“Charys looked after my dog for the weekend and I’m very happy with the care that she received. My dog came home very happy too. I also got updates, which I appreciated. I have already booked my dog’s next stay.”

“This is the second time I have used Dorothy and once again, she was absolutely fantastic. I could tell she really enjoyed having Kora and could tell Kora really enjoyed her stay. A great sitter, who tailors things to suit you and your pet perfectly. Thanks Dorothy”

“Absolutely fantastic host for Kora. Seemed like she absolutely loved staying there and I had regular updates which helps massively. Wilf, their other dog was lovely and think my dog wants to go back just to have some more time with him!! Thanks both.”

“Scout had the best time with Sophie - so much so he didn’t want to leave. Sophie was amazing when I messed up my dates and was very accommodating. Appreciated her updates and would highly recommend. Thanks!”

About: I am definitely a dog person, having had dogs for the last twenty years, The first dog of my married life came from the Dogs Trust when it was NCDL, so that shows how long I have had dogs. All of my furry friends have been a rescue of some kind so i am happy to work with the more 'challenged' doggies. Personally, I am semi-retired, and have had dogs in my life for as long as I can remember. The family would be lost without our furry friend. Dogs have always had the run of the houses, but can accommodate any cages if needed, younger dogs have always been caged at night to start with. A large garden, and located next to far reaching fields which is enough for even the most energetic of furry friends. Operating a twice daily feed (after walks) and love giving meaty treats to anyone that visits (Human or canine!)
About: Hi, I’m Ange 👋🐾 — a lifelong animal lover, DBS checked, with years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all shapes and sizes. I now offer dog day care and pet services from Sutton on Trent, a lovely rural village surrounded by countryside, quiet lanes, and peaceful walking routes 🌿🐕. It’s a calm, home-from-home environment, ideal for dogs who enjoy companionship, fresh air, and gentle structure throughout the day. Originally from South Africa, I spent many years rescuing and caring for animals including injured Rottweilers, pot-bellied pigs, leopard geckos, kittens, rabbits, hedgehogs, birds, fish, and snakes 🐶🐷🦎🐰🐍. When I moved to the UK, I brought my German Shepherd, Jax, with me. Together, we completed obedience and protection training, giving me valuable experience handling large breeds and understanding canine behaviour. I’m confident caring for dogs with reactive behaviours, allergies, specialised diets including raw feeding, senior needs, and medication routines 💛. My approach is calm, patient, and tailored to each pet’s personality, routine, and comfort. ⸻ 🐶 Services Offered ✅ Dog day care in a calm countryside setting ✅ Dog walking tailored to age, fitness, and temperament ✅ Drop-in visits for feeding, companionship, medication, playtime, and toilet breaks ✅ Senior dog care and gentle enrichment ✅ Secure off-lead walks available if booked at a secure field ⸻ 🐾 Why Choose Me? • 🌿 Rural village location with access to lovely countryside walks • 🐕 Experienced with dogs of all ages, breeds, and needs • 💪 Confident handling large and strong breeds • 🥩 Knowledgeable in raw feeding, allergy management, and medication • 🐈 Comfortable caring for cats, small animals, reptiles, birds, and more • 📸 Regular updates and photos for peace of mind • 💛 Calm, reliable, and compassionate care The property has a large garden and outdoor space 🌳. Please note, the garden is not fully enclosed, so dogs are always supervised and kept safely on lead or long line unless we have arranged a secure enclosed field booking. Your pet’s safety will always come first. Whether your dog enjoys countryside walks, quiet companionship, playtime, or a relaxed day in a homely setting, I’ll care for them as if they were my own 🐾💛 Let’s arrange a meet-and-greet so we can find the best routine for your pet. 🐶✨ I’m currently preparing to start my MSc this autumn and also work part-time, so I’ll have a flexible schedule that allows me to offer pet care during both weekdays and weekends. I’m happy to work around your routine — whether that’s morning walks, midday visits, or evening care. Just let me know what suits you and we can find a time that works for everyone! Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, their safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities. I take time to understand each pet’s personality, routines, and needs so they feel secure and relaxed in my care. I maintain a calm, positive environment and always follow any instructions you provide — from feeding routines and medication to preferred walking routes or sleeping arrangements. I never rush interactions and always allow pets to approach me at their own pace, building trust naturally. Your pet will be treated with the same love, respect, and attention I give my own. I have an enclosed garden with high walls

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and absolutely love having them as part of the family. “Our 11mth old red fox lab came to us as at 6 months as a rescue with “anxiety” issues… scared & extremely nervous of new people & other dogs. We continue to socialise him as much as possible & had attempted a couple of short stays at boarding kennels to start getting him used to it so that we could take a holiday at some point! Unfortunately the boarding kennels didn’t go well at all; it just terrified him & stressed him out even more. So we then decided to try a home boarder instead, someone he would hopefully be able to get used to & be happy to stay with. We found Ian & Asli…well what an absolute god send!! After an initial meet up, we left our gorgeous boy with Ian & Asli for 1 week while we took a holiday abroad. They have clearly showered him with love, patience & kindness & we cannot thank them enough for looking after him so well in their beautiful home. We received regular pics & videos while we were away and I think it’s safe to say… he enjoyed his holiday with Ian & Asli (as well as another dog to play with) as much as we enjoyed out time away.. and without having to worry about him. A million Thankyous Ian & Asli.. Zack looks forward to seeing you again another time soon ?”

“Our dog had an amazing time with Eleanor and her dog . It's so nice to know your pet is happy when you have to leave them . I'll definitely be using her services again in the future. Thank you A+++”

“Pamela looked after my springer spaniel for a weekend for me at short notice, it was nice to have lots of updates, pictures and video via WhatsApp to set my mind at rest. ‘Dude’ seemed very happy and well exercised when I collected him. Would definitely recommend ?”

“Georgia and George have just home boarded my spaniel, Daymer, for a long week end for the first time and everything went very well. Over the weekend I had a number of updates and photos and Daymer was clearly very relaxed and happy. Thank you Georgia and I will certainly be using your services again. JG”

Apollo had so much fun with Linnet that he was disappointed to leave! We booked quite last minute for a night of boarding and Linnet made everything super straightforward and problem-free. She and her partner obviously care very much for animals and treat them like one of their own; it was lovely to see the updates as they came through to see what Apollo was getting up to and to see how much fun he was having. Would highly recommend :)

Really grateful that Roxy could short stay in such a lovely dog friendly environment. Charys took care to see Roxy’s needs and anxious personality were well catered for. Photo updates throughout were quick to put us at ease too. Our Thanks to Charys, we found her service to be competent and caring in all respects.

Emily was amazing with my puppy Mona - I was nervous dropping her off because she hadn’t had much exercise after work and I thought she’d be a bit crazy! But I had regular updates through the weekend, felt so comforted that Mona was well taken care of and made a new best friend in Emily’s dachshund Max 😊 will definitely be using Emily again, and Mona already misses them!

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
