“Shaun and his family looked after my dog so well - he had a wonderful time. They are very caring and they were very happy to walk and play with my dog. I am very grateful and I will certainly be calling on them again. Thank you!”

“we were very pleased to find Laurie to look after our dog (Toby), first time weve left him with anyone outside of family so we were a bit nervous about it. Laurie was great from the offset, very understanding and attentive to Toby's needs/requirements regarding walks, eating and habits etc. i would definitely recommend Laurie's services and will book with her again when needed, thanks again Laurie”

“Paddy had a lovely time with Sophie & Charlotte, sent us regular updates on Paddy, they have a lovely home which makes your pet feel at home, a lovely couple who we'll definitely be using again & definitely recommend.”

“Veronika and her lovely family looked after Che as if she was their own well loved family pet. She had a very nice sleepover with lots of cuddles and walks. Veronika was very kind and sent pictures and updates. I especially liked the picture of Che making friends with a cat.”

“Bradley cared for Ziggy brilliantly 😁. I always worry about leaving him but I could tell by all the videos Bradley sent , that he was so happy and having a fabulous time ( I think he's missing Lincoln already) . I will absolutely be booking with Bradley again. Thank you Bradley for putting my mind at rest ,so I could enjoy a few days away.”

“We could not recommend Abbie highly enough. We have two little dogs, one of which is not dog friendly. We were a week and a half away from going abroad for our wedding and were truly concerned we weren’t going to find anyone willing to take on our little handful but Abbie was so kind, took time out of her day to meet with us twice to ensure her dog and our dogs were fine, and then cared for our dogs as if they were her own. She send lovely videos and photos from their adventures on walks and sunset bbq’s and Bo came back happy that he hadn’t just made friends with Abbie’s little dog Bumble, but two large hound pups that I would never have believe Bo would tolerate. She saved our bacon and we are so happy we have her now for future holidays when we need the dogs to have a home from home x”

“Hannah was great with our dogs. We left our yorkie cross and saluki cross with Hannah for 2 weeks. She rescued our holiday at the last minute when our previous dog sitter cancelled. They have come home very happy, healthy and totally exhausted from good exercise. They have been very well looked after which is not an easy task with 2 very different dogs.”

“Monty stayed with Linnet for 4 nights, he came back happy. Communication was brilliant throughout. I would definitely bring Monty again and would recommend to anyone!!”

“Jasper had a brilliant time with graham and his dog wilf. Graham sent daily videos and photos of Jasper on his walks and playing with wilf .which were very reassuring. Would definitely use graham again. 💯 recommend”

“Paige is fab! Betty had a great stay with her, exploring lots of new things and I felt really at ease knowing she was being looked after by someone who has so much love and care for animals. Communication was great, lots of photos/videos. Would definitely recommend.”

“Tom and his family did a great job taking care of our puppy. Sending pictures shows thoughtful consideration, allowing us to stay connected and reassured about Harley's well-being. Moreover, our puppy seemed happy and relaxed when we picked him up, indicating his positive experience with the family. We cannot recommend them enough! It’s always valuable to find trustworthy and caring individuals who can provide a safe and loving environment for our furry friends. Thank you!”

“Alice was great with Wilf. We had a meet and greet first, then Wilf stayed for an overnight. There's plenty of room, a very large garden and lots of land. Wilf had walks and played with Alice's dog. He came back very tired! We'll certainly be using Alice again.”

“Amanda was amazing! Completed a meet and greet with our two pups and made them feel right at home. Lots of walks and treats to keep them busy. She attended to the different dogs needs so well - one high energy gundog and another recent mixed rescue. Thank you so much!! 🐾 🤍”

“Cuba was very happy with Laura and came home full of herself! When our return plans changed, Laura was very accommodating and understanding. Cuba is booked in with Laura again and I have no hesitation in recommending her.”

“Liga provided the perfect home for our dog, Jack, while we were away for 2 days. He has very specific dietary needs and she was meticulous following them even with other dogs to care for as well. Her communication was stellar and Jack had an amazing time. Would absolutely recommend her as a dog sitter/boarding.”

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
