Christine was brilliant! She couldn’t have been more helpful from the start of the whole process in trying to find someone to look after our Yorkshire Terrier. Our dog loved her and from all the fab photos and videos, she looked to have had a great time! A big thank you, would highly recommend!

Sarah was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. She accomodated Kora last minute due to being let down elsewhere. Kora is still very nervous of people after being rescued a few years ago but obviously felt completely at ease with Sarah and appears to have had a great time and made herself at home! Communication excellent, updates through the stay and very accomodating regarding drop off and collection. Cannot fault at all, highly recommend

About: 🐾 Fully Licensed • Fully Insured • DBS Checked • Full-Time Pet Care Professional 🐾 Hi, I’m Ryan, and welcome to Ry’s Pet Care! I’m a fully licensed home boarder, fully insured, and work full-time in pet care, allowing me to dedicate my time and attention to caring for dogs every single day. My goal is simple—to provide a safe, loving, home-from-home environment where your dog will be treated as part of the family. Having grown up with dogs and other pets, caring for animals has always been second nature to me. Nothing makes me happier than building trusting relationships with dogs and giving owners complete peace of mind while they’re away. My beautiful Beagle, Ivy, was my world. Caring for her throughout her life, particularly during her later years when she required regular medication due to seizures and a brain tumour, taught me patience, compassion and the importance of tailoring care to each individual dog. She sadly passed away in October 2024, but caring for other people’s pets has become a wonderful way of honouring her memory. As I don’t currently have any pets of my own, every boarded dog, pet I sit for, or walked dog, receives my full attention without needing to compete for space or affection. Whether your dog loves long walks, exploring new smells, playing in the garden, relaxing on the sofa or simply sticking to their familiar routine, I’ll adapt my care to suit their individual personality and needs. I’m licensed to provide home boarding and have developed comprehensive welfare, safety and infection control procedures to ensure every dog enjoys a safe and comfortable stay. I also hold Pet First Aid certification, maintain detailed care records, and always prioritise each dog’s physical and emotional wellbeing. Communication is incredibly important to me. During your dog’s stay, or my sit, you’ll receive regular updates, together with plenty of photos and videos, so you can see exactly how they’re getting on and enjoy following their little holiday while you’re away. Whether your dog needs medication, has specific routines, dietary requirements or simply enjoys lots of cuddles and company, I’m always happy to accommodate their individual needs wherever possible. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone else, and I never take that responsibility for granted. My aim is for every dog to leave happy, relaxed and excited to return, while every owner feels confident they’ve found someone who genuinely cares. If you’d like to arrange a Meet & Greet or have any questions at all, I’d love to hear from you. I manage my own time and am a full time pet care professional so I have the flexibility to meet your pet's usual walk schedules, feeding time and administering of medication (if needed). When staying in your home, I will bring my own food and toiletries, I can also bring my own bedding if required, and even a single or double blow-up bed. I will only require water and electricity and will return the home to you as you left it for me. When boarding, your pets become part of our family, my aim is to make them feel as comfortable as they would in their own home. Your pet is my top priority, so please make me aware of their routines, preferences and training techniques/keywords and I will ensure these are kept to. I know how it feels to leave your pet(s) when you are away, constantly thinking about how they are and what they are getting up to! So, rest assured, I will take plenty of photos and keep you updated as much as you would like. I understand it is a big decision to leave your pet in a new environment, or to invite someone into your home and look after your pet and belongings! Therefore, I always recommend a meet-and-greet (at no extra charge), and am available to message or call with any questions to help build a rapport.

Brooke did an amazing job of looking after my girl Juno. She was really reassuring before and when dropping Juno off. I got updates multiple times a day including videos and photos. It was lovely to see her so happy and enjoying her time, even went on a mini swim. Juno seemed to have so good of a time she wasn’t even bothered when I went to pick her up! Would 100% recommend to book with Brooke as I certainly would again!

