“This was the first time we used Jessica, and we were not disappointed. From the messages before the visit to the care and photo updates while we were away, everything was excellent. Boris, being a bulldog, has specific food requirements and a set routine, which Jessica and her family adapted to perfectly. We felt completely reassured knowing he was in such good hands. We will definitely be using Jessica again in the future. Boris does not like the car and we always have trouble on collection but Jessica’s husband helped get Boris in the car with care, he is now snuggled up having had his favourite dinner , doing his favourite hobby of snoozing 💤”

“Strawberry was so well taken care of. There were tons of pictures and updates. We really enjoyed having these as it helps to make us feel secure that our dog is in good hands. We will definitely use Amanda again!”

“Frankie absolutely loves her stays with Hollie, Ed & Oscar. They look after her like their own and always keep us in the loop. I always know Frankie is in good hands and can enjoy my holidays without any worries. Thank you as always and I know Frankie is already looking forward to her next stay! X”

“We were really struggling to find a sitter for our dog Mochi as she loves humans but is very dog-reactive. Great dog otherwise, easy to look after if you're familiar with dogs but can be tricky at times. About a week before we were due to go on our holiday, we found Constancia. She had plenty of good reviews, the Star Sitter status and we would've been okay to leave our girl with her for two weeks based on that. Constancia responded really quickly to the query, asked to meet up to ensure it was a good fit for everyone and got to see where Mochi would be staying while we were away. Constancia explained what Mochi's day-to-day would be like in her home, where she'd sleep, showed the little garden etc., to ensure it was okay and was very receptive to what Mochi's routines are. During the holiday, I got messages, pictures and videos on Rover pretty much daily, giving updates regarding how it's going and how our girl's doing. At the end of the holiday, we picked our dog up with everything we dropped her off with and it was obvious Mochi had been very well looked after, cared for and loved in our absence. Mochi got particularly attached to Constancia's daughter during the stay and it was obvious it was mutual - she was so-so sweet with Mochi when we left. ❤️ Yes, quite possibly a slightly more expensive rate compared to other sitters on Rover, but got no regrets. Our dog was looked after as if she was their beloved pet and was in a home away from home. Will absolutely use Constancia's services in the future again, very trustworthy lady, family and home. A sincere thank you for taking such good care of Mochi in our absence, couldn't be more grateful. ❤️”

“Just amazing to have my best bud in such a great and friendly home while I’m gone. So happy to have found Vivianne and hope she can watch my pup every time I have to travel!”

About: I’ve had dogs around me for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I’ve owned and cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds and personalities, giving me plenty of experience in understanding their individual needs and routines. I know how important it is for owners to feel confident that their dog is safe, happy and well cared for while they’re away. Every dog staying with me will be treated with kindness, patience and plenty of affection, just like a member of the family. My goal is to provide a loving, calm and secure environment where your dog can feel relaxed, comfortable and at home. I am at home full-time, which means your dog will rarely, if ever, be left alone and will receive constant care and attention throughout the day. My flexible schedule allows me to keep to your dog’s usual feeding times, toilet breaks and walking routine. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playtime or simply relaxing in a calm environment, I will make sure they feel safe, comfortable and loved throughout their stay. We have a warm, dog-loving family home where every dog is treated like part of the family. I live with my husband, our two university-aged children and our 4-year-old daughter, who is gentle and respectful around animals. We have a fully fenced, secure garden with plenty of space to explore, play and relax safely. I only accept a limited number of dogs at a time so that every pet receives plenty of individual attention, care and affection.

She has a wonderful dog proof home and a supportive partner - it was a perfect environment and company for our puppy. We received frequent updates and photos. Their communication was great and flexible.”

“We couldn’t recommend Arabelle and Chantelle enough! From the very first time we met them, it was so clear how much they genuinely care about dogs, and we immediately felt completely comfortable and happy leaving Bernie with them. They were so lovely and understanding of all of Bernie’s little needs and routines, and kept us updated with lots of photos and messages while we were away. It was honestly so lovely seeing how settled and happy he was, especially all the photos of him playing and clearly having such a wonderful time! Knowing Bernie was being so well cared for meant we could relax and enjoy our time away without worrying about him at all. We’ll absolutely be asking Arabelle and Chantelle to look after him again in the future and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for kind, caring and trustworthy sitters. Thank you both so much for taking such lovely care of our little Bernie! 🥰🐾”

From our first meeting with Hollie and Ed and Oscar we had great confidence that Reggie would be well looked after. Regular updates during his stay showed him very relaxed and enjoying himself. Already booked for a longer stay in a couple of months. Thanks Hollie, Ed and Oscar.

Seimpe and her family were absolutely lovely with Milo while we were away. From the start, communication was great, and we really appreciated the photos and little updates during his stay. It was so nice to see him looking happy and settled. What stood out most was how much they genuinely cared for him. Milo was clearly treated like part of the family rather than simply being looked after, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. We wouldn’t hesitate to leave Milo with Seimpe and her family again. He was in wonderful hands, and we’d happily recommend them to anyone looking for someone kind, trustworthy and genuinely caring to look after their dog.

We were so happy with the care and attention Constancia showed out staffy Jerry. She was very responsive and very sweet with Jerry. He has a lot of medical needs which Constancia took in her stride, and he was in a great mood when we came to pick him up. Would definitely recommend and will be using her services again!

Deano stayed with Luke for 3 weeks and had the absolute best time. We loved getting loads of video updates and seeing all the attention and great walks he was getting. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Luke again!

Joanne was fantastic with our 2 dogs and cat. I was worrying as hadn't left them for a few years, she made me feel relaxed and I knew everything was going to be ok. Ruby, Bear and Peanut came back, happy, relaxed and as if they hadn't been away. I had no anxiety, they were all looked after and all our pets were happy. A big thank you!

Eleanor and Edward are a very caring couple who did an excellent job of looking after Monty for a few days. Communication was clear and prompt, keeping us up to date with how the stay was going and making the whole experience feel very reassuring. Monty came home a happy and healthy dog. We wouldn’t hesitate to rebook.

Rob took great care of Binky and she had a really happy stay. She had good exercise (needed for her energy levels!) and he was really attentive with her diet and preferences etc. giving her a real home from home experience. Rob was also really communicative and sent us photos and messages throughout her stay. We would certainly recommend Rob as a sitter and we hope to use him again in future to look after our much loved little girl.

Gus has had test another fantastic stay at Karina’s. He was welcomed with open arms and became part of the family for the week. He was well and truly looked after and had endless fun with them. Thank you Karina and Diogo, we really appreciate you taking care of Gus so well.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Yorkshire and the Humber may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
