“This was the first time we used Jessica, and we were not disappointed. From the messages before the visit to the care and photo updates while we were away, everything was excellent. Boris, being a bulldog, has specific food requirements and a set routine, which Jessica and her family adapted to perfectly. We felt completely reassured knowing he was in such good hands. We will definitely be using Jessica again in the future. Boris does not like the car and we always have trouble on collection but Jessica’s husband helped get Boris in the car with care, he is now snuggled up having had his favourite dinner , doing his favourite hobby of snoozing 💤”

“Strawberry was so well taken care of. There were tons of pictures and updates. We really enjoyed having these as it helps to make us feel secure that our dog is in good hands. We will definitely use Amanda again!”

“From the moment i dropped Oscar off he was met with cuddles. It was a home from home and Oscar settled in really quickly. I got lots of pictures/videos and updates on how Oscar was doing. I will definitely be taking him here again when we go away.”

“Our dog Leo absolutely loved staying with Lucia and her family, we loved receiving updates how he is getting on. We definitely will book with her again and we know Leo will be so happy to see Lucia and her lovely family again.”

“Very happy after leaving my dogs with Vivianne! We were sent pictures daily, and even a video of the dogs paying in the garden. The dogs came back home happy and didn’t smell bad (like they do if at a kennels!) Thank you again for looking after our dogs ☺️”

“Hollie is very good take care of my dog Valerie. Val look so happy and lots of cuddles. I would to like hollie look after Val again. Thank you so much for look after Valerie for few nights. Val look so well and happy. Thank you so much”

About: I’ve honestly had dogs around me for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I’ve owned and cared for everything from tiny pups to large mixed breeds, so I’m completely used to all kinds of dog personalities, sizes, and energy levels. Right now, I have my own 9 year old dog, Simba, so I really understand the day-to-day of caring for a pet, from keeping up with their favorite walk routines to just knowing when they need some quiet downtime. I know how important it is to feel like your dog is safe and happy when you're away, and I promise your pup will be treated like absolute family here! I am at home full-time, which means your dog will rarely, if ever, be left alone and will receive constant care and attention throughout the day. My schedule is incredibly flexible, allowing me to easily maintain your pup's exact feeding times, frequent potty breaks, and specific walk routines. Whether they need active daytime companionship or just a quiet presence to keep them company while they snooze, I am here all day to make sure they feel completely secure and looked after. We have a really warm, dog-loving home where your dog will be treated like one of our own. Our house is a lively, happy family space with myself, my husband (working full-time), and our two university aged kids who are currently back home and absolutely adore dogs. We also have a 4-year-old daughter who is wonderful and very gentle around pets (though she'll be at school for most of the summer). Outside, we have a fully fenced garden with a great grass section, so there's plenty of space for safe sniffing and stretching. Between all of us and our friendly dog Simba, your pup will get non-stop affection, company, and a safe family environment to settle right into!
“Absolutely the best. Jessica took such good care of my dog, Buddy, that I believe he wanted to stay. I will always use her whenever she is available and still sitting dogs.. I trust her completely.”

“Gus has had test another fantastic stay at Karina’s. He was welcomed with open arms and became part of the family for the week. He was well and truly looked after and had endless fun with them. Thank you Karina and Diogo, we really appreciate you taking care of Gus so well.”

“Luke was great, he was enthusiastic and friendly and clearly gave them both lots of fuss and attention which they love. He was happy to stick with their usual routines and their little quirks were no problem which was very reassuring as an overprotective dog owner :)”

“Highly highly recommend leaving your pets with Kira! Our 7-month puppy had the best time at hers, was well looked after in a heatwave, was safe uand happy. She has a wonderful dog proof home and a supportive partner - it was a perfect environment and company for our puppy. We received frequent updates and photos. Their communication was great and flexible.”

About: I have always loved dogs and have had dogs all my life, however our beloved Westie recently passed away at the age of 14. I have often looked after neighbours dogs when away for weekends/holidays. I currently work full time with the option to work from home and love walking in the evening after work and weekends. I would love to have a dog to take with me. I have just relocated to the area and live in a house with a large enough garden for dogs to roam and play freely but also stay visible.

