I left my very nervous little dog with Amanda for the first time but the photos and videos I received during the visit put my mind at rest, she was obviously having a great time playing with Amanda’s dog Milo. Looking forward to seeing you again soon.

About: I grew up with many cats, from the age of 3 until today. My first cat, Scampi, I had for 20 years from age 3-23 and we had many more through out that time. My current lovely cat babies are Leonardo DiCatrio (Leo) and Norma Jean. I have been looking after my sister’s cockapoo puppy for almost a year now when she is away and friends have relied on me to look after their dogs many times throughout the years. I have experience with small dogs such as a Jack Russell, medium dogs like my friend’s Australian Shepherd and Golden Retriever, as well as big dogs like Rottweilers. I have always been an animal lover and with my parents, we have fostered around 50 pregnant, injured or orphaned kitties for the rspca in their transitional period (from rescue until they are ready to find their forever home) ❤️ I am also used to administering oral medication and eye drops I have a flexible working schedule with work from home often an option and sometimes work evening events meaning I can care for pets both in the day and in the evening. I always make sure pets have access to a secure and familiar space so that they have a place to go to feel safe. I am calm, quiet and confident with pets and always willing to be patient with a pet as I am a new person coming into their home and recognise that this can be scary for them.

I honestly can’t thank Elly enough for taking such amazing care of Albert. He’s a Border Collie x Lab and quite a nervous dog, and this was the first time he’s ever been left away from me, so I was really anxious about it. Elly was absolutely brilliant from start to finish – so patient, kind and understanding with him. I got regular updates and photos which really put my mind at ease, and it was clear Albert was in safe hands. When I picked him up after Monday to Friday, he was happy, settled and comfortable, which says everything. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Elly to anyone, especially if you have a nervous dog. I’ll definitely be booking again!

Dimi had look after my retriever one year, she was very attentive towards him during meet and greet. When we left Rex with her for a day, she took him for couple of walks and sent regular photos of Rex having fun. His photos put us ease that he's been looked after. We will use her again in future

About: I’ve had pets since childhood — including dogs, cats, and rabbits — from energetic puppies to senior animals who need extra patience, care, and attention. For me, pets are family, and that’s exactly how I care for them: with love, respect, and dedication. I have hands-on experience with feeding, medication, hygiene, and understanding animal behavior, always adjusting to each pet’s individual needs. I’m passionate about animals and truly believe in the unconditional love they give us. For me, caring for them is a joy — and also a great responsibility that I carry out with the affection they deserve. I work flexible hours for a company based in another country, which allows me to take on walks or pet visits at scheduled times without any problem. During the week, I’m available in the mornings or after I pick up my daughter from school, which is also a great time for park visits and walks. I’m available to care for pets both during the week and on weekends, including for longer periods if needed, always with love, responsibility, and full attention. When I care for a pet in their own home, I always respect their space and routine, following the owner's instructions closely to keep everything as familiar and stress-free as possible. I'm very mindful of safety — paying close attention to doors, gates, windows, and anything that could pose a risk. During walks, I always keep pets on a leash and go at their pace, ensuring they feel comfortable and secure. I value open communication with pet owners and provide regular updates, photos, and notes so they feel confident and at ease while I’m with their pets. For me, the animal’s safety, comfort, and well-being always come first.

Carina was absolute brilliant with Artie, so flexible of his specific needs (he is very anxious and scared around other dogs) and helped to facilitate a really positive meeting between him and Mocha, who he now seems to be really relaxed around. She was really attentive and kept me well updated with photos (Artie particularly enjoyed the air-conditioning during the heatwave). Genuinely feel really lucky to have found someone so understanding and supportive of Artie's complications. Cannot thank her enough for making the whole experience so easy and making my first experience leaving Artie with a dog sitter such a positive one.

About: We have always had dogs. I love taking care of them (and if I could I would have 100)! Whether it’s energetic pups who love long walks, senior dogs who need a gentler pace, or shy pets who require patience and reassurance, I adapt my care to each dog’s unique needs. I understand the importance of trust when it comes to your furry family member, so I treat every pet as if they were my own. I am currently working full-time so my flexibility is limited through week days. However I am fully flexible on weekends and more than happy to take care of any furry angels! I live by myself in a flat which is spacious enough for small and medium dogs. We have a backyard where the dog can play and I love taking the dogs on walks. No one will be involved in dogs’ care but me.

