“We’ve already booked Rohit again—he’s been brilliant with Four. His communication is excellent, and he clearly understands dogs and their individual needs. Four warmed to him straight away, and it’s great to feel so confident leaving him in capable hands. Highly recommended!”

“Leah is excellent and proffesional. She met my dog at my home before the date we needed her to drop in. My dog loved her instantly, put me at ease immediately. Very happy with how Leah looked after my fur baby and the time and affection she gave my dog. He had a lovely walk and run about too. Thank you so much, highly recomend you! Also will be asking for your service again in future when I need to be away but can not bring him with me! 5/5 *”

About: I’ve been lucky enough to grow up with dogs as a child (picture of my first dog, Murphy, attached!) and also to have my own dogs for the past 8 years - both big and small in breed. The handsome dachshund in my photos is Buzz, who loved nothing more than to come on adventures and squirrel hunt. A couple of years ago I adopted Olive and Willow from Turkey, the two beautiful girls next to me in my profile photo. They’re the most extravagant souvenirs I think I will ever bring back from a holiday! I found them whilst in Turkey with my family. They’d been abandoned as puppies and Willow in particular was in a terrible state, so weak she couldn’t even stand. Fast forward 4 months of them quarantining with a lovely Turkish family, going through all the required tests and checks, posing for a passport photo and road tripping across Europe - they finally arrived to their forever home with me in Lincoln in December 2023. The change in them has been amazing to watch and they’re now happy, confident, obedient, loving, hilarious - and mischievous! There were some tough moments for us all whilst they settled in and decompressed, but seeing what time, patience and love has done for them has been incredible and I couldn’t imagine my life without them. My mum says I’m obsessed with them, and I am! Olive and Willow are Anatolian Shepherd mix and have therefore given me experience caring for and handling larger breeds. Last year Willow was sadly diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia (as a result of her bad start in life) for which she has had daily medication and recently undergone total hip replacement surgery. I therefore also have experience in catering for medical needs and administering medication. I am also able to cater to any dietary requirements - including giving supplements. My pets are part of my family and I do all I can to give them the best life possible and reciprocate the unconditional love they give to me. I understand that you often need support to look after a pet, particularly around work and other personal commitments, and have used dog walking services for my own pets for many years. I therefore know how daunting it can be to trust someone else with your pets care, safety and happiness, how important it is to find the right person and what qualities are needed - kindness, patience, resilience, honesty, reliability. I promise to treat your pet/s with the same care and love as I do my own. I have also experience caring for cats, tortoises, fish, hamsters, rabbits, and chickens. I am in the process of a career change and therefore fortunate to currently have a very flexible schedule. Your pet will therefore be my sole priority during my visit, walk or stay with them. I will always do my best to accommodate the times and schedules that suit you and your pet/s best and ensure their normal routine and schedule is adhered to as far as possible. I will care for your pet as if they were my own, and always prioritise their safety, happiness and wellbeing. Before caring for your pet under any service, I will arrange a meet and greet to introduce myself and discuss what you would, or wouldn’t like me to do during any booking so there is transparency and to ensure that I’m the right fit for you and your pet/s. I will care for and respect your home during any visit and give you regular updates.

“Great communicator, very caring and just wonderful to contact for sitting my kitten. Best part of that my kitten, who's scared of most strangers had no issues playing with Amy. Will contact Amy first if I need a sitter for my cat again. Recommend to everyone else.”

“Agata was a delight to work with. She provided excellent care of our two cats over a 3 day break. Kept us updated _ sent photos every day. I will certainly book her again now she has got to know them!”

