“Rebecca was fantastic! I eeally appreciated having someone come who greatly enjoys spending time with cats, even those that are very shy. My cats seemed to really enjoy meeting her and playing with her (one of them)! I really appreciated the thorough updates and pictures. It was a big relief to know my cats were so well cared for!”

About: I’m a new graduate veterinarian from the University of Liverpool currently applying to jobs abroad. Whilst i’m waiting, i’m more than happy to help you out by house-sitting or drop-ins. My family have owned dogs throughout my childhood, from terriers to border collies to our springer Jasper, meaning i’m used to the exercise some dogs require. Any questions just give me a message. I’m currently organising various bits before moving abroad (date TBC) so other than emails, occasional interviews and generic admin, i’m free to cater to your dog’s needs. We have a 6yo rescue Springer Spaniel and previously we’ve owned a Lakeland Terrier and a rescue Border Collie. They’ve all had their quirks and haven’t been the easiest to take care off so I don’t expect your’s to be either, just let me know what works for you and we can go from there.
“I highly recommend Donna! They were reliable, caring, and took great care of my (3!) cats while I was away. I felt completely at ease knowing my pets were in good hands. Thank you!”

About: Since I was young, my family have been breeding bull dogs and I helped out a lot. Growing up we have had many dogs that I have loved to take on long walks. Currently we don’t have any at the moment which has left me wanting to go out and be with dogs again! I love long walks, hiking and being outdoors. I am currently waiting to enroll on a pets first aid course! Pet care is the perfect way to fill my week with something I truly enjoy, while making sure your furry friend gets the attention they deserve. Whether I’m walking dogs or house sitting for any type of pet. My priority is always their safety, comfort, and happiness. I’m trustworthy, reliable, and respectful of your home as everything will be exactly as you left it. I make sure pets are never put in unsafe situations, follow their routines closely, and give them plenty of attention and care while you’re away. You can relax knowing your home and your pets are in good hands.
About: I have always absolutely loved animals, from growing up in a village with lots of small pets to my adult life which has been centred around my love for dogs. I have lots of hands on experience with a family dog over the last 10 years, but most importantly became a dog mum to my very own rescue dog in 2024. I have experience with rescue dogs who need a little extra love and care. My dog is lead reactive on walks which means I have experience with this too. I am currently a primary school teacher which means I am available only on weekends during term time. However during school holidays I am available all day everyday to give your dog all the care and attention they need. I have a secure garden with 6ft fencing all round, which in summer doors are open throughout the day to allow freedom to roam outside whenever they please. During school holiday and on weekends, everyday I take my dog to a public enclosed park and woods area, where he can enjoy safe off lead exploring for at least an hour. He then has a shorter evening walk on lead around the residential area. There is also time for endless playing around the house and garden.

“It was an absolute pleasure to meet Jo. She is reliable, friendly and punctual. From the first contact, meet and greet and actual visit all went well and smooth! Thanks Jo for the photos and attention to detail. You made us feel relaxed and able to have stress free days away from home knowing that Zeeno is well cared for!”

About: Since being a little girl, I have found so much peace being among animals. I have owned nearly every furry under the sun (dogs, cats, rabbits, guineas, mice, hamsters and more!) and love the unique personality each animal has. I have a soft spot for rescues, most of my pets have been strays and love being able to show them that the world can be a good place with the right people in it! A few years of my working life was spent in a kennels and cattery, and have recently been running a Nature School for children, where we explore and care for wildlife, animals and the world around us. It has been great to pass on my love for the animal world, to the next generation. All ages and stages of life are welcome, from pups and kittens, right through to the OAPs - and the care I offer is tailored to each animal as an individual. I will ensure I follow your instructions and care plan to ensure everyone is as happy as they can be. I've spent my entire life working with animals and children - and yes maybe you do need to be a little crazy to do that! But I do thoroughly enjoy the chaos and pure love they bring everyday. I'd be honoured to care for your beloved pets, and give you peace of mind for when you can't be there. From July, I will be working from home, so can offer the flexibility you desire. I have my children's school run twice a day, so have ample time between 9am and 3.30pm to accommodate your furry friends. I will also be available most evenings for later visits and walks if required. Weekends I can also be flexible. My large car can fit any size dog in, so can drive to green spaces for walks if desired! I have a large tiered garden, consisting of artificial turf, a bark area and decking. The house is a detached 3 bed, with 2 downstairs sitting areas, so your pets have plenty to of space to choose where they feel most comfortable.During warm weather, dogs can access an outdoor animal friendly paddling pool, and our outside space has plenty of trees to provide natural shade and a cooler temperature.

