“Emily has been absolutely amazing! She has been providing regular updates and photos keeping me at ease that my boy is well looked after whilst I'm away. Thank you again and will be definetely returning when needed again 😊”

“This is my first experience of this service. I contacted Maisie to care for my two cats. She responded promptly to my message and was spot on time for the introductory visit. Maisie asked relevant questions about the boys care and explained that I would receive photos and a message after the visit. I was happy with the care provided and would book Maisie again.”

About: I have had cats since I was 5 years old and dogs for 3 years. I have handled everything from feeding and cleaning to birth and feeding newborns every two hours. I even have experience nursing a cat with congenital heart failure. I have a trained Afghan hound who can be off leash, so I am no stranger to stubborn active “untrainable” dogs. I am currently free with no commitments and so if needed can take on same day booking for walking and check ins. I will always update my availability. I will always follow the instructions and requirements given by owners. I understand the level of trust placed by owners to anyone they entrust the care of their beloved pet or their home environment and therefore understand that communication is vital. I will always give a report about the walk / check in and will update owners on any injury or out of the ordinary behaviour. My vast experience permits me to recognise canine and feline body language paying attention to the small details.
“Sapphire looked after our cat for 4 days whilst we were away, it’s the first time we’ve used a cat sitter and we were a bit nervous but as soon as Sapphire got to ours, our minds were put at ease 😊 She sent us lots of great pictures and kept in touch throughout the 4 days and even made sure our plants were watered before she left! 100% recommend Sapphire, I wouldn’t hesitate to ask her to look after our cat any time. She’s absolutely brilliant and we can’t thank her enough for being so great! Thanks Sapphire! Xx”

About: I’ve had around 13 years of experience caring for pets and have always been passionate about animals. Friends, neighbours and family regularly rely on me to look after their dogs, feeding, playtime and general care. I’m patient, reliable and always make sure pets feel comfortable, safe and well looked after. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine and I have a flexible schedule which allows me to give pets the time and attention they need. I’m available feeding, playtime and check-ins throughout the day, and I always make sure pets stick to their usual routine so they feel comfortable and relaxed. I always make sure pets are safe, comfortable and well looked after at all times. I carefully follow any instructions given by the owner regarding feeding, exercise and routines. I’m very attentive to pets’ behaviour and needs, and I always make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime and care while their owners are away.
“This was the first time Inga had looked after my dog, communications prior to arriving were faultless and Inga asked all the relevant questions. Inga arrived on time and was calm and patient with my nervous dog, Inga sat with my dog while I left for a two hour appointment. Inga was gentle and kind with my dog which suffers from separation anxiety, Inga kept me informed while I was away and I was confident that my dog was being well cared for. I would use Inga again for dog sitting and would recommend.”
About: I have always cared for pets at my home from dogs to cats, stick insects to gerbils, you name it! And my passion for animal care led me to completing my BSc Animal Science (Pet Behaviour and Welfare) degree at university for four years. I have the practical and theory skills to handle all kinds of pet care, including veterinary work and husbandry experience. My pet behaviour pathway at university gave me the opportunity to work for a pet behaviour clinic for a year specialising in dog behaviour and training, so I know the patience and love required to care for and train the most anxious pets. It can take time to build trust and my policy is always to do so with a gentle hand and maybe a treat or two! I'm currently working part time so have a flexible schedule for your pets' care including weekend stays, day visits, walks, feeding and more. I’m happy to stay for longer/ overnight visits so you don’t have to worry for your pets while you’re on holiday. I'm very happy to take instructions from you on what care you believe your pets require or anything you wish to request of me during my time with them. Whether this means using crates or not, treats, outdoor time...etc.
About: I have experience with dogs through my business Dig&Dog, by helping out family and friends, and through voluntary work abroad. I have taken care of lots of different breeds, sizes and ages and therefore can cater to any needs! I have my own business offering a variety of pet services including house sitting, dog walking & drop in visits. I often house sit overnight and work in the garden in the day, but often have availability for dog walks/drop-ins, especially in the autumn/winter. I have grown up with two cats and surrounded by the dogs and cats of family/friends, meaning I am very comfortable pet sitting and have lots of experience, which creates a relaxed atmosphere for pets to feel safe and most importantly happy!
“I can say with upmost confidence, Aleksandra is probably one of the best sitters on here. we booked super last minute and we didn’t get much time to talk about the specifics of the care for our cats as they can be a handful at times and require things to be done a certain way. Despite this she was just a natural around my shy cat, she was very professional and I trusted her completely to drop in and to make sure our cats were happy and healthy. I can tell she really cares and has a passion for working with animals. We will always book with Aleksandra indefinitely until she is either busy or stops pet sitting. Thank you Aleksandra 🫶”

About: I have been around animals all my life and was lucky enough to grow up with dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and hamsters- to name a few. I am a very loving, relaxed and laidback pet owner and love being around animals. I happily share my sofa and bed with my pets, so if that is something your dog would like, they would feel right at home when staying with me. My dog Oscar is a friendly and playful British bulldog and I also have 2 x 10 year old cats so any dog visiting would have friends to play with. I also have experience looking after puppies as well as older dogs. I work 4 long day a week but am free over the weekends to look after your dog. I generally walk Oscar once a day for an hour but sometimes he gets an additional half hour walk as well so can easily offer this for your dog. I have a large enclosed garden and space in the house to keep any dog separate from Oscar at nighttime if needed. There is also space for a crate if you prefer your dog to sleep in a crate.
About: My safe and loving place is open to any and all dogs and/or cats etc. I currently just moved to Leicester but unfortunately had to leave my family dog at home in San Francisco. I’m a pro soccer player. I live in an apartment with 2 decks and parks not far away. Happy to work with you on your dogs needs to make sure they have a happy, safe, and healthy stay with me. Or I am available to come to you and provide whatever care you need (overnight care etc). I am flexible. I’ve had plenty of experience caring for other dogs, as I’ve helped many families currently and in the past with their needs. I look forward to hearing from you! I am currently training for a few hours during the day but other than that, my schedule is pretty open and we can discuss what you need. I just want your dog to feel comfortable in my apartment. I feel like that's the most important thing, so any advice you can give me would be helpful, so that your dog or cat feels at ease

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Oadby
Gemisia was excellent - sent little videos every day so we knew Mog was content. Mog has a thyroid issue and Gemisia has experience of this with one of her own cats so we were confident that meds would be dealt with correctly. One of the side effects of the condition is that a cat's fur can go a bit clumpy, especially given that our cat is not grooming as thoroughly as she did in her younger years. Gemisia used a gentle dry foam bath on Mog's fur which is looking so much better. Thanks for everything, Gemisia.

Christina has been absolutely wonderful! ❤️ We came home to three very happy, healthy cats and a house completely in order. The photos and updates she sent us every day were so reassuring — and from the photos, it’s VERY clear the cats absolutely adore her! 😂❤️ We genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better service. Knowing they were so happy and well cared for meant we could properly relax and enjoy our holiday. Would recommend Christina in a heartbeat, and we’re already looking forward to booking her again next week! ❤️🐾

This was Ruby's second meeting with our dog Elsie after an initial meet and greet a month ago. Elsie is nervous of strangers and a little reactive. Ruby was calm and happy to go at Elsie’s pace and the pair of them went on a successful walk together ending the time with a tummy rub! Hoping to rebook Ruby to build on this relationship. Thank you Ruby!

Fazila was absolutely wonderful! She took great care of our cat Legolas while we were away. Her updates and photos every day made us feel completely at ease. Legolas looked happy, relaxed, and well loved. We’d definitely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oadby choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
