About: I've been caring for dogs and cats for as long as I can remember. Growing up with pets has given me a genuine understanding of their different personalities, routines, and individual needs. I've owned a Labrador Retriever and currently have a Working Cocker Spaniel, so I have hands-on experience with both relaxed family dogs and more energetic breeds that require plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. I've also had cats throughout my life, giving me a good understanding of feline behaviour and the importance of providing a calm, safe, and stress-free environment. In addition to caring for my own pets, I've looked after dogs and cats for neighbours, friends, and family, including home visits, feeding, walks, playtime, companionship, and check-ins while owners have been away. I understand that every pet is unique, which is why I take the time to follow each owner's instructions carefully. Whether it's sticking to a specific feeding schedule, administering medication orally(if required), maintaining exercise routines, or simply providing plenty of love, attention and reassurance; I tailor my care to ensure your pet feels comfortable, happy, and well looked after. My goal is to give you complete peace of mind, knowing your pet is being cared for as if they were my own. I am also fully insured for your peace of mind and carry first aid kit either on me or in the car. I have a flexible schedule, which means I'm available for boarding, drop-in visits, and walks throughout the week, including weekends. This allows me to provide plenty of time, attention, and companionship to the pets in my care, while working around their usual routines. Your pet's wellbeing is always my top priority. This includes feeding schedules, exercise, playtime, medication (where needed), and any special requirements to help them feel comfortable and settled. During warmer weather, I also take extra precautions to keep dogs safe. If temperatures exceed 22°C, I won't take dogs out for walks, as heat can be dangerous. Instead, I'll provide indoor enrichment, play, and plenty of attention, along with access to fresh water and regular comfort breaks in a safe, shaded area where appropriate. Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are my highest priorities. I provide a calm, loving, and secure home where pets can relax and feel part of the family while you're away. I live in a house with a large, fully fenced garden, giving dogs a safe outdoor space to play, explore, and enjoy regular toilet breaks. Inside, they'll have plenty of companionship, attention, and a comfortable environment to settle into. I also have a 5-month-old female Working Cocker Spaniel who is friendly, playful, and enjoys the company of other dogs. She has a gentle nature and is also comfortable around cats. I always introduce pets carefully and supervise interactions to ensure everyone feels safe and at ease. I understand that every pet is different, so I'll always follow your instructions regarding routines, boundaries, feeding, exercise, and any special requirements. My aim is to provide the same level of care, patience, and affection that I'd want for my own pet, so you can enjoy complete peace of mind while you're away.

About: I've loved animals for as long as I can remember, especially dogs and cats. I grew up with an Alsatian and, as soon as I moved into my own home at 18, I adopted my first cat. My husband shares my love of animals, and together we have a home full of furry family members! We have two beautiful cats (both aged 5), our wonderful 14-year-old Jack Russell cross, Rocky, who still thinks he's a puppy, and our affectionate 11-month-old Labrador, Sonny. Despite his size, Sonny is incredibly gentle, friendly and loves both people and other animals. I work part-time for the NHS, which has helped me develop responsibility, reliability and a caring nature. When your pet is with us, they'll be treated as part of the family, with plenty of love, attention and care. My husband is home every other week, so there's often someone around to keep your pet company. We also have two children, aged 13 and 10, who have grown up surrounded by animals. They are kind, gentle and respectful around pets and absolutely love helping to care for them. Over the years I've looked after pets for friends and family, and they've often encouraged me to join Rover because they know how much I enjoy caring for animals. Having trained Sonny from a puppy, I'm also happy to reinforce basic training and routines if you'd like me to. I'm also happy to administer medication (oral or topical) if your pet requires it, as long as I'm given clear instructions. I understand that every pet has their own routine, and I'll do everything I can to ensure they feel safe, comfortable and settled while in my care. I know that leaving your pet with someone else can feel daunting, so I'll keep you updated with regular messages, photos and videos, giving you complete peace of mind while you're away. I'd love the opportunity to meet you and your pet. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to get in touch! Im currently working part time, usually a Tuesday and a Thursday, however my husband is home alot. I often home work also. I can help most days/weekends. Just message me ☺️ I have a very large garden with lots of doggy toys etc! A large fence and wall. My labrador is very safe in my garden. I also have CCTV outside both front and back. If you need me to visit your home I am extremely tidy, clean and responsible. Safety is my main priority for your furry friend.

“Millicent was fantastic from the first message! She replied to my booking request in a timely manner, which was extra appreciated considering the short notice. Due to this being Freddie’s first night away from home I was quite nervous and Millicent was so kind throughout the whole process, even offering for us to come the day prior for Fred (and myself) to meet her so we both would have a sense of where he would be staying. Throughout his stay I was provided multiple updates with pictures and I can safely say Freddie looked to have an amazing time, receiving plenty of cuddles! I was very nervous as Freddie is a big dog who doesn’t know his own size and strength, but Millicent was absolutely fantastic with him and I trust her completely. Will be my go to petter sitter moving on 💕🐾”

“Would highly recommend Dan as a sitter. He’s very easy going and was attentive to my dog’s needs, allowing him on the sofa and bed, just like a home from home. He had plenty of walks and Dan updated me regularly with pictures and messages. Thank you Dan, couldn’t ask for more”

