“Leaving Bailey with Romina and her father was brilliant. She went on loads of walks through the day and I got back a happy, well exercised pup. Will definitely be asking her for help whenever I can't take Bailey with me.”

“Patricia was amazing with Winnie & Junie! She kindly accepted our very last-minute request, and we couldn’t be more grateful. We received lots of photo updates of the girls out on walks, playing in the garden, and getting cuddles. We’re always quite anxious when our girls go somewhere new, but Patricia completely put our minds at ease. Thank you so much again!”

“Wilbur was looked after perfectly. Wilbur can be an anxious dog with a change in circumstances but has come home happy and relaxed thanks to a lovely stay :) During his stay we received some lovely photos, showing him asleep cosy on the sofa and out for a walk which definitely set my mind at rest :) Thank you Jenny.”

“My apologies first as this review is long overdue. I was in need of daycare service at short notice and thankfully Katie came to my rescue. Communications before and during Xylah’s stay at Katie’s was amazing and prompt. Katie was very welcoming to myself and Xylah and she kindly sent me pictures during the course of the day so I knew how Xylah was doing and that she was in good hands. Xylah had so much fun at Katie’s and with Katie’s dog. She was literally wiped out when we got home and slept like a baby through the night. Thank you Katie for taking such good care of Xylah and we shall definitely be reusing your services.”

“Jen looked after Bruce for a day as a trial run for a longer stay coming up. It was his first time away from us and Jen was so understanding and reassuring it really put us at ease. Even though it was only a day, Jen kept us updated with messages and pictures. Would definitely recommend.”

“Daisy had a wonderful time with Sara and her lovely King Charles spaniel Milo. This was Daisy’s first time away from us and when we went to collect her she didn’t want to leave. Sara took excellent care of Daisy and created a lovely calming, homely environment. I highly recommend Sara and we will definitely be using her services again.”

“What can I say - the fact we immediately booked Anna again for the following week speaks volumes. Our pup absolutely adores her, and she takes so much time out of her day to make sure every need is catered for - regular walks, play, cuddles etc as required. We receive regular updates about his day, which is very reassuring for us! Our pup also keeps wanting to walk to hers just to see her. I can't think of a better compliment for the care she offers. We will certainly be booking with Anna again!”

“I was very worried about leaving my boy Harley with someone I didn't know but we had a weeding to attend. We came across this site and Lauren. Lauren was amazing she took the time to explain how this site works and how she would look after Harley. Lauren cared for Harley very well and came back from doggy day care completely shattered which is not easy as he is a lakeland terrier and the batteries never end ? If you are looking for someone who really cares for your dog Lauren is highly recommended by me. Thank you so much Lauren ❤️”

Thank you, Sophie and Luca, for looking after Max today. Communication was super easy, and we received updates throughout the day. Max came back home very happy and relaxed, which reassured us that he had a great day. We are so happy to have found a dog sitter nearby! Thank you. 😊

Jay was absolutely fantastic from start to finish! My dog Charlie had a lovely day care and was well looked after by Jay and his family. He had a fantastic time playing with buddy. I highly recommend Jay to anyone wanting a top notch service and peace of mind knowing your furry friend will be well looked after and cared for!

Jenny was brilliant for looking after Luna while I was at work. She looked out for her in the heat and made sure she had places to cool down as well as time to play. I got lots of updates with beautiful photos of Luna and her dog having fun together. Shame we don't live closer to come again!

Sharon was great with our cockapoo Maisy! Our dog came back tired, but very very happy, she didn't want to leave. Sharon met all her needs and went above and beyond cooking her chicken when she had refused her food in the morning. We would highly recommend Sharon and will be using her again in the future!
Tessa has never been left with anyone before but it was an absolute pleasure to leave her with Vasylisa. Thank you so much for my videos and photos. Would highly recommend using this lovely lady. If I could leave more than a 5 star review I would. Thank you so so much.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