About: I’m a caring, trustworthy and patient pet sitter with experience caring for puppies, senior dogs and post-operative dogs who need extra attention and gentle support. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine and needs, so I always take the time to help them feel safe, comfortable and relaxed while in my care.
I provide a calm, clean and loving home environment where dogs receive plenty of attention, affection, exercise and supervision throughout the day. Dogs are never left alone for long periods maximum 2-3hrs only when necessary and I make sure they have regular toilet breaks, playtime, walks and rest based on their individual routine and energy levels.
I’m confident caring for energetic puppies who need patience and structure, as well as senior or recovering dogs who may require a slower pace, medication support, or extra comfort. I carefully follow all owner instructions to maintain routines and ensure pets feel settled and secure.
Safety is always my top priority. Although I do not have a fully fenced yard, all outdoor time and walks are closely supervised, and dogs are always kept safely on leash when outside. I also carefully manage introductions and interactions if caring for multiple dogs at once to ensure every pet feels comfortable and safe. It is really rare that I will look after multiple dogs at once as I do prefer to look after one dog so I can provide him a safe place and comfort, unless it's from the same household.
I know how important communication is when you’re away from your pet, so I provide regular updates, photos, and messages to give owners peace of mind throughout the stay. In the event of any emergency or concern, I would contact the owner immediately and seek veterinary care if needed. I am currently undertaking a first aid course for dogs.
For safety reasons, I only accept vaccinated pets into my home. I treat every dog as if they were my own and always aim to give them the love, care and attention they deserve. As a student with a flexible schedule, I have plenty of time to spend with the pets I look after. I understand how important routine, attention, and patience are when it comes to animal care. Each pet is unique, and I always do my best to understand their personality and needs so they feel safe, comfortable, and at ease in my care. I care for pets in my home in a safe, calm, and loving environment. I live in an apartment with access to a large, secure fenced garden where dogs can enjoy supervised play and exercise off lead, but only with the owner's permission. I understand that every pet has their own routine, so I always follow the owner's instructions for feeding, walks, sleep, and any special requirements. Throughout their stay, pets receive plenty of attention, cuddles, playtime, and regular exercise to help them feel comfortable and at home. I'll also keep owners updated with photos and messages so they can have peace of mind while they're away.

About: I have many years of hands-on experience caring for animals, both through volunteering at an animal shelter and privately for friends and family. Working with animals has always been an important part of my life – something I truly enjoy and find deeply rewarding. I currently dedicate most of my free time to animals, simply because I love their company and genuinely care about their well-being. As a student with a flexible schedule, I have plenty of time to spend with the pets I look after. I understand how important routine, attention, and patience are when it comes to animal care. Each pet is unique, and I always do my best to understand their personality and needs so they feel safe, comfortable, and at ease in my care. Your pet will have full access to my home. I also have a quiet, private room where pets can relax whenever they need their own space – a great balance between comfort and calm. About: Animals have held a special place in my heart since childhood. As a teenager, I volunteered at a shelter, walking dogs, cleaning their spaces, and simply being there for them when they needed it most. Those experiences taught me empathy, responsibility, and a deep understanding of dogs’ needs. For 17 years, I shared my life with a wonderful dog who was not just a pet, but my best friend and a true member of the family. Losing her was incredibly difficult, but it also reminded me how meaningful and powerful the bond between humans and animals can be. Today, together with my family, I share my home with our dog Sky, who fills our lives with love, joy, and warmth. She is my everyday companion and makes each day brighter. Two years ago, I had the beautiful experience of helping her bring eight puppies into the world. I cared for her and the puppies around the clock, ensuring they were safe, healthy, and loved. It was truly a special and unforgettable time, and I’m happy to say that all the puppies found caring homes—and we still keep in touch with their families. I truly love spending time with animals and enjoy long walks, especially at sunset. I treat every dog with the same care, attention, and affection as if they were my own.🫶 am currently not working, which means I have plenty of time to give your pets the attention, care, and playtime they deserve. I’m available throughout the day and can easily adapt to your pet’s routine. I also offer overnight stays 7 days a week, ensuring your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for at all times. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a large, secure garden where your pet can safely play, explore, and relax. They’ll also enjoy daily playtime with my dog, Sky, who is gentle, well-socialized, and very friendly with both people and other animals. She’s a wonderful companion and loves having new friends around. At the same time, I understand that some pets may need their own space, so my home offers a calm and comfortable environment where your pet can rest and unwind whenever they need.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Blaby commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