About: I have always had a great fondness for dogs, owning as both a child and an adult myself. Up until August 2026 we owned two gentle dogs, who are treated equally as family members. No one loves unconditionally like a dog and could never imagine myself with out a dog. I understand a dogs needs well and both my dogs have had vigorous training from an early age. Your dog would be cared for well and any special requests would be met. Your dog would receive lots of attention and cuddles while in my care. Both my dogs enjoy river, woodland and beach rambles. Puppies wouldn’t be over exercised and any home training could be continued here in our home, or on walks or visits if required. Thank you We are around most weekends, and walk morning and evening with current dogs (sometimes lunchtime depending on the temperature) and a very large fenced garden. We are close to a couple grassed areas for longer walks, woodland, river walks. Occasionally we get to the beach for a good run around. I have 2 female dogs and dog friendly property. Our eldest dog is 14 and we have adapted certain things for her to help with her aging.
“Amazing! Jaxx was looked after like one of Anitha’s own. Kept us well updated with messages and pics, 10/10. All the nervousness of leaving him, especially soon after young, she took away. Thank you again.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter! From the moment we left, we felt completely at ease knowing our boys were being cared for as part of the family, not just looked after. We received regular updates with lots of photos and videos, which really meant the world to us while we were away—it was clear they were happy, relaxed, and enjoying themselves. It’s so reassuring to see your pets thriving in someone else’s care. When we came home, the boys were content, well cared for, and their usual happy selves, which says everything. It’s such a relief to have someone we trust so completely. We would absolutely recommend Julie to anyone looking for loving, reliable care for their pets. Thank you again for taking such wonderful care of our boys!”

“Ru has been so well looked after. He came home happy and tired. I received loads of photos of his walks and plays. He doesn't normally settle well woth other dogs but it wasn't an issue. Thank you for caring for him”

“Bea had a great experience with Luke, she was well provided for with plenty of space. Dog bed in each room, garden to play in etc. very loving and considerate for the dogs needs. Highly recommended!”

“Janet's a great sitter. Really good with Ruby who is a typical boisterous sprocker. We received regular updates and where able to enjoy our night out without worrying about her Ruby is looking forward to her next visit.”

“Amazing stay for our little man. Justine and Matthew clearly love doggies, and they certainly love our beautiful old man. They take such good care and treat him like he is their own. Chaos cannot wait to return. He loved his stay.”

“Thanks for looking after Jessie 🥰 I’ve got a tired beagle which is very impressive!!!! Communication was great and I knew she was in good hands, bonus points for the big garden for Jessie to run around in!”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Incredible – 110% Recommend! I needed last-minute care for Ruby and truly managed to find a golden nugget with Luke and his family. Luke put in so much effort to meet me beforehand, letting me see his lovely home and introducing Ruby to Marv before her stay. It really did make such a massive difference and gave me total peace of mind. From the moment she arrived for her stay, Ruby was welcomed with open arms. What a wonderful, wonderful family they are! I have never seen her look so content while I was away. She wasn't just looked after; she was walked, fed, cuddled, loved, and played with constantly. Their dog, Marv, is the most beautiful boy, and their children are even more so. They are true dog people, and that is exactly what any owner hopes for. Luke and Carly, I cannot thank you enough. I can't recommend you highly enough, and I already can't wait to see you all for a dog walk very soon. Of course, Ruby is already looking forward to her next stay! Thank you so much. I don't just recommend your services—I recommend you, because you are all simply amazing.

Matthew was caring and conscientious whilst looking after our little dog. The circumstances were less than ideal, the weather was 30 degrees and she unfortunately had an illness which required antibiotics, although she was well in herself by the time we left her, she still needed to finish her course of medication whilst staying with Matthew. Matthew kept me updated and in touch the whole time, and immediately shared any concerns, and acted as necessary. Thank you Matthew

Agnese and Tom were absolutely amazing - I couldn’t have asked for better sitters! They were so kind and reassuring from the start, and meeting beforehand put any worries at ease immediately. My Coco took to them straight away and it was clear how much they love dogs! They kept me updated while I was away and looked after him so well – he came back happy and relaxed. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and would love to book with them again. Thanks so much for all the love and kindness you provided to Coco 💗

Faith looked after our energetic, 1 year old dog, Buddy. Faith was very professional, meeting us before hand to ask questions, and to check if her and Buddy were a good match. Faith sent photos and provided updates throughout the day, which put us at ease. We have booked him in again for a 5 night stay next year.

Alysha was very attentive and looked after our dog in a very caring and understanding way. She went above and beyond updating us and we felt reassured that our dog was in great hands. Her own dog is a sweetheart and the two got along famously. I would not hesitate to book her services again. We are very pleased and our dog is too 😊!

This was our first time leaving Milo with someone who wasn’t family and we were genuinely so at ease with Anna! She was incredible with our boy, sent lots of photos, videos and updates. Kept us informed of when he went on walks and when he had eaten his food. Highly recommended! Thank you, Anna!!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Yorkshire and the Humber may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
