“Kev is so good with my little pupper Hector! He is super communicative pre during and post booking and I would highly recommend booking him! He’s super trust worth and a lovely guy x”

About: I have a dog of my own and would love to care for yours as is it best to have someone who actually cares! Iv had previous experiences with dogs, as ive joined some volunteer rescue walks some years ago. I easily adjust to animals and can assess their needs, as well is give them lots of love and care. My dog is a senior so i have some experience with giving oral medication and ear drops. Im also very good with energetic dogs and can provide engaging activities at many points of the day such as exercise. Currently, i am on summer holiday, so i have plenty of time for short notice bookings. Im heading off to uni in September, and looking for more opportunities along the way! I take my dog on daily walks, as well as providing him with medication as he’s a senior. like eardrops teeth care and various spa treatments. His food is perfectly portioned with nutrients and a balanced diet.
“James was responsive to messages and was able to accommodate us at short notice. He completed a meet and greet ahead of our visit times for our 9 week old puppy, and I felt instantly assured. He sent us pictures from the visits, and everything went smoothly. It really took the stress out of us leaving Darla for the first time. We have since rebooked James for ongoing visits. Thanks again :-)”

About: I have had many different specs of animals through my walks of life. I pride myself in caring for them to my best abilities. Your pet will be well cared for! I work from home so have a lot of time for caring, from the moment I wake up I love being around animals. Their routines fit well into my daily life. I will provide daily updates, pictures and videos. Also full run down after the stay/walk. I currently do not have a garden but have a small front outside area that I can offer short supervised outside exploration multiple times days. I sit for my families cats and they prefer in a new environment the cats remain inside, for safety, apart from a sniff round the front area. Inside they have roam of the house apart from my bedroom in which I have my pets. I can offer a lot of safe indoor play/activities or none at all- whatever your pet prefers! For walking- I live near a big woodland park to provide long walks.
About: I am currently completing my degree apprenticeship in nursing with the NHS while attending university. After four years as a dental nurse, I decided to pursue a new challenge. I am fully DBS/CRB cleared. I was raised on a family farm, where caring for animals became second nature to me. Over the years, I have enjoyed owning and caring for a variety of pets, including cats, dogs, hamsters, sheep, goats, pigs, and rabbits. I have also extended my care to the pets of family and neighbors on numerous occasions. In addition, I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Animal Management and Science, which has provided me with extensive experience in caring for animals of all shapes and sizes. Whilst completing my nursing apprenticeship I have a flexible schedule. I can provide pet care during the day, evenings and nights as required when I am available. I'm happy to schedule walks, toilet breaks, feeding visits, weekend stays, long vacation stays, or just spend some quality time with your pets! I will provide care for your dog tailored to their individual needs and your preferences, aligning with the way you typically care for them. Recognizing that every dog is unique, I prioritise understanding their specific requirements. My commitment is to ensure your pet's happiness and fulfillment by dedicating quality time and showering them with love and attention.