About: I have been caring for dogs for many years, beginning when I lived in Latvia until 2011. During my school holidays, I regularly looked after my grandparents’ dogs — sometimes as many as four — as well as my godmother’s little dachshund, Rikis. I also helped neighbours by walking their dogs and caring for them when needed. Currently, I have a lovely, almost six-year-old Boxer named Chester. He is absolutely adorable, very well-mannered, friendly, playful, and fully trained. Chester loves the company of other dogs and would make a wonderful companion for your furry friend. We are always happy to welcome other dogs to play with him, whether at our home or in their own environment. We have a spacious garden at the back of our house, giving the dogs plenty of space to play and relax. We also enjoy regular walks around the village and through nearby fields. Chester is excellent off the lead, but we are equally happy to care for dogs that need to stay on the lead at all times. Dogs truly bring me happiness, and I love giving them attention, affection, playtime, and loving care. I would be delighted to look after your beloved furry family member and ensure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while in my care. I am always at home because I work remotely. I can play with them whenever they need my attention. I enjoy regular breaks with my boxer, so I will schedule consistent times to spend with your doggo :). I have a fenced garden with plenty of space, and my Chester loves dogs and will keep good company with your dog, I will always be around.

Veronika and her lovely family looked after Che as if she was their own well loved family pet. She had a very nice sleepover with lots of cuddles and walks. Veronika was very kind and sent pictures and updates. I especially liked the picture of Che making friends with a cat.

Emma and her family are the loveliest people who genuinely care about pets. They treated my dog and others like they were their own. Which is so lovely to see in the many updates and pictures sent back to me whilst on her 2 night stay. I felt at ease whilst away knowing my dog was having a lovely time and being treated extremely well. I highly recommend Emma to anyone needing love and care for their pets and wanting guilt free time away. ❤️ thankyou Emma. X

After Sarah agreed to look after Henry. We went to meet her and her husband Bob. Henry took an instant liking to both. We went back for a second meet, Henry ran straight upto them and into the house and made himself at home. I had no doubts what so ever leaving him with Sarah and Bob. Sarah sent photos of Henry, he looked happy and at home. I can't recommend Sarah enough to look after your dog. He will be so well looked after. Will certainly be booking Henry in again. Thank you very much Sarah and Bob for my worry free weekend knowing Henry was with you.

This being my first time leaving my dogs, i can honestly say i've never been more happier. Both dogs were more than happy with Bradley which was great to see from my more nervous people cocker spaniel and my puppy was clearly enjoying herself and having fun playing with Lincoln. Whilst ollie the older cocker spaniel enjoyed quuer cuddles. Bradley sent us plenty of pictures of them which was really reassuring and responded quickly to any questions we had. Will certainly use Bradley again as its always nice when you find a home from home that your dogs are settled and comfortable with. Would also recommend to friends.

About: I am flexible to support your fur child, as long as they’re happy to be with a large golden retriever named Douglas (4 year old). I work from home so can ensure your pooch is a priority, we have a lovely enclosed garden and local walks nearby. I’ve looked after friends and families dogs throughout my life and a huge dog lover. Douglas even has his own TikTok if you wish to view the fun we have: teachm........ I’m used to big dogs growing up with a German Wirehaired Pointer and we also had a Border Terrier. All shapes and sizes are welcome in my home. My schedule usually starts between 6-7am, we are up and out with Douglas. I’m usually logged on my laptop from home at 8:45am finishing at 17:15pm. I manage my own diary and can book meetings around your dogs needs. I live at home with my partner who is on 12 hour shifts, so he is in/out depending on his schedule. After work we have another walk. Bedtime around 9-10! Douglas sleeps downstairs but we don’t mind dogs upstairs too, whatever they are comfortable with. I have a fenced garden, space for them to explore and open house for them to sit on several sofas! I’m happy to cater for their needs, ensuring their usual schedules are followed as much as possible. Douglas is super friendly and happy to welcome visitors.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
