“Bertie loved his time with Ewa, he had a lovely walk in the park, Ewa sent photos and messages throughout the day to keep us informed, will definitely recommend and get Bertie booked back in”

“Absolutely wonderful thank you Steven for looking after Chester today, it was such a hard day for me personally but knowing he was being looked after and cared for was a huge weight off my shoulders, thanks ☺️”

“Elizabeth and her lovely family looked after biscuit with great care and gave her heaps of attention, they treated her like their own dog and biscuit loved being around the two girls. I was updated with photos and little stories of what they got up to whilst I was away for work and they made us smile as she clearly looked entertained, was having zoomies and playing with the children and getting lots of cuddles and attention. It made us quite jealous :) My husband found the location easy for work to drop her off on the way and made life easier for him knowing she was cared for extremely well. We will be using Elizabeth and her family again! Thank you for what you did for Biscuit, she came home tired and slept all afternoon and hardly moved :)”

“Nigel and Karen are absolutely incredible! They made sure Onyx had the time of his life while we were off enjoying a festival. Every day was filled with long, adventurous walks, playful interactions with other furry friends, and most importantly, the loving care of two wonderful people who truly understood his quirks. I can’t praise them enough for their attentiveness and warmth! Without a doubt, I would choose Nigel and Karen every single time. They are genuinely kind souls who dedicate themselves to the joy of dogs. If you’re looking for a safe and loving environment for your fur baby, don’t hesitate to book them! You won’t regret it!”

“Our Cinnamon had a great time with you thanks so much. We were sent lots of pics and update so felt very comfortable knowing she was safe and well looked after. Cinnamon had lots of play and walks and is now tuckered out and happily napping away! Thanks very much Hayley :)”

“Ivana and her husband are so friendly and welcoming. Their home is beautiful with a gorgeous garden. Buddy enjoyed his visit today and is looking forward to future stop overs 🥰”

“Beth has been wonderful with my 6 year old staffy. Her house is a welcoming space for all dogs, no restrictions for them so they are comfortable throughout the day! I loved seeing the card at the end of the day with the details of how he has been, lots of photos and details of if he has had a walk, toilet breaks, water and food etc… I have never taken my dog to a doggy day care before so I was quite nervous to see how he would get on and Beth has kept me fully updated throughout the day keeping my mind at ease. Couldn’t recommend enough!”

“Storm has had a great time with Rafal and Maggie, who kept me updated, including photos, throughout the day, and even threw in a couple of lead walking training sessions! Storm has come home very happy, we will definitely be asking Rafal and Maggie and their daughter to look after Storm again, can’t thank them enough, and would recommend them to anyone. Thanks, Rafal and family, much appreciated 😀”

About: Hello! My name is Lauren and I am a very happy, easy going girl. I owned a little Pug/ Shih Tzu in the past named Gerty and she was the funniest little character, I ended up moving to Australia after Gerty for the past 7 years. In this time I have done plenty of house sits in Australia and now the UK since I got back a few months ago. I have great experience in looking after all kinds of animals but mainly cats and dogs. I have my pet sitting qualification and I am currently also doing cpr training. I chose to be a pet sitter/walker as it doesn't feel like a job to me. What a wonderful life to be surrounded by creatures that bring us so much joy and comfort and to be able to bring just as much joy and comfort back to them. Previously I was a live in carer for years before becoming a sitter, I treat everyone's homes and pets as I would my own, with love and respect. DVS checked and pet sitter qualified ✅ I have been doing pet sitting in Australia and now I am back living in the UK where I have my own pet care business. So because I am just starting out again here I have plenty of room to book pets, as I am available on all days. I am happy to do day visits, walking, feeding, overnights etc…I have my qualifications and just doing my first aid for pets. I will happily keep your pet company, walk them, feed them, bath them, keep them happy and entertained. I clean out cages, litter trays etc… anything you need me to do for your pets and house I am happy to do. I treat your pets and house as I would my own, with love and respect.

“We are so glad to find lovely Hannah. Before Harper’s stay, arranged meet and greet. She has kept updated us and look after our furry girl really well. Definitely will keep in contact with her in future! Thank you !”

“Carina was absolute brilliant with Artie, so flexible of his specific needs (he is very anxious and scared around other dogs) and helped to facilitate a really positive meeting between him and Mocha, who he now seems to be really relaxed around. She was really attentive and kept me well updated with photos (Artie particularly enjoyed the air-conditioning during the heatwave). Genuinely feel really lucky to have found someone so understanding and supportive of Artie's complications. Cannot thank her enough for making the whole experience so easy and making my first experience leaving Artie with a dog sitter such a positive one.”

About: Animals have always been at the very heart of my life. From the age of four, I grew up owning and riding horses, developing not only a love for them but also a deep understanding of their care and companionship. Collies have also been my loyal family pets for as long as I can remember, and they continue to play an important role in my adult life. Alongside my full-time job, I dedicate my time to working on a dairy farm, where I’m hands-on with livestock and experience the rewarding challenges of farm life. With formal qualifications in Animal Care and Management, I’ve combined my lifelong passion with professional knowledge, allowing me to provide the best care and understanding for every animal I meet. As I work from home 2 days a week I’m keen to open my home up to other four legged friends who would be happy with my 3 dogs. Drop ins that are local are welcome also. I currently own my own home and have a large enclosed garden which backs on to open fields complete with 5 ft fences so fully secure for all dogs.
About: With 5 years of dedicated pet care experience, I provide top-notch care for your pets, ensuring they’re happy, healthy, and loved. As a proud owner of a Labrador, a Greyhound, and two charming Poodles in Hong Kong, I’m passionate about spending quality time playing with and nurturing animals. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or personalized attention, I treat every pet like my own! I have a flexible schedule with plenty of time to care for and play with your pups. I’m available anytime for onboarding—just let me know what time works best for you! I provide a safe and nurturing environment for your pets. My home features a secure, fenced garden where your pups can play freely and safely. I ensure constant supervision during playtime to keep them happy and secure.
“Shivani and Shanti were lovely looking after our dog Arlo for couple of hours. Super helpful with sending updates and pictures and were very friendly and accommodating. If we are ever in the area again would definitely leave our pup in their care. Thank you so much for everything! :)”

“Many thanks to Charlotte for looking after Archie and Ralph so well yesterday. They came back very chilled out and clearly well looked after during the day. We will have no hesitation in asking Charlotte to look after them again.”

“Really happy with Ralph’s first daycare with Laura and family. He was very happy and calm when we picked him up and Laura documented his stay very well (love the photos!). Ralph seems to be very relaxed around Laura and her dog Zola and in particular gravitates towards their daughter a lot! We look forward to Ralph’s future visits”

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
