I spent countless hours searching for someone with real experience handling working dogs, as we have a Border Collie, and it was so important to find the right fit. From the moment I met Dorothy at our meet and greet, I knew she was the one. Enzo absolutely fell in love with her and had such an amazing time during his doggy day care stay. I was looking for a true “home away from home” for him, and that’s exactly what Dorothy provides. She is incredibly knowledgeable, gentle, and patient—her experience really shines through in the way she cares for the dogs. I honestly couldn’t be happier and feel so reassured knowing Enzo is in such great hands.

Milo had a great stay with Sophie, Quinn and Dotty. Sophie was really good with Milo, she took time to meet him before his stay so he would feel more settled when he was dropped off. She is very knowledgeable when it comes to dogs and gave Eva and I lots of really good tips and advice about treats, food, grooming and dog toys and good places to shop for them. During the stay she kept us updated with messages and pictures which is always nice to see thats he's in good hands and having a great time. Milo really enjoyed his stay and will be back again.

Andreia was so lovely with my chi and me! I was really nervous to leave my precious boy as I have never left him before. Andreia reassured me that he would be fine, I went through his basic needs which were all followed during his stay. I had gorgeous photographs sent to me during the time he was with Andreia. If I ever need my boy looking after again in the area I would definitely request to go back to Andreia. ☺️

About: 🐾 I'm a genuine dog lover who has grown up around dogs my whole life, so I'm very comfortable caring for them and understand their different personalities, needs, and routines. 🐾 I love spending time outdoors and enjoy long walks, so your dog will get plenty of exercise, fresh air, and attention. Whether they love energetic adventures or a gentle stroll, I'm happy to match their pace and make sure they have a great time. 🐾 I know how important it is to leave your dog with someone you can trust. I'll treat your dog as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away. Along with walks, I'm always happy to provide lots of fuss, playtime, cuddles (if they enjoy them!), and companionship to help them feel relaxed and loved. I work part-time, which gives me the flexibility and availability to provide your dog with the time, care, and attention they deserve. I love being outdoors and regularly go on walks, so your dog will enjoy plenty of exercise, fresh air, and companionship. Whether it's a longer countryside walk or a stroll around the local area, I'll make sure they're happy, active, and well looked after throughout the day. Your dog's safety and comfort are my top priorities. My home provides a welcoming, relaxed environment where they can feel at ease during their stay. I also have a fully fenced garden, giving dogs a secure outdoor space to stretch their legs, play, and enjoy some fresh air under supervision. Whether they're relaxing indoors or exploring the garden, I'll make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for throughout their stay.

About: After a health scare & with my boys being much older now, I completed an Animal Care course to gain additional knowledge in animal care. I had a Westie for 16 years & now have a Havachon that we have had for 10 years now. I have built up a good sized portfolio of regular dogs & cats through BARK providing walks, pop ins & stays. *Additional customer reviews can be found on BARK. I am available in the week to walk & the week/weekend to provide pop in visits & day stays at my house. I do go over to France four times per year as we have a small house out there, but this would be discussed with the pet owners. I am offering dog walking, pop ins & day visits to my house. I have a large house & a good sized garden which is fenced & gated with no way to escape. I take my own dog Lola over to another village where there is a lovely long lane where we walk. I have now built up a good sized client base & so I would plan accordingly with your dog or cat & my regular clients.

About: I have taken care of pets since I was 5 years old, when my parents adopted our first rescue border collie. Since then, I have grown up with three other rescue dogs, providing me with a wide range of experience with different personalities, natures and needs. I have cared for young active dogs who need plenty of play, rescue dogs with nervous temperaments who require patience and reassurance and senior dogs that need comfort, peace and a slower pace. My dog, Toffee, was diagnosed with CCLD, and I played an active role in managing her care, recovery plan and medications. This taught me how important consistency and routines are for for pets that need that little bit of extra support. I also have plenty of experience dog sitting for family and friends, and have cared for cats, guinea pigs and rabbits. I would love the opportunity to help more loving owners by providing caring, reliable and attentive pet care :) I am currently available most weekdays and weekends, with a flexible schedule. I live with my two parents who are very welcoming pet-lovers themselves. I have one 10-year-old female golden retriever, who lives at a slightly slower pace, but still loves to play. I have a fenced garden and spacious living areas, and your pet will have freedom to roam. I live close to lots of lovely fields, with plenty of room to run around.

I’m so happy to have found Linnet, and whilst I had the most random delay happen in getting to her and had to rearrange times etc. it’s reassuring to know that she can accommodate last minute changes due to unexpected journey incidents. I’ve got another booking to leave my dog with Linnet already so all good!

Had a meet and greet which went well and was a good confidence booster before Charlie’s doggy day care. All went well on the day including a nice update during Charlie’s stay. Ian was very relaxed and clearly experienced with looking after dogs.

There are 702 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Newark . About 85% of Newark sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Newark commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
