“I can't thank Amanda enough for looking after our baby muddles,I was so relieved knowing that Amanda and her family were having fun with our baby and I could tell that muddles enjoyed every minute of his stay,I had multiple daily updates of muddles having fun and doing everything that he does at home so that is huge .I would recommend Amanda a 💯 and I will definitely use her help again .Thank you Amanda”

“Athinoula provided amazing care for our 6 year old cocker spaniel, Hazel. She took the time to arrange a pre visit to ensure Hazel got along with her dog and it was clear that she loves dogs and provided lots of care and attention. I had regular updates and photos of Hazel at her home and on outings with the family. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Athinoula for anyone looking for a caring and professional dog sitter!”

“Steven and his family are absolutely love sitters. They really helped us out very last minute and bean had the best time at their house. I'll definitely be using them again when we are in town. Lots of updates and pics too!”

“Absolutely amazing dog sitter! It has taken me 3 years to find someone who loves Izzy as much as we do and is understanding of her needs. Fran is such a lovely person who goes out of her way to provide a home from home environment for pets. Izzy had lots of walks and interaction with Fran and her family. She came back shattered! We received lots of messages and videos to reassure us which was great as it was the first time she was away overnight- and didn't stay with a family member. Thank you Fran! Xxx”

“Can't recommend Pricilla enough for dog boarding! Cleo is small and shy dog, so I was really nervous. But Pricilla was amazing from day one — sent daily photos and updates which kept me sane, and Cleo actually seemed to enjoy herself. She really got Cleo's shy personality. When we picked her up she was relaxed and happy, not stressed at all, which is huge for such a nervous dog. If you need someone trustworthy for an anxious dog, go with Pricilla. We'll definitely book again!”

“Julia was absolutely amazing with Safia ❤️ From the very beginning, she was caring, attentive, communicative, and incredibly thoughtful. She kept me updated throughout the stay with detailed messages about walks, food, water, playtime, and how Safia was doing emotionally, which gave me so much peace of mind, and the most thorough report about her day. She even washed and dried Safia’s blanket after a little accident without hesitation, such a kind gesture that truly shows how much she cares! Safia clearly felt comfortable and loved with Julia and her family, and it made me so happy to hear how well she got along with everyone 😊 I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better person. I would trust Julia again without a second thought and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, warm, patient, and genuinely loving with dogs. Thank you again for taking such wonderful care of Safia 🐾”

About: I grew up around dogs so they have always been a large part of my life. Along with my own, I often care for friends+family’s pets. I have experience with dogs of all ages - towards the end of his life, my senior dog was unable to use his back legs so he required special care and attention. Due to this, he also became incontinent so I am especially skilled with senior care. However, I am currently the owner of a pug puppy and so, I am perfectly capable of keeping up with the demands of an active puppy as well! As I am currently available all the time, he has my undivided attention, as will your dog also! I am available all the time which means constant love and care for your dog and plenty of playtime! I can also provide walks as often as needed. I have a large fenced garden which is perfect for playtime! I also have a friendly pug puppy who loves to play with other dogs and will be more than happy to share his toys & treats! There is plenty of space for your dog to run around, and also relax when it’s time to wind down. I have an aircon unit in my living room which has been very helpful in cooling the house down, especially during the high temperatures we’ve been having. I can also accommodate to any specific needs!
“I can’t thank Sonia enough for stepping in at the very last minute to look after my French Bulldog, Pablo. With no time for a meet and greet, I was a bit nervous leaving him with someone new — but Sonia immediately put me at ease. She was incredibly responsive, professional, and most importantly, kind and calm with Pablo, who can be a bit of a diva sometimes! I got regular updates and photos, and it was clear he was relaxed and happy in her care. Finding someone so reliable and caring on such short notice is rare, and I feel very lucky to have found Sonia. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again — highly recommended!”

“Tereza was a brilliant host for our dog Rossi. She is super-calm and immediately won over Rossi. She was great with communications and sent loads of photos. 100% recommended!”

“We couldn't be happier with the care Bethany provided! Milo was so happy and settled the entire time he was with her. We appreciate her brilliant service a lot and would definitely recommend Bethany to anyone looking for a reliable dogsitter.”

“Anna is a lovely lady who looked after my dog for 10 days. She looked after him really well and gave him loads of attention, which is what he likes. He had a cold but Anna looked after him very well. I would definitely use her again and would recommend her to anyone. Thank you for the care and kindness you gave Anna”

“Victoria is super professional but also warm and welcoming. She is very accommodating and provides excellent communication throughout the sitting period. Our dog, Larry, came home very happy and healthy - we could tell he had been very well cared for. I can highly recommend Victoria and we will most certainly be thrilled for Larry to stay with her again. Thank you Victoria for looking after our boy ☺️”

“Probably the best home care available. Ann gets to know your dogs full routine and needs, then adheres to it. She clearly cares about providing excellent care for the dogs she takes in and looks after them extremely well, whilst keeping you informed on a daily basis of how they are settling and getting on. Going forward should I need my dog boarded, Ann will be 1st choice.”

