and will always make sure you know what's going on. I understand that pets feel upset when their family leave for a trip, so I try to make the experience a positive one!
“Can’t recommend Charlotte enough. She came to meet Albie pre-visit, made sure she fully understood his routine and gave amazing updates with pictures whilst we away. Will be looking to book again”

“Eloise was superb at looking after our cat and dog. She was very attentive to all the quirks of the house and of the animals' personalities and regularly updated us throughout our holiday with plenty of pictures and messages, which were really appreciated and put our mind at ease! We are so glad to have found Eloise and would highly recommend her services.”

About: Hi, I'm Rosa, and I've absolutely loved cats for as long as I can remember. They've always been a big part of my life and I find their company so comforting and joyful. I grew up with my cat Lulu from the age of 4 till 20, so I am very used to caring for cats at all stages of life and understand how important it is for them to feel comfortable, safe and well cared for. I currently work as a consultant, and outside of work I really enjoy spending time with animals. I have also often cared for cats belonging to family and friends, whether that is cleaning their litter trays, feeding them or keeping them company while their owners are away. I love getting to know each cats individual personality, whether they are playful, cuddly or more independent.
“Freya did a good job of looking after my greyhound Lando, as well as the house. She communicated well, relying to messages in good time and keeping me updated with news and photos. Would use again.”

About: I've grown up with cats and dogs, so being around animals has always been a big part of my life. I have experience caring for friends and families pets whilst they’ve been away so their pets could be at home. My first part-time job was at a veterinary practice, where I gained valuable experience caring for animals. I genuinely love spending time with pets and understand how important it is for them to feel safe, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away. I’m currently between jobs so have plenty of time to care and play with pets! Therefore my schedule is very flexible for pet sitting and dog walking. I want to try and replicate a pet owners routine as much as possible to keep the pets comfortable and happy. I enjoy long walks and playing games as well as cuddling up to the pets in the evening!
“What a legend. Stepped in very last minute to watch Archie and Maverick for me so I could travel for the weekend. Stayed at mine as well and kept in constant contact with pics and updates. Thanks Megan. Truly appreciated. 🫶🏻”

Wow! What an amazing experience we have had! Saffron has been incredible we received daily updates and our boy Frank has been so well looked after. Our house looks just like we left It! We can’t thank you enough! And we will definitely use you again! Thank you once again! Also Frank was very disappointed to see us instead of you🤣🤍

This was the first time we’d ever left our kitten, Elchi, so I was incredibly nervous about going away. Olivia arranged a meet and greet beforehand, which immediately put us at ease and gave us confidence that Elchi would be in great hands. Olivia stayed in our home for 5 days, followed Elchi’s routine perfectly, and treated her with so much love and care. We received regular updates, photos and videos throughout our trip, which really helped us relax knowing she was happy and well looked after. It was obvious that Olivia genuinely cared about Elchi and made sure she felt safe, comfortable and loved while we were away. We came home to a happy, relaxed cat and a spotless house. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better first experience with a cat sitter. Olivia is kind, reliable, trustworthy and clearly has a real love for animals. We will definitely be booking with her again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for someone to care for their pet. Thank you so much, Olivia! 🐾❤️

Sophie came to our house to meet our 3 dogs prior to the booking to make sure we were all happy with the arrangement. Our 3 dogs immediately loved her so we knew we’d found someone who loved dogs and would be perfect to look after our fur babies while we were away. Despite us having a very demanding 15 year old yorkie this didn’t put her off. Sophie came to our house the evening before we set off as we had an early morning flight and she again bonded with our dogs before going to bed and us leaving in the early hours of the morning. Sophie kept in touch while we were away and sent us photos showing our girls doing ok and just being themselves. We got home in the early hours of this morning 2 August and our girls were pleased to see us and you could see they’d been well looked after. When Sophie got up this morning and came down they were so please to see her so she’s clearly been a big hit with them. I would definitely recommend Sophie to look after your fur babies, she clearly loves dogs and they love her. I will definitely use her services again if she’s available when we need a sitter. Thanks Sophie you’ve made 3 new friends in our fur babies
Despite a last minute emergency request, Johara has been so kind and accommodating to watch after our Frenchie with disabilities for the first time. She communicated and updated us very clearly and have taken such great care of our fur baby. We not only came home to a happy, clean, and healthy dog but our house was left in tidy conditions. I would recommend Johara to anyone and we will definitely get in touch again in the future. Thank you Johara for helping us out at such a time in need!

Liam took great care of Rufus, Maisie and Winnie for an overnight stay at our house. Our miniature poodle is very nervous around new people but Liam’s calm approach helped her to settle. We got plenty of updates and photos as requested. We’re now looking forward to a week away in September knowing they’ll be well looked after.

Julie looked after our little dog Winnie for a week while we were away, and she was absolutely fantastic. She sent regular updates, including videos and lots of pictures, which really helped us relax and fully enjoy our holiday knowing Winnie was in such good hands. Julie clearly bonded so well with Winnie, and it was obvious how much Winnie loved being looked after by her. It made such a difference seeing how happy and comfortable she was. She also took great care of our home and was such a lovely, trustworthy person. We couldn’t recommend her highly enough and will 100% be booking her again for our next holiday.

I have no words other than WOW and THANK YOU to Caitlin! This was my first time using Rover and my first time leaving Ted with a professional dog sitter rather than friends or family so I was naturally quite nervous. Caitlin immediately put me at ease with her warm, bubbly personality and from the moment we met I knew Ted was in safe hands. Ted is usually quite an anxious dog with separation anxiety, but from the moment I left he settled so quickly and looked genuinely happy and relaxed. Seeing that gave me so much reassurance. Caitlin kept me updated throughout his stay with lots of lovely photos and messages and it was clear he was having the best time :D! He enjoyed plenty of walks, lots of love and attention and was so well looked after. Caitlin is an absolute superstar. I genuinely couldn’t recommend her highly enough… although part of me wanted to gatekeep her all to myself! 😂 Thank you again for taking such amazing care of my little Ted ❤️

Booked Izzy for dog sitting our cocker spaniel Burtie at relatively short notice. He took a liking to her immediately and was relaxed and comfortable having received regular updates and photos. Izzy was professional and kept our house very clean and tidy for us to return to. Would highly recommend.

Ruby was wonderful with our 13 week old Labrador puppy, Crumpet. She looked after him so well, and it was clear he was happy being with her. The updates and photos were really appreciated and gave us peace of mind. We wouldn’t hesitate to leave Crumpet with Ruby again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy sitter. Thank you, Ruby!

Great service from Megan. She came to meet the dogs before the visit and they were at ease with her straight away. She worked around what the dogs needed to make sure they were well looked after. The house was also neat and tidy when we got back. We would absolutely use again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Leeds walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Leeds choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
