“Helen and Andy were absolutely amazing with our dog, Kobe! This was Kobe’s first time staying away from home, so we were a bit nervous— especially since he’s an energetic miniature cockapoo, but they made the entire experience really good and reassuring. From the start, it was clear they were both experienced with handling high-energy dogs. Kobe instantly took to them, which says a lot. They kept him active, engaged, and happy the whole time, and we could tell he was getting plenty of attention and care. We also really appreciated the regular updates—they gave us peace of mind knowing Kobe was doing great and having fun (especially playing with Bonnie!). We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Helen and Andy again! Thank you!”

About: I have loved all animals since a small child. I grew up with a west highland terrier, my brother had Rottweilers and I’ve helped look after neighbours dogs including labradors. I’ve been on borrow my doggie the last few years having looked after a whole range of dogs, including a rescue. I’m looking forward to looking after dogs on Rover now, too! I work full time, but I already have morning, lunchtime and evening walks (I jokingly describe myself as a dog!). Kirkstall Abbey and Becketts park are both less than 10 minutes to get to by foot - but I do have a car too for longer journeys. I’m in a flat, but it’s large and has a nice communal garden, my neighbours do have two very cute Maltese dogs, so any dog I care for will need to be friendly with other dogs. My flat is large and I have a nice medium sized fenced and gated communal garden. Any dogs I look after will get regular toilet breaks and walks. I don’t have any pets of my own at the moment, so your dog will get all of my attention!
“Bruno was very happy after staying with Lindsay for the weekend. Lindsay clearly loves dogs and looks after them well. She is very responsive to messages and I am so grateful for her looking after Bruno.”

“Our one year old Labrador really seemed to settle on his boarding with Louisa. Her flat is perfect for a dog that loves outdoor space and Louisa’s communication before and during the stay was excellent. Would highly recommend.”

About: **Pricing below includes a 15% booking fee & an additional 15% fee they deduct from each booking I make!** ( Due to having chronic health issues, I am unable to dogsit for long periods of time.) I'm Addie, 32, she/they. I have experience with multiple dog breeds, from jack russels and staffys, to huskies and westies, to lurchers and pugs. From a young age I took an interest in dogs and I consider them my soul animals. As a child, I started training my Grandma's dogs and then my own family dogs. I've enjoyed learning about dogs behaviours, cues and psychology which gives me a better understanding of each individual animal. I had my own dog, up until 2 years ago as she passed away and so I have experience of being the sole carer of a pet dog. I'm always my friends and families go to person for dog sitting and I've been called a "dog whisperer". One of the proudest things I can say is that all animals trust me and that is such an honour! I live in a warm and compassionate shared house with 3 other dog lovers. Everyone mostly works from home so there will never be a shortage of cuddles and attention. At the moment, I don't work due to chronic health issues, so I have a lot of free time (depending on whether I'm having a bad flare up or not). Because of this, all my love and attention is on caring for the pets I look after. I tend to only ever look after one dog at a time, so I can give them my full attention. In my household there are no other animals or any children. I don't have an enclosed garden but I'm happy to take them to the toilet as many times as they need on the lead. There are several grass sections and woodland right next to my house. I always wants dogs to feel like my home is their home and that includes going on the sofa and bed.
“So friendly and brilliant with my doggies. Had loads of pictures sent through whilst I was away 😊 The doggies well and truly looked like they were on their holidays too! Would recommend to anyone 👍”

“Pearl watched my 6 month old puppy for 2 nights he came back really happy, Pearl kept me updated with everything, He enjoyed himself and got on with Milo really well would definitely recommend and book again!”

“Our initial dog sitter fell through last minute, so by the time we found Lois we were already feeling extremely anxious about leaving Dino behind for the first time and were genuinely questioning whether we should even go away at all. From the moment we met her, Lois completely put us at ease with her calm, kind and reassuring nature. It was immediately obvious how much she genuinely cares for animals, and Dino absolutely adored both her and her beautiful gentle pup. During Dino’s stay, Lois looked after him with so much love, patience and attention, treating him as if he were her own. She also took on an unexpected medication regimen that was only introduced on the very day he went into her care, and handled everything without hesitation or complaint. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her. She kept us constantly updated with messages, photos and reassurance throughout the week, which made such a difference and allowed us to finally relax knowing Dino was in such safe and caring hands. We truly could not have asked for a better experience and feel incredibly grateful that we found Lois when we did. We would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, compassionate and reliable to care for their pet, and she would absolutely be our first choice again in the future.”