About: Hi, I’m Sophie! Before my loyal Malinois, Four, turned me into a full-on dog person, I was a lifelong cat lover—so I truly understand both feline independence and canine companionship. I offer calm, trustworthy care shaped by years of hands-on experience with a range of pets, from affectionate lap cats to high-energy, working-breed dogs. Thanks to Four, I also have experience supporting dogs with pulling, reactivity, and basic training needs—so I know how to keep walks safe and stress-free. My partner Scott often lends a hand on walks and drop-ins—we’re both passionate about animals and committed to providing gentle, reliable care. Whether your pet needs company, exercise, or just a steady presence while you're away, I tailor my care to suit their personality and routine. Because your pet deserves a Five-Star experience! I work full time during the week, but caring for animals is a core part of my daily life. I walk my own dog, Four, every day—rain or shine—so I’m used to fitting pet care around a busy schedule. I don’t work weekends or during school holidays, which gives me extra flexibility for drop-ins and walks. My partner Scott is also an animal lover and often supports with afternoon visits when needed, but I’m always the main point of contact and responsible for bookings and care. Pet care is second nature in our household! Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets. I hold a current DBS check and treat every animal with the same care and attention I give my own dog, Four. When walking dogs, I ensure they’re secure on a lead—especially those with reactivity or pulling tendencies—and always check the environment for potential hazards. Whether I’m in your home or mine, I create a calm, secure space tailored to your pet’s needs. For drop-ins, I create a calm, familiar environment for your pet by sticking to their usual routine—feeding, providing fresh water, and giving them the attention they’re used to. I take extra care to follow any specific instructions from you, and I’m always happy to send updates to keep you reassured. Whether your pet is a dog or a cat, I treat them with kindness, respect, and care, ensuring they feel comfortable and safe in their environment.
“Renata has once again been reliable and professional :) our dogs mean everything to us and we know we can trust her to make sure they ok while we are away. She is knowledgeable and caring, always making sure they get lots of interaction and affection. Knowing Renata is checking in on them gives us piece of mind (we also get lots of photos) :)”

About: Note: Rates on this platform differ slightly from my direct bookings due to Rover platform requirements. Hi, I’m Ashleigh – a qualified animal enthusiast with over 8 years of experience studying and caring for animals. My passion and empathy for animals have always been a part of who I am, and from a very young age, I knew I wanted to pursue a career working with them. After leaving school, I went to college to study animals, which eventually led me to earn a BSc in Animal Behaviour & Welfare. Along the way, I’ve gained hands-on experience working and volunteering in rescue centres, daycares, zoos, aquariums, and wildlife rehabilitation. This has provided me with the amazing opportunity to work with a wide range of species – from dogs, cats, and rabbits to snakes, penguins, armadillos, octopuses, and rhinos! After a short break from studying, I’ll soon be starting an MRes in Animal Behaviour & Welfare, and my research will be centred around reptile cognition. I am committed to building on my understanding of how and why animals think and behave the way they do. Understanding an animals behaviour isn’t just fascinating – it’s essential to providing the best possible care and building trust-based relationships. Driven by my knowledge and lifelong passion for animals, I began offering my own services some time ago to just a few clients alongside my work and studies. I’ve now decided to take the next step and officially launch Tails & Scales Pet Care – providing trustworthy, personalised care for pets of all shapes and sizes. Services I provide: 🐕🦺 Solo dog walk – dedicated one-on-one time tailored to your dog’s needs 🐇 Pet sitting – in-home care while you’re away, keeping your pets comfortable in their own space 🐈 Drop-in visits – check-ins for feeding, playtime, company, and a toilet break 🐢 Experienced care for scaly, slimy, feathery, and creepy-crawly pets Whether you need regular walks, a one-off pet sit, or the occasional drop-in visit, I’m here to make life easier for you and more comfortable for your animals. Every pet I care for is treated like one of my own – no matter their shape, size, or quirks. I am a full-time pet sitter/dog walker. I will try my best to be available for any requests and to meet your needs - just ask! I only offer 1-2-1 care, or care for pets from the same household for safety reasons, and to ensure every animal in my care is getting the necessary attention and devotion! Happy to follow safe and sensible owner instruction regarding care and routine for your animal/s in your own home.
About: I have loved, adored and cared for various four-legged friends including my very own cocker spaniel Ellie; this has included all breeds small, large and of all ages. Now that I have recently moved and no longer own a canine of my own, I am ready to give all my love and cuddles to your best friend, from drop-in visits, to adventurous walks that are pawfect for your pooch. My promise is to meet all your dogs need while your away, as I understand no dog is the same; this I believe is what makes them the very best companions and truly man's best friend, with all their wonder, and their love for life and those around them ... can it really get any better than seeing that smile on your dog's face. I currently work as a practice nurse on Monday - Fridays. Meaning that my weekends are fully available with no commitments to tend to your four legged friend! I will ensure to follow your rules, and will have a pre visit with every owner to set out the expectations you have. I will send regular pictures and updates when walking or visiting your dog, so that you can be at ease while your away and know that your best friend is safe.
About: I have grown up around dogs and regularly have my mum’s dog to stay for up to 2 weeks at a time. I trained my family dog when she was a puppy and continue to recap her commands with her. I also have looked after my friends cats when she goes away by checking in a few times a day to feed and play with the cats and ensure they get time to go outside. I am a hybrid worker so have the flexibility to wfh. My hours are flexible so I can ensure I take dogs on long walks during my lunch break and that they are fed and played with at periods throughout the day. I have a fenced garden with plenty of grass and space to go to the toilet and run around. I live at the end of a cul-de-sac so very safe area with no cars passing by and a main road is a bit of a walk away. I allow pets on the sofa and have a plenty of blankets to cover furniture with so don’t mind them jumping up.

