“We cannot thank Jacqui enough for the wonderful care she gave our 4‑month‑old puppy Snuggle while he stayed away from home. From the very start, we felt completely at ease—Jacqui is so warm, trustworthy, and clearly has such a loving way with dogs 💖 What made it extra special was how thoughtfully she kept us involved: she sent regular updates with lovely photos, sweet videos, and detailed notes about how Snuggle was doing, what he’d been up to, and how settled he felt. It meant the world to us to see our little one happy and safe, and we never felt out of the loop at all! Jacqui’s home is such a caring, welcoming place—Snuggle was loved and looked after as if he were her own. We would 100% recommend Jacqui to all our family and friends without any hesitation, and we will definitely be using her services again in the future! Thank you for everything, Jacqui—you’re brilliant! 🐾❤️”

“We recently left our toy poodle, Apple, with Hey Kiu for 21 days while we were away, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. Finding a trustworthy dog sitter can be nerve-wracking, but Hey Kiu put our minds completely at ease from day one. She is exceptionally responsible, attentive, and dependable. Every single day, she kept us updated with detailed notes and wonderful photos of Apple, showing us how well he was settling in and enjoying his time. It was so reassuring to see him so content and properly cared for while we were abroad. Hey Kiu went above and beyond to ensure Apple's daily routine and well-being were maintained. It was abundantly clear that she treats the dogs in her care with genuine love and affection. We are extremely grateful for her fantastic support and would recommend her to any pet owner without hesitation. We will definitely be booking with Hey Kiu again in the future!”

“Amazing Sitters - Bugsy was happy and well looked after with regular updates - he was also on steroid medication for his ear and Lori administered and made him feel comfortable ❤️. Like a home away from home 🏠 . Highly recommend 🙌🏼”

“Ted had a great time and was really well looked after. He came home very happy and relaxed, which is always the best sign! We felt completely comfortable knowing he was in good hands and would happily book again. Highly recommend!”

“Rolo had a Fantastic time with Georgia and family for the week. Georgia kept us up to date with Rolos adventures through messages and pictures. Would certainly be using Georgia again.”

“Deirdre and Liam were absolutely amazing with our Hachi. He immediately felt comfortable and settled with them, and we received lots of lovely photos and updates of Hachi having a wonderful time and receiving lots of care and attention. Hachi actually cried on the way home as he missed them! Thank you both so much! 😊”

“Beata and her daughter welcomed my very attached cockapoo into their home for a few days and did a wonderful job looking after her. My pup was really comfortable and relaxed with them from the moment they were introduced and they take their roles as dog carers seriously and professionally. Such lovely people with a natural affinity for dogs. Beata took my pup for walks in the countryside and they clearly showered her with attention and affection. I highly recommend Beata as a sitter.”

“We left our sight hound with Barry while we went on an extended holiday. Our dog got on really well with his Saluki and it seemed to have as much a holiday as we did. Barry left regular updates and pictures and we could see how much fun they were having. I'd be more than happy to leave our pets with Barry on the future!”

“Amrie was fantastic with Pumpkin. She settled and felt at ease straight away. She stayed for a week, and I got lots of great updates and knew my dog was having the best time. I’m so grateful, I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Pumpkin with Amrie again.”

About: I'm an animal lover that loves to spend time with animals, particularly dogs and I've been dog-walking and looking after cats and the like for a few years now. I've walked dogs of all different sizes, personalities and breeds - my personal favourite has been Fred the Bassett Hound as they're known for their stubborn-ness but when they love you, they love big! One of my favourite things to do is to sing and play to them! (I play guitar) They love it every time - especially puppies :) I also have experience assisting with new pet additions to the family, and have helped a number of pups settle into routines and potty training. And I've helped to improve older dogs in their recall where there was very little before! I love walks myself and and enjoy taking doggies to play at local parks to socialise with other friends. And if they're more introverted, they tend to let the other dogs know! I've been fortunate to dog and cat sit all over the world on my travels, including boarding stays in LA, New York, London and now Leeds :) I work from home (except for some Thursdays) and am currently finishing my research Masters also so am very present for quality time. I am mostly a homebody so am around also most evenings where pets are not left alone for lengthy periods. I live in a spacious flat and can house crates if required, smoke-free, arty, and clean :) I treat animals with the individual attention and care that they need, based on what they themselves let me know upon meeting and getting to know - just like people!

About: I have looked after pets for friends, family, and neighbours ever since I was young and always build a special bond with any pet I am lucky enough to spend time with. Whether it’s walking or sitting, I always take time with owners to understand their pet’s needs and to reassure that their pet will be given the best care and attention. I currently work from home 4 days a week with the occasional week where I need to travel for 1-2 days. I am flexible and can provide week long or weekend stays I have a fenced garden and plenty of great walking routes nearby including a shady wood for those hot days and multiple parks with fields for roaming My house is roomy and perfect for pooches to laze about in
“Thomas looked after our dog, Binky, really well for an overnight stay. He was really welcoming and took care to understand her routines, likes and dislikes. His home and garden are secure for animals. I would definitely recommend Thomas and book with him again too.”

“Bruno was very happy after staying with Lindsay for the weekend. Lindsay clearly loves dogs and looks after them well. She is very responsive to messages and I am so grateful for her looking after Bruno.”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Leeds
Kyle & Rebecca helped me in a bind with a very last minute booking over the weekend and looked after my Red Setter, Chester, at short notice. Very knowledgeable and clearly dog lovers, we had a good chat beforehand as I was a first-time user of Rover and had questions. I received updates and Chester came back knackered, which can only mean he was well looked after and stimulated. Highly recommend.

Elly has been great with Bo. She has been very welcoming and took the initiative to arrange a meet-and-greet with Bo to help familiarise herself with her. She has also been very good at keeping in regular contact and providing photo updates, which has been really reassuring. I would recommend.

From the onset, Armish gave me confidence and following initial introductions, I received videos and photos of a happy Juno my Ragdoll.. when I went to collect him I said hey Juno baby mama here time to go home ,, his reply was Nooo🙈 he loved Armish very much and would have happily stayed. He eventually hugged me and we arrived home happy and content Thankyou Armish for taking care of my baby,🙏🏼

Deirdre was brilliant with our high energy 1 year old dog. She sent regular updates and pictures to put our mind at rest whilst on holiday. Could not recommend Deirdre enough, her dog Frankie is also very good and him and Brandy got on very well! We will definitely be using Deirdre again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