“Charlotte and Josh looked after our Havanese, Chipper, while we were on a family holiday. We took Chipper for a short visit before we went away so that they could meet each other. Charlotte and Josh were brilliant and Chipper appeared to feel right at home. While we were away, Charlotte kept us up to date and Chipper seemed to love her walks with her and Josh. I don’t think Chipper missed us at all due to the fun and comfort she felt with Charlotte and Josh!”

“Danielle had our sprocker Murphy over night for the first time this week and he seemed to settle really well. We had photos and messages updating us on how Murphy was getting on. I’d use Danielle for future overnight stays and dog walking. Thank you Danielle”

“Beata and her daughter welcomed my very attached cockapoo into their home for a few days and did a wonderful job looking after her. My pup was really comfortable and relaxed with them from the moment they were introduced and they take their roles as dog carers seriously and professionally. Such lovely people with a natural affinity for dogs. Beata took my pup for walks in the countryside and they clearly showered her with attention and affection. I highly recommend Beata as a sitter.”

“Alfie, my cockapoo, loved his stay with Eunice. In fact, he didn't want to come home! He was really well looked after and I appreciated the regular updates with photos as I could relax whilst on holiday knowing he was in safe hands. Eunice is a natural with dogs and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her. Thank you!”

“Leo really enjoyed his stay with Jacqui! He had some lovely long walks at the Chevin and along the banks. Jacqui kept us updated on how Leo was doing and treated him like she would her own dog! We’ll definitely be rebooking with Jacqui in future.”

“Buddy had a lovely time, Alison was fab in keeping us up to date on his adventures with pics and videos and he was tired out when he came home! He can’t wait to go again! Thanks very much.”

Darcey stayed for 5 nights and she settled very quickly thanks to Lindsey and her partner who are clearly very experienced dog sitters. They kept us up to date with photos and messages and we were confident that Darcey was being looked after in the very hot weather. Buster is clearly used to having visitors and he and Darcey got along together - looking forward to the debut album!! We would have no problems recommending Lindsey to anyone

Louisa was fantastic with our dog even though he’s not so trusting of new people. She was extremely patient and kind with him even when he was struggling to go out for walks with her. Took a lot of stress off of our shoulders while we were on holiday, highly recommend!

We left our 1 year old Golden, Clover, with Marcello over night recently and couldn't be happier with our experience. He was keen to meet Clover ahead of the stay and understand about her temprament and what would be best for her. He followed all of our guidance and kept us updated with how she was getting on regularly. And was very quick to communicate with us. We'll absolutely book with him again.

Thankyou so much Erin and Ben for taking Eric last minute. Being nervous cat parents we felt immediately comfortable leaving him with you knowing he'd be in good hands. Communication was great with regular updates and photos. Eric seemed to settle in fast and was quickly up to his usual antics. We 100% recommend and would happily book with Erin and Ben again ☺️

Beata looked after our lively spaniel recently & did a great job - she took her out for her regular walks & sent me daily updates / photos 😊 Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for dog boarding in the local area. Thanks Beata for doing such a lovely job with Ally x
Andi was amazing at looking after our dog, Ralph, while we were away on holiday. During the heatwave, she took great care to keep him comfortable, making sure he had early morning walks and plenty of lovely cold treats to help him stay cool. She kept us updated throughout with photos and messages about all his activities, which gave us real peace of mind. I would highly recommend Andi to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter, and we’ll definitely be booking her to look after Ralph again whenever we travel.

We couldn’t have asked for a better person to look after our dog while we were away on holiday for a week. She is incredibly friendly, caring, and clearly loves animals. She kept us updated every single day with photos and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind knowing our dog was happy and well looked after. It was obvious our dog was receiving lots of love and attention throughout the stay. We would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter. Thank you so much!
Thomas and Jess took the time to meet with us and our dogs before their trail overnight stay. Thomas took time to listen and ask questions about both dogs and what their needs were. He messaged us with any concerns and showed genuine care and thoughtfulness. We have already booked longer stay with Thomas and feel really reassured that our dogs will be well cared for.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