“Nicola was wonderful with our cat Miyah and you could tell Miyah had a lovely time getting lots of fuss during the drop ins! Nicole sent lots of pictures after each drop in, was great with communication and followed all the instructions we left perfectly. I'd absolutely recommend Nicole to anyone looking for someone to take care of their pet!”

“Fantastic from Jacqueline, our cats were well looked after and cared for, house was tidy when we got home and instructions followed to the letter. The perfect sitter, will certaintly book again, thank you!”

About: I have taken care of pets my whole life - having a cat since I was 4 and dogs since I was 6. About: I have a degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare from Hartpury University. I also have 2 dogs and 3 cats so I have experience dog and cat sitting and dog walking. I work full time but have weekends free and after work so can still be available most days if needed and can request days of work if requested I have a garden at my house and multiple types of toys and food for different animals so I would only require any medication or specialised food that the pet needs

About: my family have had an encyclopaedia of animals since I was a baby, from dogs, cats, hamsters, lizards, cockatiels, love birds, Tropical fish, rabbits and Guinea pigs. I am now currently in my 30s with 2 children and 2 of the most energetic loving border collies. I often take care of all my families pets when they are away on holiday. I have had the rare opportunity of looking after my brothers chicks, from egg to chick to juvenile. I am currently working part time trying to make my way in the animal business, I have 2 children who are currently at school so am available from 9:30 am to 2:45pm Monday, Tuesday and Friday to play and have fun with your pets. Weekends are strictly family time. For walking I ensure I have lots of suitable treats, and an on the go water bottle ready for your pet and those long journeys we will take, along with very sturdy leads! My dogs love to pull because of their breed, so I make sure only to use the best of the best. I have a cushioned base in my car for comfort and suitable safety harnesses for the drive, because a walk around the block is just simply not suitable all the time. Accompanied with a long line lead, to build and develop that trust, so your dog can run but stay safe.

Cat owners share their Rover experiences - Lincoln
Once again Suzanne looked after our cat, Apollo. She could not do enough and as I have previously said wouldn’t want anyone else to look after him. In the recent heatwave Suzanne did everything she could to keep him cool. She really cares about animals and I know she loves Apollo.

Great communicator, very caring and just wonderful to contact for sitting my kitten. Best part of that my kitten, who's scared of most strangers had no issues playing with Amy. Will contact Amy first if I need a sitter for my cat again. Recommend to everyone else.

Thank you to Rohit for looking after our cats while we went on holiday. It was a real peace of mind getting updates, photos and videos while away. Knowing about his work at the uni and his obvious love of pets was a real positive and we will definitely use Rohit again. Thank you.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Cat Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Cat Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
Many sitters respond to requests in under an hour. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
