Megan did a wonderful job looking after my cat and fish, and she even watered the flowers because weather was very hot while i was away! She came every day for half an hour to sit with my little cat Beans, who loved having a cuddle and fuss from Megan. I would defo have Megan back again to look after my cat and fish.

Lauren was great with our very scared cat and even managed to stroke him! We had problems with him using the litter tray running up to us going on holiday and Lauren took everything in her stride and offered to clean any mess outside of the tray.

About: Hi! If you’re looking for care for your dog that is like your own, look no further. I run a dog waking business in the Rotherham area (Meg’s mutts- dog walking and pet services on FB) I have had experience with a variety of different animals from dogs and cats to bearded dragons and rats. I have experience with most breeds of dog. I currently own a Labrador, a border collie and a lab x collie so I am experienced in caring for and stimulating high energy dogs. I am completely available for dog care as this is now becoming my full time role. The only limitations I have are around school pick up and drop off times and during school holidays I may need to bring my son on walks with dogs that are child friendly, if anyone would be uncomfortable with this I would be able to make alternate childcare arrangements. I can provide care for your pets in their own home. I am DBS checked as before my current role i was a support worker in the community so i am familair with the use of keysafes etc.

About: I’ve had dogs of one sort or another all my life. They have been my constant source of support, company and joy. Now retired after years working from home I am walking dogs for those that need help and support. I am now retired, after years of working from home and looking after the family’s various dogs, cats and assorted weird and wonderful pets. As a retiree, I really don’t have a schedule. As always my dogs dictate my day and we try to be flexible with each other. I really am free to meet the needs of my customers and will always negotiate a way to help. My dogs and cats share my home. I keep them fed and watered and cared for and loved. I consider them my friends and family. I will treat your animals with the same care and consideration.

About: Both myself and my partner Matt have grown up with dogs all our life. Up until August 2025, we also had a Samoyed who unfortunately passed away. Max is a highly energetic dog who loves to play so we’ve got more than enough experience with him alone. Our garden is fully fenced off and quite large so lots of space for your pets to run around! We also live close to Waverley lakes so have lots of great walks nearby! We already walk Max each day so what’s the harm in one more!? We have an 12 year old son who absolutely adores animals so is very excited to join us on this venture and give your pet all the love! We also have a newborn baby. Currently Matt works Monday to Friday so ideally we keep to boarding on the weekend so that we are both available for your pets. I am currently on maternity so I’m happy and available to do drop in visits and walks during the week. Myself & my partner Matt will be looking after your pets so you’ll have both of us to provide that extra care. Feel free to ask any further questions you need! Matt works Monday to Friday whilst I’m currently on maternity leave. Our preference is to board on a weekend as we are both available to look after your pets. I am available for drop in visits throughout the whole week. We have a secure garden and we have a dog to offer your pet lots of play time if wanted! We are happy to crate your dog if needed but you will need to provide the crate.

Mason was incredibly helpful, stepping in to take care of our cats on short notice while we dealt with a family emergency. He was very capable and gave us regular updates to let us know the cats were fine which was very important to us as we didn’t have the mental space to be worrying about them as well. Our cats are a little skittish, and he managed that just fine, making sure that they were well cared for.

About: I’ve grown up with animals and currently have one dog and three cats, so caring for pets is just part of my everyday life. I’m used to the little messes, the different personalities, and the routines that come with them, and I genuinely enjoy it. Being around animals feels natural to me, and I’m patient, attentive, and comfortable handling whatever comes up. I’ll treat your pets with the same care and attention I give my own. I’ve recently graduated from university and am currently based at home, which means I have a very flexible schedule. I’m available throughout most of the week and can dedicate plenty of time and attention to caring for pets, whether that’s regular check-ins, longer stays, or last-minute needs. While I’m not able to board pets in my own home, I’m very happy to care for them in the place they feel safest in your home. I understand how important it is for pets to stay in their usual environment and routine, especially when their owners are away. I can stay in your home to provide consistent care and companionship, or carry out regular check-ins to make sure they’re fed, comfortable, and doing well. I’ll always treat your home and your pets with respect, and make sure you feel updated and reassured while you’re away.

About: I am a huge dog lover and have been taking care of them professionally for the last few years but have had pups my entire life. I have lots of experience of walking and caring for all different kinds of doggos, big and small, with various needs and personalities. I promise to care for your fur babies as I do my own, with lots of love and play and will give them a home away from home where they can relax and feel comfortable. I’m currently fully available for walks any day of the week. Whether this be for a regular same time walk or a last minute one off. I would treat your pets just like I treat my own, with lots of love and play. I am used to caring for dogs of all ages, I recently lost my Peaches at the age of 12, she had a push chair and needed extra time on her walks. Whilst my Pru at age 3 and Folly at 10 months are both full of energy and zoomies.

