“Sophie has looked after Zelda for us before and we didn't hesitate in asking Sophie to look after her again. Sophie kept us well updated, with lots of great photos, and has cared for Zelda brilliantly - taking her for lots of walks, to a dog park and lots of other great things to do. We wouldn't ask anybody else to care for Zelda now! Thank you.”

“Julia was absolutely amazing with Safia ❤️ From the very beginning, she was caring, attentive, communicative, and incredibly thoughtful. She kept me updated throughout the stay with detailed messages about walks, food, water, playtime, and how Safia was doing emotionally, which gave me so much peace of mind, and the most thorough report about her day. She even washed and dried Safia’s blanket after a little accident without hesitation, such a kind gesture that truly shows how much she cares! Safia clearly felt comfortable and loved with Julia and her family, and it made me so happy to hear how well she got along with everyone 😊 I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better person. I would trust Julia again without a second thought and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, warm, patient, and genuinely loving with dogs. Thank you again for taking such wonderful care of Safia 🐾”

“Can't recommend Pricilla enough for dog boarding! Cleo is small and shy dog, so I was really nervous. But Pricilla was amazing from day one — sent daily photos and updates which kept me sane, and Cleo actually seemed to enjoy herself. She really got Cleo's shy personality. When we picked her up she was relaxed and happy, not stressed at all, which is huge for such a nervous dog. If you need someone trustworthy for an anxious dog, go with Pricilla. We'll definitely book again!”

“I can’t thank Sonia enough for stepping in at the very last minute to look after my French Bulldog, Pablo. With no time for a meet and greet, I was a bit nervous leaving him with someone new — but Sonia immediately put me at ease. She was incredibly responsive, professional, and most importantly, kind and calm with Pablo, who can be a bit of a diva sometimes! I got regular updates and photos, and it was clear he was relaxed and happy in her care. Finding someone so reliable and caring on such short notice is rare, and I feel very lucky to have found Sonia. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again — highly recommended!”

“Tereza was a brilliant host for our dog Rossi. She is super-calm and immediately won over Rossi. She was great with communications and sent loads of photos. 100% recommended!”

“Five stars isn't enough for Sotiria! She took care of our dog, Bandit, during the bank holiday, and she was absolutely brilliant. Professional, caring, and Bandit clearly adored her. Kept us well updated and sent lots of cute pictures as well! We're so grateful and will definitely be using her again!”

“Bruiser absolutely loved his stay with Victoria. He has come home so happy and we can tell he had the most wonderful time. Victoria was so kind and always was in touch with photos and videos. Can’t recommend Victoria enough.”

“Really amazing person . Always keeping me update about my puppy by sending me pics of him. Blaze was so happy and comfortable with him. He did a great job with blaze. I’m gonna keep my dog with him whenever I need someone to look after blaze. Thanks again”

“Rosie, our Old Tyme Bulldog, stayed with Amanda and her family for a week while we went on holiday. We would highly recommend her. Amanda and her family clearly love dogs and Rosie had a great time. Amanda sent us regular updates, photos and videos throughout the week so we didn't have to worry whether Rosie was okay as we had videos of her enjoying herself. It was really reassuring. Great communication throughout. Rosie will definitely be staying with Amanda again and we'll be checking her availability before we book our next holiday :-)”

“Steve and his family were delightful and gave Maimie a lovely ‘home from home’ stay. Steve couldn’t have been more helpful. He gave us confidence from the moment we met him and his lovely dog Laszlo. He was a great communicator and sent through lovely updates and pictures while we were away. Best of all he clearly loves and understands dogs. It’s so great to find someone who is clearly adored by his canine friends! Thanks Steve and family!”

About: I grew up around dogs so they have always been a large part of my life. Along with my own, I often care for friends+family’s pets. I have experience with dogs of all ages - towards the end of his life, my senior dog was unable to use his back legs so he required special care and attention. Due to this, he also became incontinent so I am especially skilled with senior care. However, I am currently the owner of a pug puppy and so, I am perfectly capable of keeping up with the demands of an active puppy as well! As I am currently available all the time, he has my undivided attention, as will your dog also! I am available all the time which means constant love and care for your dog and plenty of playtime! I can also provide walks as often as needed. I have a large fenced garden which is perfect for playtime! I also have a friendly pug puppy who loves to play with other dogs and will be more than happy to share his toys & treats! There is plenty of space for your dog to run around, and also relax when it’s time to wind down. I have an aircon unit in my living room which has been very helpful in cooling the house down, especially during the high temperatures we’ve been having. I can also accommodate to any specific needs!
“Harvey enjoyed his stay with his new friend Riri and loved the company of Yimei too.Execllent caring for Harvey and we will be leaving Harvey for another holiday with Riri. I get pictures, videos and texts about how Harvey is adapting to his holiday home. Highly recommend Yimei.”

“Elly was absolutely brilliant with my greyhound Nev- he had such a good time with Dolly and friends that he was reluctant to leave when I came to pick him up!! I received regular updates throughout and would absolutely book Nev in with Elly again!”

About: I have had cocker spaniels for many years at one point having three together. I love dogs and currently besides my own dog I foster a dog and also regularly look after family members dogs I work part time as a nurse and so am able to board for long weekends or day care on a Friday but please enquire if you are looking for something else as I may be able to accommodate I live in a house with a secure garden with a park over the road aswell for lots of walks. Your dog will have free rein of the house and treated as one of the family
About: I have been around animals all my life and was lucky enough to grow up with dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and hamsters- to name a few. I am a very loving, relaxed and laidback pet owner and love being around animals. I happily share my sofa and bed with my pets, so if that is something your dog would like, they would feel right at home when staying with me. My dog Oscar is a friendly and playful British bulldog and I also have 2 x 10 year old cats so any dog visiting would have friends to play with. I also have experience looking after puppies as well as older dogs. I work 4 long day a week but am free over the weekends to look after your dog. I generally walk Oscar once a day for an hour but sometimes he gets an additional half hour walk as well so can easily offer this for your dog. I have a large enclosed garden and space in the house to keep any dog separate from Oscar at nighttime if needed. There is also space for a crate if you prefer your dog to sleep in a crate.

“Eugene had the best time! Thoroughly spoilt and looked after so well! Both Konrad and his partner a clearly dog lovers who really know their stuff! They took on board all the little details and quirks about Eugene's behaviour and sent lots of updates, messages, photos and videos. Would highly recommend. If I could give higher than 5* I would.”

“Lovely dog sitter! She kept me updated with pictures throughout and was really accommodating, even letting me drop Ralph off earlier than originally planned. Ralph had the best time and came home very happy! Would definitely recommend. Thank you so much! 🐶😊”

“Just picked Nellie up after a weekend with Lewis. Love the home from home environment where she was well cared for and was sent updates and photos of her stay. Would definitely recommend Lewis. Thank you so much for looking after her 🐕😊”

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