About: I’ve grown up around dogs since I was 10 and have always been involved in caring for them. I’ve helped raise and train puppies, including feeding, walking, playtime, and teaching basic routines. As all of my family have dogs, I’m very comfortable around different breeds, sizes, and personalities, and I understand how important it is to give them patience, attention, and care. I currently work full time, but have Thursday and Sundays off with the chance of finishing the rest of the days at 15:30pm. From Thursday to Sunday I can board the dogs from 5pm. I have a large outdoor space at the back of my flat which is perfect for dogs to safely enjoy freedom, playtime, exercise, and relaxation. I will provide a calm, caring, and secure environment where pets feel comfortable and well looked after. We have space in the flat for a crate if this is what your dog needs.
“Emma was amazing! It was my first time using Rover and wasn’t sure what to expect, but Emma made it a great experience. She had great communication, gave daily updates and provided some really lovely photos for us to look at. I would highly recommend Emma to friends and would definitely choose her again. Thank you! x”

“Sarah is super calm and relaxed, our rescue dog Hazel is a bit anxious around new people but Sarah put her at ease and looked after her for us with plenty of updates and photos. Thanks so much Sarah! xx”

“Kirsty was happy to come and check in on my puppy at short notice, and seemed to leave him very happy! We were comfortable having Kirsty in the house, and she seemed great around my dog. I will reach out again if required☺️ We also got loads of photos and very detailed feedback as to what happened during the visit.”

About: There has never been a time in my life when I haven't had a pet! Over the course of my childhood and adulthood my family have owned and cared for cats, dogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, and rabbits. So I'm neither a 'dog person' nor a 'cat person' - I love both! Nowadays I care for my year old pet cat, and also look after friends' and relatives' cats and dogs whilst they are on holiday or away. A year ago, my partner and I adopted our cat, Kintaro. As such, I am able to care for pets in their own homes and to walk dogs, but am sadly unable to care for pets in my own home. Fortunately, however, I am a PhD student and am able to work on my laptop wherever I happen to be; my partner works from home and is able to care for our cat if I am out. As such, I am often available to care for others' pets! I am able to care for pets in their own home, and am also available to dog walk. (When in a pet's home, I am caring - but not pushy. This means that I will make fast friends with confident pets, but know to give shyer animals their own space. I also follow recommended guidelines on feeding quantities, give pets plenty of opportunities to go to the loo outside (under supervision), and take dogs on walk twice a day (or more, should they wish it!)
About: About Me: I provide dedicated house sitting and walking services designed to keep your pets safe, happy, and comfortable in their own familiar environment. No matter the size, breed, or medical requirement, I am ready to give your pet the premium care they deserve! My daily schedule revolves entirely around your pet's established routine to keep them stress-free. What to expect from my schedule: Perfect Routine: I replicate your exact feeding, walking, and medication hours. Tailored Walks & Play: Dedicated outdoor time for dogs or engaging laser and feather playtime for cats. Quality Bonding: Plenty of interactive attention, mental stimulation, and affection. Overnight Care: I stay at your home overnight so your pets never feel lonely. Constant Updates: Regular text, photo, and video updates throughout the day. Safety and trust are my highest priorities while caring for your beloved pets and your home. How I ensure a safe, trustworthy environment: Medical Precision: I double-check dosages and follow strict schedules for all medications. All-Size Expertise: Confident handling and body-language reading for dogs of any size and cats of any temperament. Secure Environment: Strict attention to keeping doors and gates locked so indoor cats and dogs stay safe inside. Home Respect: Your living space is treated with the utmost respect, cleanliness, and care. Total Transparency: Open communication with quick replies whenever you check in.
About: As an animal lover and dog mum to two, I know how important it is that your pets are kept happy, healthy and entertained whatever your schedule. I've extensive experience with animals from a young age, having grown up on farms around dogs and horses. Able to offer a range of services to suit your pet's individual needs. I am available monday-friday for dog walking, pet home visits and boarding facilities. At weekends I am available for boarding/sitting. Please contact me to discuss anything outside of these hours as I will always try to be flexible! I have a large fenced garden for dogs to play in and walks will be carried out safely in local countryside and woodland and dogs will never be left unsupervised. Unfortunately I am unable to look after dogs listed on the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991
About: We got our first puppy when I was a teenager, she is now almost 12! Last year, I finally got my own puppy, who is 2 years old. I love looking after little puppies and dogs, happy to look after both young and old! I work full time, so would only be able to help on weekends in order to properly give your pet the care it needs. The weekends I’m at home I will spend with your dog. I have a completely secure garden that my puppy enjoys running around and a lovely neighbourhood. I have a secure house that is dog proofed!

Rebecca was amazing! Super punctual and professional and she got on very well with my cat. She took incredible photos of him including some hilarious action shots of him flying through the air! I will definitely book her again and recommend her animal whispering skills to anyone

This was our first time using the rover app and I'm pleased to say it all worked well. We booked a young lady named Zoe to come and look after our cat whilst we were away for a weekend. Zoe came in once each day as agreed and fed our cat and made sure she had water etc. She also sent us photos each day so we could see that Ruby was doing well and seemed happy. We felt happy knowing she was looked after and this put our minds at rest. We would happily book Zoe again in the future if we needed to.

Delia was amazing with my cat, Ozzy. He is naturally an introvert (so much that his presence for strangers might be felt only by disappearing food and litter box getting full), but Delia managed to give him some fuss and lovely stroking. I received regular updates and my pet was well taken care of. I will be definitely using Delia’s service next time when I go on holidays!

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Gedling pet parents with similar pet households.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gedling choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm.
