“Sophie was the perfect dogsitter for a drop in with my crazy cockapoo Maple! She played, cuddled and took her for a walk, and I got a lot of photos too which I loved as I was so nervous to leave her. Will definitely use Sophie again the future! Thank you ⭐️”

About: Hi, I'm Sarah. I'm an experienced and qualified animal carer with more than 40 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs and other animals. I hold a BTEC National qualification in Small Animal Care and have also completed training in veterinary nursing and dog grooming. I've previously worked in, and managed, a busy boarding kennels and cattery, caring for animals with very different personalities, routines and individual needs. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I've owned and cared for breeds ranging from Cocker Spaniels through to large and powerful breeds including Bullmastiffs, Dobermanns and Staffordshire Bull Terriers. I have also trained dogs in obedience and agility and have experience showing dogs. Because of this background, I'm confident handling dogs of different sizes, ages and temperaments. I'm equally happy caring for a lively youngster who needs plenty of interaction as I am an older dog who prefers a quieter pace and familiar routine. I also have more than 30 years' equine experience, caring for everything from ponies and foals to youngsters and large competition horses. This has given me a lifetime of practical experience handling animals safely, calmly and confidently. Care in your pet's own home I particularly enjoy house sitting and home visits because they allow pets to remain where they're happiest – in their own surroundings, following their normal routine. When I'm caring for your pet, I'll follow your instructions carefully, including feeding routines, walks, medication where appropriate, bedtime routines and all those little things that make your pet feel secure. I'm very respectful of people's homes and understand what a big decision it is to trust someone with both your animals and your property. You'll receive regular photographs and updates while you're away, so you can relax knowing how your pets are getting on. Dog walking & drop-in visits I'm also available for dog walking and drop-in visits. Walks are tailored to the individual dog rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I'm comfortable with large and strong dogs and understand that puppies, older dogs and dogs with different energy levels all need something different from their walks. Drop-in visits can include feeding, fresh water, toilet breaks, medication where appropriate, playtime and, most importantly, some proper company and attention. Cats and other small pets are very welcome too. Availability I currently work flexibly on a self-employed basis, which means I can often arrange visits and care around your pet's existing routine. I'm based in Sleaford and am happy to discuss requirements in surrounding villages too. I always like to arrange a meet-and-greet before a first booking where possible. It gives you the opportunity to meet me, allows your pet to get to know me, and means we can go through their routine properly before you leave them in my care. Every animal is an individual. My aim is simple: to provide experienced, reliable care while keeping your pet's routine as familiar and stress-free as possible. Pet care is a central part of my daily life, not something I fit in around other commitments. I structure my days around the animals in my care, just as I do with my own pets at home. This means regular feeding times, consistent exercise, and plenty of companionship throughout the day. I’m used to managing multiple animals with different needs, so following routines and keeping everything running smoothly comes naturally to me. Because of my lifestyle and experience, I’m able to offer a high level of flexibility and attention, whether that’s longer walks, more frequent check-ins, or simply being present to keep pets company and settled. Caring for animals has been part of my everyday routine for over 40 years, so it’s second nature to me to prioritise their wellbeing, comfort, and happiness at all times. A typical day with me is structured around your pet’s normal routine, as I believe consistency is key to keeping animals happy and relaxed while you’re away. Mornings usually start with feeding, fresh water, and a calm walk or turnout depending on your pet’s needs. I’m experienced with both high-energy dogs that need proper exercise and older pets who prefer a slower pace. Throughout the day, I provide companionship, playtime, and mental stimulation, as well as any specific care such as grooming, training reinforcement, or administering medication if required. Having worked with a wide range of animals, I’m confident reading behaviour and adjusting care to suit each individual. If you have multiple pets or more complex setups (including horses), I’m very comfortable managing different routines, feeding schedules, and environments. Evenings are kept calm and settled, with feeding, a final walk or check, and ensuring your pets are comfortable for the night. I will keep your home clean, tidy, and secure at all times, treating it with the same respect as my own. I’m also happy to carry out small household tasks such as watering plants or bringing in post. You’ll receive regular updates and photos so you can feel completely at ease while you’re away, knowing your pets are being cared for with experience, patience, and genuine affection.
About: For the past year and a half I have worked professionally as a driver and daycare assistant in a busy doggy day care, this is where I received my Dog First Aid qualification and most of my professional experience caring for dogs. My responsibilities were extensive including walking and playing with the dogs as well as driving them to and from their homes at the beginning and end of the day. I have grown up in a pet filled household ever since I was born, not only did my own household have dogs and cats but my family and friends did also which I would often care for, walk and feed. As soon as I was stable enough to care for an animal myself I adopted my wonderful dog Popcorn, that was 6 years ago now and I can safely say it was the best decision I ever made, I have since fostered kittens and cats as well as taken care of dogs and cats for friends and family. I have also adopted a beautiful kitten named Pumpkin and she has become an amazing little outdoor cat. I find nothing more fulfilling than making an animals day! I am completely available for any of your pet car needs as this is my full-time occupation. I studied photography so cute pictures of your pet pending! I have lots of experience with different types of dogs with different needs! My home is a very loving one and I have done my best to make it the safest, most comfortable place for any animal to be in, my friendly fur babies will keep your pets company and I have a fenced garden so your pup can go to the toilet whenever they like safely!
About: I grew up with lots of animals like a tiny farm and since going to university, I have missed it :( I always go to my family house where there is 5 cats, 2 goldens and 10 chickens and 1 rabbit. May sound like a lot but there is never a moment of boredom. I work in Boston, 8:30-17:00 Monday to Friday. Please take that into consideration when booking me as it doesn’t not let me edit my work schedule into the app. Anytime after 17:30, if you want your dog walking I would be happy too. I really enjoy going on walks with dogs. I have a fenced garden and love going on walks. Dogs and cats are allowed on furniture so they have many places to venture and relax :)
About: With over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all sizes—from tiny Chihuahuas to lovable Golden Retrievers—I’ve developed a deep understanding of each dog’s unique personality and needs. My journey started when my brother brought home a puppy, and caring for him quickly became second nature. Since then, I’ve become the go-to sitter for friends, family, and local pet owners who value my reliability, frequent updates, and genuine love for dogs. What sets me apart is that I’m home full-time during the week, giving your dog plenty of attention, long walks, and companionship throughout the day. I treat every dog like family and strive to make them feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. Being home all day every day means pet care naturally fits into my routine. I’m able to give dogs plenty of attention, regular walks, and a calm, consistent environment throughout the day. Whether it’s sticking to a specific feeding schedule, providing company and playtime, or just being a reassuring presence, I’m here for it. My flexible schedule also means I can often help out at short notice—perfect for last-minute plans or unexpected changes. Your dog will never feel like they’re waiting for company—I’m here, ready, and happy to welcome them in. Safety and trust are at the heart of how I care for every pet. Whether I’m welcoming your dog into my home or looking after them in yours, I treat them with the same level of attention and care I’d give my own. In my home, I create a calm, dog-friendly space where pets can feel secure and relaxed, with plenty of love, structure, and supervised time outdoors. If I’m in your home, I respect your space and routines, making sure your pet stays comfortable in their familiar environment. I keep things clean, follow instructions carefully, and provide regular updates so you always know how your dog is doing. My goal is to make your time away stress-free—for both you and your pet.

