“Booked with hayley last minute and she did everything she can to make Bruce feel welcome including a meet and greet. Bruce loves his stay, expressed how it was his first time being away from home and how he can be nervous. Bruce settled with hayley well and quickly and looked very happy in all photos. Hayley sent messages and photos of Bruce enjoying his stay throughout the period. Definitely recommend and will book with you again. Thank you for watching Bruce and making him feel safe and settled.”

“As always basil had a wonderful stay with Sara and he always comes back relaxed and happy. Sara keeps us up to date with photos of how he is doing and we will continue to send our dog for little holidays with Sara.”

“I needed to find a new sitter for my little dog as my usual lady is retiring this year. He stayed with Daria yesterday and overnight as a trial and he settled in lovely. I had no worries that he was being well cared for during his stay and got regular updates and videos which was very comforting. I am about to re book for some later dates. 🙂”

“Millicent was fantastic from the first message! She replied to my booking request in a timely manner, which was extra appreciated considering the short notice. Due to this being Freddie’s first night away from home I was quite nervous and Millicent was so kind throughout the whole process, even offering for us to come the day prior for Fred (and myself) to meet her so we both would have a sense of where he would be staying. Throughout his stay I was provided multiple updates with pictures and I can safely say Freddie looked to have an amazing time, receiving plenty of cuddles! I was very nervous as Freddie is a big dog who doesn’t know his own size and strength, but Millicent was absolutely fantastic with him and I trust her completely. Will be my go to petter sitter moving on 💕🐾”

“Our 6 month puppy had a great stay with Anitha. Anitha made every effort to ensure our puppy had a great first experience staying out. We really appreciated being able to pop for a quick visit prior to his stay. Stanley has a great visit and we were grateful for photos and updates. Highly recommend.”

“Luke and Michaela were amazing with our dog Charlie. They were lovely and caring and made him feel at home. When we picked Charlie up he had such a great time he didn’t want to leave! We will definitely be booking again, thanks for looking after Charlie.”

About: I own one cat and I love cats. I cat sit for friends and relatives when needed. I am very reliable. I have been cat sitting for others for over 5 years via this site. Happy to offer whatever service you'd like, cuddles, just a check in, changing litter trays, feeding. I have a DBS check on the update service
About: I have taken care of dogs all my life I have cared for many different breeds and have worked with military dogs and prison service dogs I work shifts so I have multiple days and nights off during the week and on weekends, I can usually fit your per care needs around my work life balance I have a high fenced garden with plenty of room and grass to run around in I also have my own ex working dog in the home to keep any of your dogs company however if your pet does not see eye to eye without other dogs we have the facilities to keep them separated.
About: I have always had dogs at my family home, starting with a jack russel and whippet from when i was a small child. By the time I had left the family home at 18 we had 2 labradors and a french bulldog. I now own a dachshund, her name is Molly and she is 4 years old! I love to teach my dog lots of tricks and of course spoilt her with treats and cuddles. We have been through all the good and bad stages of walking training so happy to walk any age dog! Some more info on my services/location/times below: Dog Walking: I am able to walk your dog if you live in the hu8/hu9 area of garden village and holderness road, or the HU5/HU6 area of the avenues. This is due to me walking to your location. I currently work at the university and live near holderness road. I am able to walk your dog for 30 minutes or one hour, whichever you prefer. I love walks whatever the weather and find myself to be comfortable with dogs who are well behaved, and ones who are not so (my dachshund barks at every opportunity so I am used to this). I would be most comfortable with walking dogs who stay on the lead at all times. I am fully insured. House drop-in: I would love to help with any home drop ins to provide pets, cuddles, food and toilet breaks for your pet! My hours are very flexible at the moment so please do send a message with your preferred times of walking or house dropping and I would be happy to help if possible! Dog boarding: I have a lovely 4 year old dachshund who I share my home with. Your dog would be most welcome to sleep in their crate, bed or my bed! I usually go to work each day for around 4 hours, but my husband is usually home to offer more frequent toilet breaks if needed! I am currently working hybrid, some days from home and some days from the office. I usually only leave for a few hours at a time thought as my jobs very flexible. I have a fenced back garden which my dog loves to play around in. I have a babygate to stop dogs from running up and down the stairs as my stairs are narrow. I am happy to carry dogs up and down if they want to stay in the bed. As mentioned in my bio - I do have a friendly little dachshund who is able to stay with me during your dogs stay if they are good with other dogs, or I can offer your dog their own space if needed and my dog can stay with family and friends.
“Maisie did an amazing job with boarding little Crumpet. This was our first time boarding and Maisie kept us fully updated about Crumpet's progress and also ensured she kept to her routine. It looks like Crumpet had a good time and settled in quickly. We will defo be utilising Maisie again.”

“Helena was absolutely amazing with our very nervous dog, so kind and patient with him. Helena listened carefully to what he likes and needs and made his stay very stress free Great communication with lots of pictures sent too which really helped me with the first time leaving him. Thanks again Helena”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Kingston upon Hull
Matthew was caring and conscientious whilst looking after our little dog. The circumstances were less than ideal, the weather was 30 degrees and she unfortunately had an illness which required antibiotics, although she was well in herself by the time we left her, she still needed to finish her course of medication whilst staying with Matthew. Matthew kept me updated and in touch the whole time, and immediately shared any concerns, and acted as necessary. Thank you Matthew

We couldn’t recommend Hayley and family enough for looking after our pug Airlie. From the moment we left him, we knew he was in the best hands. Hayley kept us updated the whole time with regular photos and messages which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Airlie was treated like part of the family and it truly felt like a home from home for him. Thank you again for taking such amazing care of our boy.

First time leaving Finn with a stranger, but will definately use Jack again if i need a sitter, Finn was at ease the minute we went in, we had a meet and greet a couple of days before which put our minds at ease. Jack is reassuring and obviously an animal lover. Finn got lots of love and attention and i dont think he missed us as much as we did him. When we picked him up he came and had a cuddle then went straight back to Jack for more.Definately recommend and happy to use again.

Sara looked after Brodie overnight and we were really impressed with the care she gave him. Communication was excellent throughout, with updates and photos which made us feel completely at ease while he was away from home. It was obvious Brodie was very well looked after and settled with her. He came back happy and relaxed, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with Sara again. Thank you for taking such great care of him.

Agnese and Tom were absolutely amazing - I couldn’t have asked for better sitters! They were so kind and reassuring from the start, and meeting beforehand put any worries at ease immediately. My Coco took to them straight away and it was clear how much they love dogs! They kept me updated while I was away and looked after him so well – he came back happy and relaxed. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and would love to book with them again. Thanks so much for all the love and kindness you provided to Coco 💗

Faith looked after our energetic, 1 year old dog, Buddy. Faith was very professional, meeting us before hand to ask questions, and to check if her and Buddy were a good match. Faith sent photos and provided updates throughout the day, which put us at ease. We have booked him in again for a 5 night stay next year.

Alysha was very attentive and looked after our dog in a very caring and understanding way. She went above and beyond updating us and we felt reassured that our dog was in great hands. Her own dog is a sweetheart and the two got along famously. I would not hesitate to book her services again. We are very pleased and our dog is too 😊!

This was our first time leaving Milo with someone who wasn’t family and we were genuinely so at ease with Anna! She was incredible with our boy, sent lots of photos, videos and updates. Kept us informed of when he went on walks and when he had eaten his food. Highly recommended! Thank you, Anna!!

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Yorkshire and the Humber may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
