“I have booked Kayleigh twice over the past couple of months to feed my cat and the fish for a week each time while we’ve been away. She has been fantastic. She you updated on every visit and has gone above and beyond for us. Very reliable, good communication and great value. Thank you Kayleigh x”

“Cheryl is very professional and caring. I was kept up to date and informed what was happening with my dog and cat everyday I was away. She was very respectful in our home and I felt comfortable and trusted her completely. This was the first time we have left our family pet dog. She turned out to be very distressed at us leaving her and was quite hard to deal with. Cheryl remained calm and asked for anything she could do to try and help her settle. She was very understanding and saw the experience from our dogs point of view. You can tell she really cares about your pets wellbeing. I would definitely recommend her.”
About: I have always had dogs in my life, they are a massive part of my life and I have always been told I am naturally great with them and I am currently at university studying to be a veterinary physiotherapist. I have experience walking, feeding and caring at home as my mum has her own business in the Uk. I also have good knowledge about puppies and care as my mum has bred in the past with my help. On Island I have looked after peoples dogs from my house and their house, I have also done walks and feeding. My family have dogs of our own so I know how important their care is when us owners are away or at work. While I am at home in the summer and holidays I would love to keep doing what I love and caring for these beautiful animals. From October until May I will be studying at Uni so during non study hours I would love to be working with animals. My routine will vary and I will be free on weekends so we can find the best dates and times for you. When looking after a pet in someone else’s home I will ask about where the animal sleeps and eats along with details like how many walks they get, any places they like to go (I have a dog safe car with dog seatbelts) and anything else of importance.

About: I've had my own dogs since I was 14, so caring for them has been a big part of my life. Over the years, I've gained hands on experience with dogs of different ages, including recently born puppies and their mum, so I'm confident caring for very young dogs as well as adult dogs. I'm patient, reliable, and always make sure each dog feels safe, comfortable, and well looked after. I understand that every dog has their own personality and routine, and I'm happy to adapt my care to suit their individual needs. Whether it's keeping an energetic puppy entertained, sticking to feeding schedules, or giving older dogs the extra attention they need, I'll treat every pet as if they were my own. I have finished university so I’m free most of the time , check my calendar to see when I’m available. I keep my calendar up to date I will always communicate with the owner , I will ask if there are any boundaries with their dog/ anything there dog has a negative relationship with. The animals safety is my number one priority
“Chloe was fabulous looking after my cat. She took us on last minute after a sudden change in plan. Chloe replied quickly to messages and even fit in a meet and greet before our holiday. We felt very happy and confident leaving our cat knowing that she was in good care. Thank you Chloe! 💓”

“Charlotte was fantastic with our cat, Maggie - she gave us regular updates & really put our minds at ease, she can be quite a nervous cat but seemed really settled when we arrived home, like we’d never been away! Thank you Charlotte! Xx”

“Gypsy is an absolute sweetheart! I felt so safe knowing she was taking care of my babies for me! Gypsy gave the most incredible and cute updates about my cats while I was away. I’m so thankful to have had such a lovely and caring sitter! Highly recommend their service❤️”

“Sue dropped by to look after our two cats after our original plans fell through and we needed someone urgently. We’re so thankful that Sue was able to work around our times at such late notice. We also got updates from visits and everything was left tidy for when we got back, thank you!”