About: We are a family of 3 who love cats! I have always had cats and have even fostered up to 30 kittens at one time, in Alaska! I cat sat in Thailand for 9 gorgeous Siamese kitties, which was so fun! I also cat and dog sat for a family in Evedon when my son was a small baby. We have 1 family cat now who is a chunky all black girl named Koshka although Orion is desperate for a new kitten! I have experience with alot of different breeds and needs.

About: Have had cats growing up and was absolutely obsessed with them. I have looked after a few of my friends dogs and work in a dog friendly pub, seemingly becoming just obsessed with dogs! I always seem to remember the dogs but not the humans, whoops! I’m currently changing my career to have a life I love. Cats and cute dogs have to be involved! I work as a Pilates instructor and seem to be free during the day- a time when doggos or kitty kats need that little bit of attention and love. I live in a terrace house with a garden. The front of my house looks onto a big green, which tends to be the neighbours dog walking spot! I can’t wait to join them!
About: I have looked after dogs from puppy's to 14 years old, from Spaniels to terriers. From house sitting on my own to training. From long walks around the river to short walks. Even though I have a job it's really the animals I want to be around at all times. My job is not full time so therefore I have time to spend with animals of all sizes. I care for animals by providing food and water, enrichment, playtime, toilet time, walks, chill time. To health checking visually from a distant. Animals know who are animal people the moment they see you.
About: hello! i am based near Bourne and have just moved back from Sheffield where I was living after university. During my time at university, i felt lonely and homesick from all my animals back home so i downloaded Rover for some animal company and met the best furry friends ever! I have decided to keep the app whilst having moved from sheffield as I wish to continue my furry friend journey :) i do drive aswell which is a bonus! i work for BMW but have aspirations to become a primary school teacher one day and as much as I adore working with children, I love spending time with animals too! i work from 8:30am to 5:30pm everyday and have the weekends free which could be spent entertaining and looking after your furry child/children instead of scrolling through tiktok hehe i feel as the best person to trust with your pet would be someone who’s grown up on a mini farm around all sorts of animals. At my parent’s home i have 2 dogs, 5 cats and 4 sassy chickens (mine is called dora the eggsplora). I love walking the dogs at home through the countryside and changing the chicken run aswell as making sure all animals have food and water. these responsibilities never feel like chores!

Another amazing experience with Chris! This was the first time I didn’t feel anxiety about leaving my three for a holiday as I know that Chris looks after them like his own. My cats are all completely happy on our return. Everything has been left super tidy and Chris text me every day to let me know how they are - along with an excellent sense of humour! Would absolutely recommend Chris to anyone and he is always my first port of call.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