About: I’ve had cats and dogs my whole life! Experience from looking after young animals to older! My family has recently got a puppy that requires lots and training and looking after! I work full‑time in the civil service, and I’m new to pet sitting, but I’ve had plenty of real hands‑on experience with animals. I’ve had cats throughout different stages of my life and recently raised a kitten from 8 weeks old who’s now 2. I’ve also spent time around dogs of different sizes and temperaments, helping with walks, playtime, and general care. I’m looking to fill my evenings and weekends by helping local owners and giving their cats and dogs company, routine, and reassurance while they’re away. When I’m looking after a pet, I will focus on keeping their routine as close to normal as possible. I’ll follow the feeding schedule you set, keep fresh water available, and make sure they get the right balance of play, attention, and quiet time. For dogs, that includes regular walks, toilet breaks, and sticking to any training or boundaries you already use. For cats, I’ll handle litter changes, feeding, playtime, and give them space if they’re shy or prefer independence.

About: Ever since I can remember dogs were a big part of the family! And that has never changed! As a pet owner (dog and hamsters) I know how important it is that our pets get the care and attention they need and that we are there when they need us! I would love to give your pet (and mine!) the attention they need when you have important things to do! :-) I work remotely so I have availability to do dog walks and drop in visits throughout the day and evenings. I like a good early start with Willow (my Shiba Inu) before starting my day. I love to spend time and socialising my Shiba with other pets (dogs and cats alike) whenever possible! She gets along with other dogs once comfortable and also happy to do the walks with just your dog if you prefer!

About: I am a lifelong animal lover who has grown up surrounded by both cats and dogs, giving me plenty of experience understanding different personalities, behaviours, and care needs. I have regularly looked after friends’ pets, including feeding, walking, playing, and providing companionship while they are away. Living in an area with lots of parks and green spaces, I enjoy spending time outdoors and have years of experience walking dogs in all types of weather. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, energetic playtime, or simply relaxing with company, I am committed to providing reliable and attentive care tailored to their individual needs. About: Hi, I’m Millie - I grew up in a dog filled house where we often had three dogs at a time, ranging from puppies to senior animals, to small dogs to larger breeds. I’ve always been involved in their care and have experience of feeding, walking, training, and giving them lots of love and attention. I now live with my partner in our own home, and we don’t have any pets of our own (yet!). We both really miss having a furry friend and dog sitting is the perfect way to share our love for dogs whilst helping pet parents feel at ease when they’re away. I work as a Radiology Assistant and do 3 long days a week, with 4 days off. My partner works at home full time so there will always be someone at home. My partner, Olly, supports me with dog sitting and is more than happy to care for your pets whilst I am working long days. Both myself and my partner are very active, enjoy long walks and have a lot of time to give your pets plenty of attention and play time. I will always be transparent, ask permission, and communicate well. I will always treat your pet like my own and ensure they are well cared for and loved. We have an enclosed back garden so your pet will be safe having toilet breaks and play time outside. We do not live far from local parks and fields.

Marie and her partner did an amazing job coming round our house and looking after our 3 cats whilst we were away on holiday. One of our cats is very skittish around new people and even she was comfortable around Marie which means a lot! Marie played with our cats every visit, emptied litter trays, made sure they were fed, and gave them lots of dreamies too! I could not recommend Marie enough!

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life, and over the years, I’ve developed a deep bond and understanding of their needs. From a young age, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed caring for and training dogs, attending dog training and agility classes twice a week since I was 11. Today, I’m the proud owner of two wonderful Newfoundlands, Bunny and Bear, who keep me busy with their exciting water rescue training. These experiences have given me invaluable, hands-on knowledge and a true passion for working with dogs of all kinds. But my love for animals doesn’t stop there! Over the years, I’ve also had the privilege of caring for a variety of other pets, including two cats—Indie and my gorgeous ragdoll, Beau—two Guinea pigs (Honey and Bee), two lionhead rabbits (Pumpkin and Jess), and even a Crested gecko named Manny. Each of these amazing animals has taught me so much about their unique care and needs, allowing me to develop a well-rounded understanding of animal care across different species. I currently have a part time job on Monday evenings, Tuesday day and Sunday evenings. However this is flexible and can be subject to change if required! Just let me know your needs and I will accommodate accordingly! When caring for pets in a pet owner’s home, my priority is to ensure your furry (or scaly!) friends feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I treat every pet and home with the utmost respect, following your instructions closely to maintain their routine and provide a stress-free environment. I prioritise safety by keeping a watchful eye on your pets, ensuring they are secure indoors or outdoors, and keeping hazardous items out of reach. Building trust is essential, and I take time to bond with your pets so they feel happy and at ease in my care. Whether it’s feeding, walking, cuddling, or playtime, I strive to keep your pets content and your home just as you left it. My goal is to provide a seamless experience so you can relax, knowing your pets and home are in safe hands.

Megan looked after my cat while I was away for a week. Absolutely cannot fault the service at all. I knew my girl was in good hands from the initial meet and greet. I was kept informed daily and sent photos and updates. Megan even went above and beyond when my girl had an upset tummy. Plenty of fusses and all her needs taken care of. Nothing was too much trouble. I'd 100% use Megan again in the future.

There are 56 sitters on Rover for Cat Sitting in Rotherham. About 89% of Rotherham sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