About: I’ve grown up with animals and currently have one dog and three cats, so caring for pets is just part of my everyday life. I’m used to the little messes, the different personalities, and the routines that come with them, and I genuinely enjoy it. Being around animals feels natural to me, and I’m patient, attentive, and comfortable handling whatever comes up. I’ll treat your pets with the same care and attention I give my own. I’ve recently graduated from university and am currently based at home, which means I have a very flexible schedule. I’m available throughout most of the week and can dedicate plenty of time and attention to caring for pets, whether that’s regular check-ins, longer stays, or last-minute needs. While I’m not able to board pets in my own home, I’m very happy to care for them in the place they feel safest in your home. I understand how important it is for pets to stay in their usual environment and routine, especially when their owners are away. I can stay in your home to provide consistent care and companionship, or carry out regular check-ins to make sure they’re fed, comfortable, and doing well. I’ll always treat your home and your pets with respect, and make sure you feel updated and reassured while you’re away.
About: Ive had animals in my family since i can remember and I'd say I have experience dealing with any size and age in a dog. I have 3 dogs myself and i've had them since they were puppies i also look after Cats and Dogs for family and friends. Animals play a big part in my life and they're my family. I'd be more than happy to take care of your pets and treat them as my own. Exercise, play, food or just company i'll be there for your pets :) Hi!! My name is Zuzanna i currently work part time but that doesn't stop me from making plenty of time for my fur babies. I have 3 dogs and I love them very much, they are a lot of work (especially my Cockapoo) however i make sure they always get the best care possible and no matter what animal you have I will treat like my own. I have three dogs my self which is why i don't offer boarding, however we have a pretty big garden and a high fence. If i was looking after your pets i would let them outside every hour, make sure they always have water and are fed. I'd also keep up with any training requirements for your dog for example crate training. I will always try my best to meet your standards and follow whatever rules you have as it is your home.

“Sarah is super calm and relaxed, our rescue dog Hazel is a bit anxious around new people but Sarah put her at ease and looked after her for us with plenty of updates and photos. Thanks so much Sarah! xx”

About: I’ve cared for family pets for many years and have attended an animal management course for animal welfare and behaviour, which included details of training animals and properly caring for a variety of different animals and pets. I have also volunteered at a dog kennels looking after dogs in kennels whilst their owners were away and I currently work at a dog groomers. I have learned to care for a variety of animals so can provide care for different pets. I am currently at college and have a job so I can fit pet care into anytime on weekends and after 6pm on weekdays. I can also provide pet care during bank holidays and any other time off I have. I can cater to different pets’ needs and follow specific instructions pet owners have for their pets to make sure they have the best care. I will only provide pet care for pets outside of my house as I have a dog and wouldn’t want pets to become stressed by this, also for the sake of my own dog’s wellbeing.
“Cassie is absolutely amazing! She took the best care of my cat Molly while I was away, and I couldn't have asked for more. She was reliable, trustworthy, and communicated with me regularly to keep me updated on my pet's activities and well-being. I was impressed by her attention to detail. She was also very flexible which made the whole experience stress-free for me. I would highly recommend Cassie to anyone in need of a pet sitter. I feel so lucky to have found her and I know I'll be using her services again in the future.”

About: I've been around dogs since I was a young child. I'm particularly comfortable with large and giant breeds. A selection of the breeds we've had are as follows Kangol, German Sheperds, Leonberger, Border Collie, Romanian Sheperds and Golden Retrievers. My daily routine is geared around my pet customers so please ask and I will do whatever it is to fit you in. I deliver a custom service based upon their individual needs. I will ensure your dogs maintain their current routine and base everything I do around my discussions with yourself. I would look to meet your dogs prior to looking after them so they know me and wouldn't be worried that I was there with them.
About: Hi! 👋 A little bit about me…I’ve grown up with animals in my life and have had pets since age of 5. Growing up on a farm, I’ve always naturally had an affinity for animals. I have experience looking after kittens, puppies, cats as well as dogs. I have been trusted to dog sit for friends and family for most of my adult life, but have been doing so professionally for the last few years. If you have any questions at all - feel free to message me. I currently work from home so have now got increased capacity to make weekly trips to look after other peoples pets. Hence I am opening my availability up to provide care for more pets. Caring for each pet is different and I am more than happy to meet requirements of each pet’s specific needs and routine alongside providing a watchful eye and fulfilling their personal interactive needs such as cuddles/petting, treats, and continuing their training as requested.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
