“This is the second time I have used Dorothy and once again, she was absolutely fantastic. I could tell she really enjoyed having Kora and could tell Kora really enjoyed her stay. A great sitter, who tailors things to suit you and your pet perfectly. Thanks Dorothy”

“Linnet looked after our 7 month old pup whilst we went out of town for an event for the night. Being a Viszla X Collie our pup is highly energetic and driven but Linnet provided a safe place for him to be away from his usual home. Linnet kept us updated with pictures and videos throughout the booking which was highly appreciated. ⭐⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ definitely recommend”

“My two lively doodles were very happy having a weekend with Charys. They were very relaxed throughout and it was nice getting updates. She's a confident dog sitter which every dog owner needs when leaving their dogs for the first time in a new setting. There were waggy tails from drop off to pick up, very good. Would definitely use Charys as our dog sitter again.”

“Victoria did an excellent job of looking after Juniper for a couple of nights. Her home is spacious and dog friendly, with an enclosed garden. We had a good number of photos showing how Junie was getting on, both out on walks and relaxing at home. It's obvious that Victoria is both very caring but also practical and organised in her approach to looking after dogs. We'd highly recommend her.”

“Cherry had a wonderful stay with Graham. We received lots of lovely photos and videos throughout her stay, which was so reassuring, and communication was excellent from start to finish. It was clear that Cherry was having a fantastic time, enjoying beautiful walks and plenty of playtime with Wilf. She came home as a very happy, relaxed dog, which says it all. We would highly recommend Graham to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter, and we wouldn't hesitate to book with him again. Thank you for taking such great care of Cherry!”

About: I’ve had experience with dogs, especially for the whole of my life. Since I was born, I had grown up around dogs so I know they mannerisms quite well. From a HUGE mutt who loved to chase rabbits and a Feisty jack tussle to a tiny yapping sausage dog I’m capable of either. To ease your mind, I have also studied animal management for two years, and I have a certificate and a diploma to show for it. while I attended I walked a few of the resident dogs who had a wide range of behavioural issues such as reactivity. And lastly, I also worked with a greyhound rescue for awhile so it’s safe to say I am very used to dogs that like to pull! I am working full time so Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with most Saturdays I will not be free. Unfortunately my schedule is tricky but I’m always willing to find the perfect time to help manage your own busy schedules. For now I’m only going to provide dog walking services around your own area, so I will be driving to you. I will not provide any leads, harnesses or muzzles so please make sure your own dog has the appropriate restraint.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs throughout my childhood and have always loved being around and caring for them. I’m confident with feeding, walking, playing with and looking after dogs, and understand how important it is to have someone you can genuinely trust with your pet. I’m caring, responsible and attentive, and I’ll always make sure your dog feels safe, happy and loved while they’re with me. I also work from home regularly, so I’m able to give dogs plenty of company, attention, walks and fuss throughout the day! I work from home regularly, which means I can offer plenty of company, attention and care throughout the day. I’m able to take regular breaks for walks, playtime and toilet breaks, and I love having a furry companion around while I work! I’m also available for selected evenings, weekends and overnight stays. live in a quiet ground-floor barn conversion with a secure, fenced garden, giving dogs plenty of safe outdoor space for toilet breaks and fresh air throughout the day. My home is calm and comfortable, and I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual routine, including feeding times, walks and any specific care instructions. Your dog will be treated like part of the family and given plenty of attention and affection during their stay.
“Ellie was great with Basil! Good communication and it was lovely to get some photos of him while I was away. He settled quite quickly, I understand, which gave me reassurance. Really recommend Ellie to anyone! Thank you for looking after my boy so well.”

“I immediately felt comfortable with Ian when we first met him. Our dog was relaxed & happy to explore & follow Ian around which was reassuring & when I dropped or spaniel off for his first overnight stay, he trotted in quite happily with Ian making a fuss of him. Ian was also very understanding & flexible when our plans were disrupted due to adverse weather conditions affecting travel. I will definitely be booking Ian again in the future.”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences – Newark
After such a great experience the first time, we had no hesitation choosing Nigel and his family to look after Jackson again. Once again, he was so well cared for and we could relax knowing he was with people we trust. We feel very lucky to have found such a kind and reliable family for our old boy. We’ll definitely be happy to book with them again! ❤️

Thank you Pamela for taking such good care of Florence. She had a wonderful time during her week with you. Being able to relax on holiday knowing that she was happy, well cared for is the best feeling ever. Getting the daily photos and little videos were something to look forward to and much appreciated. It’s a 90 mile round trip for us but I wouldn’t leave Florence with anyone else! I know that she’s in the best possible homely environment and well loved! Thanks again and sorry she stole your dinner 🫣

Georgia and George have just home boarded my spaniel, Daymer, for a long week end for the first time and everything went very well. Over the weekend I had a number of updates and photos and Daymer was clearly very relaxed and happy. Thank you Georgia and I will certainly be using your services again. JG

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