About: I’ve always loved being around animals and caring for pets has been a big part of my life for many years. Over the past few years, I’ve gained hands on experience pet sitting for families while they travel, including longer stays where I’m fully responsible for daily routines, feeding, walks, playtime and general wellbeing. I’ve looked after a variety of pets with different personalities and needs — from confident, energetic animals to more nervous or independent ones. I’m patient, calm and attentive, and I always take the time to understand each pet’s routine so they feel safe and settled in my care. I treat every pet as if they were my own and make sure owners feel completely at ease while they’re away, with regular updates and photos if requested. At the moment, I have a very flexible schedule, which means I’m able to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pet care. While I’m currently looking for a more permanent role in animal care, pet sitting fits perfectly into my daily routine and allows me to focus fully on looking after pets. I’m available throughout the day for feeding, walks, playtime, companionship and check ins, and I can easily adapt my schedule to suit each pet’s needs and routine. I always aim to provide a calm, safe and loving environment where pets feel comfortable and well cared for. Whether I’m caring for pets in my own home or in an owner’s home, I make sure routines are followed closely and that each pet’s individual needs and boundaries are respected. In my home, pets have a secure, relaxed space with access to a large garden for fresh air and play (always supervised and in line with owner instructions). I also live very close to a variety of walking routes, which means I can tailor walks to suit different energy levels - from short, gentle strolls to longer, more active walks. I have a friendly cat at home who spends much of their time outdoors or visiting a neighbour, so I’m mindful of introductions and always prioritise safety and comfort. I would only care for pets in my home if they are happy around cats and if owners are fully comfortable with the setup. When caring for pets in an owner’s home, I treat the space with complete respect and make sure pets feel secure in their familiar environment. I keep owners updated with regular messages and photos for peace of mind.
“Absolutely fabulous. Communication before / during and after was amazing. Very informative and put me at ease. As the first time I was using Rover. About: I’ve grown up around Labradors and horses, so I’m very comfortable with active, outdoor-loving animals and understanding different temperaments, energy levels, and routines. At home, I have two dachshunds and one cat, so I’m very used to managing a multi-pet household and the balance that comes with different personalities, feeding routines, and individual needs. Having dachshunds has given me plenty of experience with more sensitive, quirky, and sometimes needy dogs, so I’m confident in providing calm, patient care and adapting to each dog as an individual rather than a “one size fits all” approach. I also have experience supporting puppies with structure and consistency, as well as senior dogs who need a slower pace, extra reassurance, and careful attention to comfort and routine. Above all, I focus on creating a calm, familiar environment so pets feel settled, safe, and understood while their owners are away. I work from home online, which gives me a flexible daily routine and allows me to plan my schedule around the pets in my care. This means I am able to provide regular walks, toilet breaks, feeding, and companionship throughout the day, rather than leaving pets alone for long periods. I build my day around the needs of each booking, so care is consistent, calm, and tailored to each pet’s usual routine. I care for each pet as an individual and always follow their normal routine as closely as possible to ensure they feel safe, settled, and comfortable while their owners are away. Before any booking, I will always ask detailed questions about your pet’s routine, behaviour, preferences, and any specific needs so I can provide consistent care that mirrors what they are used to at home. I also arrange a meet and greet with all new clients and their pets beforehand, so everyone can feel comfortable and confident before the stay or visit begins. Whether in your home or mine, I prioritise calm, respectful care and always follow owner instructions closely to maintain safety, trust, and routine.
About: I have over 15 years of personal experience caring for my own dogs, alongside 3 years of professional experience running my own freelance dog walking and house sitting business. My professional experience started by looking after the dogs and homes of family friends and naturally grew through word of mouth, eventually building up to around 10 regular clients. I ran the business alongside working full time, providing dog walks and house sitting in my spare time. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs of all ages, breeds, shapes and sizes, and I’m confident adapting to each dog’s individual personality, routine and needs. I also have experience caring for dogs requiring additional support. My own dog recovered from back surgery, and I provided her medication and physiotherapy throughout her recovery, giving me valuable hands on experience with rehabilitation and dogs needing extra patience and care. I’m now focusing on dog walking and pet care full time, meaning I have excellent availability and can dedicate my time to providing the best possible care for your pets. I’m also able to offer pet sitting at my home, where I live on a 500 acre estate with lots of beautiful fields and countryside surrounding the house, making it an excellent area for dog walking and exploring. I have a friendly Cocker Spaniel of my own who loves meeting new dogs and making new friends. Whether your dog needs an energetic walk, a gentle stroll, daytime care, overnight sitting or a home from home stay, I’ll provide reliable, attentive and loving care. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your beloved pet, and I’ll treat every dog in my care as if they were my own. Pet care is now my main focus, so I have excellent availability throughout the week. I’m able to fit walks, drop-in visits and house sitting around each dog’s individual routine and needs. I also offer pet sitting at my home, where I have plenty of space and countryside to enjoy. I’m flexible with timings and can give your dog the time, attention and care they need. I tailor my care to each pet’s individual routine, personality and needs. In an owner’s home, I keep to their usual routine as closely as possible, including walks, feeding, playtime, medication and plenty of company. When pets stay in my home, I provide a calm, comfortable and friendly environment. I live on a 500 acre estate with lots of surrounding fields and countryside, giving dogs plenty of opportunities for walks and exercise. I also have a friendly Cocker Spaniel who loves meeting new dogs. Most importantly, I make sure every pet feels safe, settled and well cared for while they’re with me.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Corby
We have a shy and timid rescue dog, so finding the right person to care for her is incredibly important to us. James has truly been wonderful—he managed to gently bring her out of her shell. It was clear he was patient, understanding, and genuinely cared about making her feel safe and comfortable. While we were away, James took excellent care of her and kept us reassured throughout. He showed up on time, followed all our instructions, and made sure she had everything she needed. It gave us real peace of mind knowing she was in such capable hands. We especially appreciated his calm approach and the way he built trust with her so naturally. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend James to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate dogsitter.

This is our third time approaching Angel to take care of Bean. She is very meticulous and gives us incredibly detailed reports each day. This puts us at ease and gives us a glimpse of how our lil guy is getting on without us. She went out of her way on this occasion to care for Bean on all the days we were away - And we truly appreciate it! We will definitely approach her again the next time we travel.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