About: I’ve always had a deep love for dogs. Back in Portugal, I have two dogs who are part of my family, and unfortunately I wasn’t able to bring them with me to the UK. I truly miss them every day, which is why caring for other dogs means so much to me. I treat every pet as if they were my own — with patience, affection and attention. I have experience with dogs of different sizes and temperaments, and I’m comfortable with feeding routines, walks, playtime and general care. For me, this is not just a job — it’s a way to stay connected to something I genuinely love while giving your pet the care and companionship they deserve. I’m currently at home full-time, which allows me to give your dog constant care, attention and companionship throughout the day. I’m available for boarding during weekdays and weekends, with a flexible schedule to adapt to your pet’s routine. Your dog will never be left alone for long periods and will always have someone around to care for them. I provide a safe, calm and loving environment for every dog in my care. I have a secure fenced garden where they can play freely, and I treat every pet as if they were part of my own family. Back home, I have two dogs who I love deeply, and since moving here I truly miss having them around — which is why caring for other dogs means so much to me. Your pet will receive attention, affection and proper care at all times. I can also follow any specific routines, feeding schedules or crate training if needed.
“This was my first experience of Rover, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Finding Faye through the platform has been transformational to how I'll manage dog care for my precious pup, though! Faye is a fantastic, warm and engaging person who dispelled any reservations about leaving my dog with a stranger in an instant! Her love of dogs was palpable from the outset and she made Poppy feel completely at home! I looked forward to the regular updates on the adventures they had been on and the games she'd been entertaining Poppy with, and loved seeing the bond she'd formed with my little dog! I have absolutely no reservations in recommending Faye - she's been an incredible find and she'll definitely be my first choice for dog care in future! 😊”

“Kelly was amazing with Sophie! She made sure Sophie was happy and comfortable the whole time. I could tell Sophie was well-loved and in great hands and really treated Sophie like her own. Highly recommend Kelly — we’ll definitely be booking again!”

Luke was so lovely and it was a genuine pleasure to see him bond with my dog and treat her as if she were his own. My dog Juno was happy and exhausted when we picked her up (a fantastic sign!) and it was genuinely touching to see that Luke seemed sad to say goodbye— will definitely make sure she gets to hang out with him again.

Rob took great care of Binky and she had a really happy stay. She had good exercise (needed for her energy levels!) and he was really attentive with her diet and preferences etc. giving her a real home from home experience. Rob was also really communicative and sent us photos and messages throughout her stay. We would certainly recommend Rob as a sitter and we hope to use him again in future to look after our much loved little girl.

Arthur had the best time staying with Eleanor! He was treated like an absolute prince & I’m pretty sure he would’ve stayed longer if I’d have let him! Both Eleanor and Ed were kind, welcoming and asked genuinely thoughtful questions to ensure Arthur had the best time. I wouldn’t hesitate to rebook with them again! Thank you!

While we were abroad for a family wedding, Stanley spent 8 days with Denas, Jacob & Everett. It was great for us to know he was left in such capable and caring hands. We were updated regularly but not too much; perfect when we were so far away. We’re moving out of the area and one of the real disappointments for us is that we’ll be losing the help of Denas & Jacob; they’ve been invaluable. Stanley is also gutted that he won’t be spending time with his best-mate Everett again! Thank you both for everything!

Giovana looked after our boy Javi for three weeks while we were out of the country. We once previously left him at a kennel and swore we would never do it again after his demeanour on our return. This time he had come home completely happy and normal, well groomed, healthy and completely unstressed. We were very grateful for the daily photos and videos that let us know he was having a good time, getting plenty of exercise and was being treated as a member of the family. We could not be happier with our choice of Giovana and will be definitely using her again for future trips. Thanks Giovana.

Lijana is fabulous very knowledgeable and most importantly my dog loved her….dogs know where they are loved. I was updated each day with some gorgeous photos of his activities out playing in the woods. I had my mind settled straight away that he was calm and having a great time. In fact he looked to be having such a good time I don’t think he wanted to come home. Highly recommended I won’t hesitate to leave my boy with Lijana she’s amazing.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Yorkshire and the Humber may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
