About: I'm doing this for one simple reason: I genuinely, deeply love being around furry friends! Cats have always had my heart. I have my own sweet Indie cat back home in India named Nanni, which translates to little one, who I miss terribly every day. But when my girlfriend brought her two Golden Retrievers into my life, they completely won me over and showed me just how incredible dogs are, too. Now I'm totally hooked on both! I know your furry kids aren't just pets, they're family. Whether it's going for long tail-wagging walks, playing around, or just sitting together so they don't feel lonely while you're away, I'll treat them with the exact same warmth, patience, and affection I give my own. Your furry kids will always be safe, loved, and spoiled with attention with me. Because I work part-time, my schedule gives me plenty of flexibility to give your furry friends all the attention they need! I'm completely free every day from early morning until 4 PM, which is perfect for morning walks, breakfast drop-ins, or mid-day play sessions. I also have full days off each week, so I can offer dedicated, full-day care and spend extended quality time keeping your furry kids safe, happy, and cozy while you're away. Safety and trust mean the world to me. Whether I'm caring for your furry kids in your home or out on walks, I treat your routine with complete respect. I double-check doors, gates, and leashes to keep them totally secure, strictly follow your feeding and care instructions, and make sure they feel calm, loved, and completely safe every second I'm with them!

Fantastic cat sitter! My cats tend to be really nervous around new people but when Nicola first visited they both came up to her and not ran away. She was great at following the specific feeding instructions and gave great updates each feeding sessions. I would absolutely use Nicola again in the future.

About: I’ve always been a dog lover and over the past 4 years I have been the main responsible carer for Parker (4 year old) and Walter (3 year old) both Italian Greyhounds. Parker and Walter now live up north near Newcastle, they visit often and I miss the company very much! I’m a bit of a naughty sitter, as I do let them onto the sofa and best of all allow them in bed for snuggles at night… not ideal when you wake up at 3am and they are both taking up all the room and you’re literally lying horizontal with your legs hanging out 🙈… not to mention the 5am wake up call for wanting to go pee, ha! I am a full time worker in the public sector. I am home and office based which is very flexible. I drive, so have no issues with getting from A to B. I am on a 5th floor apartment. There is a fenced off private grassed courtyard within my apartment complex and a park across the road. I enjoy going for walks along the canals here in Birmimgham and previously taking the boys to Cannon Hill Park. Be assured that your pooch will be fed and watered and respect would be issued to those who may not allow their pooches to jump onto furniture etc or who have routine with their dogs sleeping in a crate etc. I would follow your instructions to the letter, I promise you that. If you have any questions or wish to clarify any information noted on the profile, please get in touch before moving onto the next potential sitter. Thank you

About: I’ve been around dogs all my life and have always felt very comfortable caring for them. I grew up with a Chow Chow, and dogs have been a big part of my wider family life too. Over the past year, I’ve also gained extensive hands-on experience through BorrowMyDoggy, where I developed a lovely long-term relationship with one particular dog. I regularly looked after her for full days twice a week while her owners were at work, took her on long walks, and cared for her overnight for stays of up to three days. This gave me experience not just with walking, but with getting to know a dog’s individual personality and routine, providing attentive care throughout the day, and building a relationship based on trust. I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs and am comfortable building a relationship with them over time, rather than seeing dog walking simply as a job. I’m calm, attentive and responsible, and I really enjoy being outdoors and giving dogs the exercise, companionship and care they need. I’m currently in a career transition, with my time split between occasional yoga teaching and independent work and study. This means I generally spend a lot of time at home and have good flexibility during the week. From January, I’ll be starting a master’s degree in physiotherapy. The beginning of the week will be more structured with lectures and practical sessions, while the rest of my week will involve a significant amount of independent study, so I’ll continue to have flexibility for dog walking and care around my timetable. I particularly enjoy having dogs as part of my day — getting outside for walks gives me a lovely break from working or studying at home. I’m happy to work around a dog’s usual routine and can discuss regular or occasional care depending on my availability. I like to give dogs a calm, homely experience and adapt to their individual personality and routine. From my experience caring for a dog through BorrowMyDoggy, I’ve found that a good balance of exercise, play, food, companionship and plenty of time to relax works really well. We would usually start with a good walk, followed by food and some playtime, and then settle into a quieter part of the day. I work and study from home quite a lot, so I’m very happy to have a dog keeping me company while they relax — whether that’s sleeping beside me while I work, having a cuddle, or simply settling somewhere comfortable nearby. I also have a terrace which the dog I currently care for uses for toilet breaks, which is particularly convenient in the city-centre setting. Of course, this would be in addition to regular walks and outdoor exercise, rather than replacing them. Most importantly, I take the time to understand each dog’s individual needs and routine, and I want them to feel safe, comfortable and cared for while they’re with me.

