Megan has been absolutely fantastic, from initial communication, meet and great and throughout the time she took care of our cat. We have not felt anxious at all whilst away, because Megan had been reassuring us, sending pictures and a very detailed card with the cat’s day. Came back to a very relaxed and looked after cat ! Highly recommend and will book again

About: I have 3 cats of my own currently and grew up around dogs! My childhood was spent in pet shops as my parents worked in one, so I love all animals- even spiders haha. I work in admin every weekday but have excellent holidays and finish early Thursdays and Fridays. It’s easy for me to pop in and spend some time with your pets ❤️ I just always want to do what’s best for my cats and that’s why they own the house 🤣 I can install cat walls!

Lauren was absolutely lovely with my Naala, she came to meet her beforehand and jot down any special instructions. She sent lots of pictures and videos during the visits and spent time fussing over Naala, who was happy and relaxed when I got home. Can't recommend Lauren enough!

About: I've been around and caring for pets since I was a child, so looking after animals has always been a natural part of my life. I absolutely love dogs and cats and understand that every pet has their own personality, routine and needs. I'm caring, patient and responsible, and I'll make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, affection, playtime and care while you're away. I’m happy to follow your usual feeding and walking routines and give your pet the comfort and reassurance they need in your absence. Your pet will be treated as part of the family and cared for with the same love and attention I'd want for my own. 🐾❤️ I am working from home and this is a huge advantage as I can visit anytime during the day and keep your pet's routine as usual. I have created a safe and engaging environment for my little baby boys and they will be a great company to any cat, they is friendly and playful.

About: Hi! If you’re looking for care for your dog that is like your own, look no further. I run a dog waking business in the Rotherham area (Meg’s mutts- dog walking and pet services on FB) I have had experience with a variety of different animals from dogs and cats to bearded dragons and rats. I have experience with most breeds of dog. I currently own a Labrador, a border collie and a lab x collie so I am experienced in caring for and stimulating high energy dogs. I am completely available for dog care as this is now becoming my full time role. The only limitations I have are around school pick up and drop off times and during school holidays I may need to bring my son on walks with dogs that are child friendly, if anyone would be uncomfortable with this I would be able to make alternate childcare arrangements. I can provide care for your pets in their own home. I am DBS checked as before my current role i was a support worker in the community so i am familair with the use of keysafes etc.

Georgia was absolutely brilliant and we would highly recommend her. She checked on the pussks for each visit and let us know where they were in the house when she visited, washed up their food bowls (even though we said to just stick them in the dishwasher) and even removed the poo bags (even though we said to stick them in the kitchen bin). All in all, it was wonderful to come home to a clean, fragrant house and two very happy, well looked-after pussks.

Mason was incredibly helpful, stepping in to take care of our cats on short notice while we dealt with a family emergency. He was very capable and gave us regular updates to let us know the cats were fine which was very important to us as we didn’t have the mental space to be worrying about them as well. Our cats are a little skittish, and he managed that just fine, making sure that they were well cared for.

Michelle was amazing and very flexible when our sitting needs changed slightly during her time with us. The fur idiots were amazingly well looked after and we came home to one who wouldn't shut up telling us how great Michelle was and 2 others who actually didn't sulk with us for leaving them in the first place. Thank you so much.

Full Time Pet Professional.
I have got the patience and the expertise. I'm a Sheffield local of 12 years with a lifelong passion for animal care and a big heart currently missing a canine companion. My deep understanding and love for pets comes from years of hands-on experience. Back in Italy, my family's American Pitbull Terrier, Khabib, was my energetic best friend. We'd enjoy multiple walks daily, often covering 3-4 miles at a time to satisfy his wonderful, lively spirit. I truly miss those walks. I'm also experienced with cats, having cared for our two majestic Maine Coons, Lilith and Satanas. This included daily playtime, gentle brushing, and all the affection they could handle, they always chose my bed to sleep on at night! The main goal with dogs is to know what’s their motivation, it can be the ball, food or something else once you gain control of that your are the Boss, Dogs needs constant leadership in the young ages, and I’m very good instructing discipline and reward their good behaviour with certified first quality treats. Will offer energetic, long walks tailored to your dog's needs, or slow calm strolls to the old or perhaps not so sporty friends. Loving care, playtime. A natural, calming bond animals sense my genuine care and feel at ease. Bonus: As a photography enthusiast, I love capturing pets in their element. I'll happily provide free, beautiful snapshots of your pet enjoying their time with me. Driven by a childhood dream of becoming a vet, my greatest joy is ensuring animals are happy, healthy, and thriving. About: I am an animal lover, I have previously worked in a family ran kennels. I also have my own experience with owning a mixed breed reactive dog. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. As a pet owner myself, I plan my day around making sure my pets are fed, exercised, and given plenty of attention and enrichment. This makes it easy for me to fit caring for other pets into my schedule. I always follow each pet owner’s routine and instructions to make sure their pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I take the time to get to know each pet’s personality, ensuring they have fresh water, meals on schedule, exercise and playtime. I have had previous experience working in a family run kennels working with a range of breeds and temperaments. As I’m currently looking for my next job opportunity, I have a flexible schedule and excellent availability, allowing me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. This means I can be reliable, accommodate a variety of booking times where possible, and ensure your pets are never rushed during visits.