“Five stars isn't enough for Sotiria! She took care of our dog, Bandit, during the bank holiday, and she was absolutely brilliant. Professional, caring, and Bandit clearly adored her. Kept us well updated and sent lots of cute pictures as well! We're so grateful and will definitely be using her again!”

“I left my dog Gizmo with Avgi for the night and I have to say at first I was nervous as I did not know how Gizmo would be but Avgi reassured me the moment she took his lead that I knew he was going to be looked after so well and that Gizmo would be happy staying with Avgi, I have to say she is a wonderful pet sitter and kept me informed of how he was doing and kept me posted about his general wellbeing and this made me so happy that all was fine and well and that Gizmo was happy in his environment with Avgi. I hope to book again sometime when the need arises. Anybody that needs a sitter for their beloved pets loom no further than Avgi as she is totally dedicated, loves to be with your pet and treats them as she would her own. I was really grateful for all Avgi did for Gizmo and for my own peace of mind in my view he went from a home to another home and settled in lovely and that had to be the attentive care given by Avgi to make his stay very comfortable and all this was achieved. Thank you so much Avgi, you are a real star and a brilliant asset to what you do. Brilliant, keep up the great work what you do 🙏❤️🐶”

About: I’m a caring, trustworthy and patient pet sitter with experience caring for puppies, senior dogs and post-operative dogs who need extra attention and gentle support. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine and needs, so I always take the time to help them feel safe, comfortable and relaxed while in my care. I provide a calm, clean and loving home environment where dogs receive plenty of attention, affection, exercise and supervision throughout the day. Dogs are never left alone for long periods maximum 2-3hrs only when necessary and I make sure they have regular toilet breaks, playtime, walks and rest based on their individual routine and energy levels. I’m confident caring for energetic puppies who need patience and structure, as well as senior or recovering dogs who may require a slower pace, medication support, or extra comfort. I carefully follow all owner instructions to maintain routines and ensure pets feel settled and secure. Safety is always my top priority. Although I do not have a fully fenced yard, all outdoor time and walks are closely supervised, and dogs are always kept safely on leash when outside. I also carefully manage introductions and interactions if caring for multiple dogs at once to ensure every pet feels comfortable and safe. It is really rare that I will look after multiple dogs at once as I do prefer to look after one dog so I can provide him a safe place and comfort, unless it's from the same household. I know how important communication is when you’re away from your pet, so I provide regular updates, photos, and messages to give owners peace of mind throughout the stay. In the event of any emergency or concern, I would contact the owner immediately and seek veterinary care if needed. I am currently undertaking a first aid course for dogs. For safety reasons, I only accept vaccinated pets into my home. I treat every dog as if they were my own and always aim to give them the love, care and attention they deserve. As a student with a flexible schedule, I have plenty of time to spend with the pets I look after. I understand how important routine, attention, and patience are when it comes to animal care. Each pet is unique, and I always do my best to understand their personality and needs so they feel safe, comfortable, and at ease in my care. I care for pets in my home in a safe, calm, and loving environment. I live in an apartment with access to a large, secure fenced garden where dogs can enjoy supervised play and exercise off lead, but only with the owner's permission. I understand that every pet has their own routine, so I always follow the owner's instructions for feeding, walks, sleep, and any special requirements. Throughout their stay, pets receive plenty of attention, cuddles, playtime, and regular exercise to help them feel comfortable and at home. I'll also keep owners updated with photos and messages so they can have peace of mind while they're away.

“Lovely dog sitter! She kept me updated with pictures throughout and was really accommodating, even letting me drop Ralph off earlier than originally planned. Ralph had the best time and came home very happy! Would definitely recommend. Thank you so much! 🐶😊”

“Dimitra and her husband Leonard looked after our Dog Loki for 2 days Incl overnight. They were great hosts from start to finish, helped to get Loki settled in and sent regular updates throught his stay. They were also extremely flexible with picking up and dropping off times. We'd highly recommend them to look after your dog.”

Faye is just amazing! Ody had a fantastic time with her -so much so that he was a little reluctant to leave when we came to collect him! Ody stayed with Faye for about 3 weeks, and she regularly sent us updates and photos showing how he was doing. He has stayed with her three times or more, and I will definitely book with her again. She even gave him a wash and a brush after all those weeks. She is so caring with him and I would definitely recommend her. Thank you Faye! ☺️

Excellent, very welcoming and friendly. Dimitra is very helpful, nothing was any trouble for her. Axel only stayed one night as we had a family event but he was very well looked after. Dimitra sent lots of pictures of Axel who’s was very reassuring. I would use Dimitra again .

Although Luna has stayed with Vicky and her family a few times before, this was our first time leaving her while going abroad. Vicky made me feel very relaxed and reassured with daily updates and photos. Luna thoroughly enjoys her stays with Vicky and seeing how excited she gets when we arrive, fills me with confidence to know she is well looked after and made to be one of the family!

We would highly recommend Emily and Josh! Our two dogs stayed with them for a week and couldn’t have been looked after better. From the first meet and greet it was clear that they are a very caring family who love dogs, and having never left ours before, we felt very reassured and comfortable leaving them in their capable hands. They sent us lots of pictures and updates during the week and Evie and Teddy had a fabulous time 🥰

Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