About: I've been looking after my friends' dogs since 2021 whenever they're away on holiday or travelling for work. Over the years, I've learned how to take care of dogs. I'm a patient, responsible, and caring person who genuinely loves spending time with dogs. Whether it's going for walks, playing, sticking to their usual routine, or simply giving them plenty of attention and cuddles, I always aim to provide the same level of care that I would want for my own. I am currently finishing up my PhD, so I have a very flexible schedule since I don't have a traditional 9-5 office job. This allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets I care for. I enjoy spending time with animals. I always care for each pet according to their individual routine and the owner's instructions. I understand that every pet has different needs, so I take the time to learn about their feeding schedule, exercise routine, favourite activities, and any special requirements. Whether I'm caring for your pet in my home or yours, I'll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I'll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you can have peace of mind while you're away.

About: I have spent my life surrounded by animals, and I cannot imagine it any other way. Over the years I have cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, parrots, turtles, fish, sheep, and many others. Each one has taught me something new, and that range of experience has made me a calm, observant, and adaptable carer. I have a particular soft spot for dogs. I see them as gentle, loyal little companions who give so much love so freely, and I believe they deserve to be cared for with patience, respect, and genuine attention. Because animals cannot use words, I pay close attention to their behaviour, body language, habits, and small changes in mood. To me, this is how real trust is built. A formative experience for me was caring for a rescue Corgi who had a limb amputation. Over two years with her, I came to understand how much consistency, gentle handling, and emotional reassurance can mean to an animal who has been through difficulty. I never consider myself an expert, because every animal continues to teach me more. I currently share my home with two cats, and I have experience with small and exotic pets, including a wonderfully long-lived hamster. I am comfortable following detailed feeding routines, keeping food and litter areas clean, giving medication when needed, and sending regular photo updates so you can feel reassured while you are away. What matters most to me is simple: your pet should feel safe, loved, and understood. I have a flexible schedule and can adapt to your pet’s routine. I’m available for both short-term and long-term care—feel free to get in touch anytime. I maintain a calm, clean environment, follow routines carefully, monitor behavior, and provide updates. In owners’ homes, I respect their space and pets’ familiar habits.

I’m an architect and currently building my own small business, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pet the attention they need. I’m happy to stick to their usual routine and make sure they feel comfortable and relaxed. I’m currently self-employed, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to spend quality time with your pet. I’m happy to work around their usual routine whenever possible. I’m comfortable giving them lots of love, keeping their space clean, and understanding their unique little personalities. I’m always willing to learn more about different types of pets and their specific care needs. exploring my next steps in the animal care field. I’ve always had a deep love for animals, and I’m now looking to build more hands on experience while figuring out where I want to go long-term, I’m currently available full time and pretty flexible so whether it’s short notice, overnight stays, or longer term house sits, I’ve got the time and commitment to make sure your pets and home are well looked after. I can’t thank Chapa enough for all her love, care, and patience with our little girl. She is an extremely polite, kind, and friendly sitter who provided our cat with what she needed most – plenty of attention and playtime. Being a cat sitter myself, I have very high standards when it comes to pet care, and I wanted to find someone who really cares, not only in words but also through their actions. Someone who understands the issues and challenges that can come with rescue cats, and Chapa was perfect for that, as she also owns two beautiful rescue cats herself. I don’t think I will ever want to book anyone else for our Gabrielle 🥰❤️

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