About: I’ve grown up with animals and currently have one dog and three cats, so caring for pets is just part of my everyday life. I’m used to the little messes, the different personalities, and the routines that come with them, and I genuinely enjoy it. Being around animals feels natural to me, and I’m patient, attentive, and comfortable handling whatever comes up. I’ll treat your pets with the same care and attention I give my own. I’ve recently graduated from university and am currently based at home, which means I have a very flexible schedule. I’m available throughout most of the week and can dedicate plenty of time and attention to caring for pets, whether that’s regular check-ins, longer stays, or last-minute needs. While I’m not able to board pets in my own home, I’m very happy to care for them in the place they feel safest in your home. I understand how important it is for pets to stay in their usual environment and routine, especially when their owners are away. I can stay in your home to provide consistent care and companionship, or carry out regular check-ins to make sure they’re fed, comfortable, and doing well. I’ll always treat your home and your pets with respect, and make sure you feel updated and reassured while you’re away.

About: Hi, I’m Chloe! ☺️ I’ve always had a huge passion for animals, and truly can’t think of anything better than spending my days with dogs! 🐾 I grew up surrounded by pups of all shapes and sizes — from Great Danes and Springer Spaniels to a cheeky little Jack Russell — so I know just how different (and special!) every dog’s personality can be. I live in Milton, Barnsley. This means I am super close to several large parks and miles of gorgeous countryside — the perfect spots for long or short walks, exploring, and getting all that happy energy out. Whether your pooch loves a good game of fetch or a steady countryside stroll, I’ll make sure they have the best time. Any dogs I look after are treated like my own — plenty of love, cuddles, and maybe a few too many treats! You can relax knowing your beloved companion is safe, happy, and being completely spoiled while you’re away. I love nothing more than spoiling your pooch - rest assured your baby will be treat like the prince or princess that they are whilst youre away! I will photograph/video & update everything we get up to so you feel like you are with us the whole time (unless you need a break!) 🐶💛 My prices vary and I am more than open to a discussion about pricing to what suits your needs! I have been walking dogs since I was 11 - My family had a springer spaniel and I used to walk him everywhere - he was so active and so am I - so we worked well! Since this, I have always enjoyed walking pooches. I lived in Leeds for 10 years and had a few regular dogs that I walked and looked after including a Cocker Spaniel, Staffie & Schnauzer. My Availability 🐾 I currently work Monday to Friday from 8:30-4PM - but my weekends are all about the dogs! 🐶💛 From Friday evening through Sunday night, I’m completely free to look after your pups and give them my full attention. Whether they love long countryside walks or just want to curl up on the sofa for snuggles, I’ve got them covered. I’m lucky to have lots of lovely walking routes nearby — perfect for getting some fresh air and tail wags in! And if your dog prefers a more relaxed vibe, they’re always welcome to make themselves at home and chill on the sofa with me. 🐕 I do work nearby so I am able to pop home on lunch breaks too 🐶 Your dog’s safety and happiness are always my top priorities. I live in a cozy house with a large, secure garden — perfect for safe playtime and fresh air. Being in a rural area means we’re surrounded by peaceful countryside walks and quiet lanes, ideal for relaxed strolls or energetic adventures, depending on your pup’s personality. I take every precaution to make sure your furry friend feels comfortable, cared for, and safe at all times. You can count on regular updates, plenty of photos, and complete peace of mind knowing your dog is in loving, responsible hands. 💛

About: I’ve had dogs of one sort or another all my life. They have been my constant source of support, company and joy. Now retired after years working from home I am walking dogs for those that need help and support. I am now retired, after years of working from home and looking after the family’s various dogs, cats and assorted weird and wonderful pets. As a retiree, I really don’t have a schedule. As always my dogs dictate my day and we try to be flexible with each other. I really am free to meet the needs of my customers and will always negotiate a way to help. My dogs and cats share my home. I keep them fed and watered and cared for and loved. I consider them my friends and family. I will treat your animals with the same care and consideration.

There are 1,555 sitters on Rover for Cat Sitting in Rotherham. About 92% of Rotherham sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
