About: I’ve had dogs all my life and currently have my own dachshund, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your dog. I’m comfortable caring for dogs with different personalities, routines and needs, and I’m patient, attentive and caring. I’ll make sure your dog gets plenty of attention, walks, playtime and cuddles while you’re away, and I’ll always treat them like my own. I work from home Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5pm, so I’m around throughout the day. I can provide regular attention, toilet breaks and company, with walks before or after work and plenty of time for longer walks and play in the evenings and at weekends. I understand how important it is to feel confident leaving your dog with someone you trust. I have had dogs all my life and will provide a calm, safe and caring environment. As I work from home, your dog will have plenty of company and attention throughout the day.

About: Hi! I'm an undergrad student at UoB, looking to provide love and care to your furry family members. I've grown up with multiple cats as well as dogs. I love them like family and will give your pets that exact same love. I understand each pet has their own personality and needs, and therefore I want to take the time to learn that and work around the cat and their preferences. I currently am self employed so I'm able to be fully flexible to you and your pets needs! Avaliable all hours, night or day, and all days of the week including weekends. I understand each animal is different, so I'll take the time to understand what you are comfortable with and your individual pets needs. I will always spend ample time not just doing the necessities, but going above and beyond to keep them feeling happy and loved.

Ben has been taking Rosie out on a regular basis since we moved to the area last year. He makes sure she gets some enrichment without overdoing it in her old age. Fed and watered when necessary. She always seems to have enjoyed her time out with him.

About: I have spent my life surrounded by animals, and I cannot imagine it any other way. Over the years I have cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, parrots, turtles, fish, sheep, and many others. Each one has taught me something new, and that range of experience has made me a calm, observant, and adaptable carer. I have a particular soft spot for dogs. I see them as gentle, loyal little companions who give so much love so freely, and I believe they deserve to be cared for with patience, respect, and genuine attention. Because animals cannot use words, I pay close attention to their behaviour, body language, habits, and small changes in mood. To me, this is how real trust is built. A formative experience for me was caring for a rescue Corgi who had a limb amputation. Over two years with her, I came to understand how much consistency, gentle handling, and emotional reassurance can mean to an animal who has been through difficulty. I never consider myself an expert, because every animal continues to teach me more. I currently share my home with two cats, and I have experience with small and exotic pets, including a wonderfully long-lived hamster. I am comfortable following detailed feeding routines, keeping food and litter areas clean, giving medication when needed, and sending regular photo updates so you can feel reassured while you are away. What matters most to me is simple: your pet should feel safe, loved, and understood. I have a flexible schedule and can adapt to your pet’s routine. I’m available for both short-term and long-term care—feel free to get in touch anytime. I maintain a calm, clean environment, follow routines carefully, monitor behavior, and provide updates. In owners’ homes, I respect their space and pets’ familiar habits.

We were absolutely delighted with Samiksha’s dog-sitting service. She was incredibly kind and went out of her way to come and meet us at the hotel where we were staying on holiday, while we attended a concert on Friday evening. She was punctual, flexible and absolutely lovely with our dog. She took Salty for a walk, kept him company and looked after him beautifully throughout the evening. She was also very respectful and careful with him in the hotel, both in the lounge and in our room. We felt completely reassured knowing he was in such caring and capable hands. We would definitely recommend Samiksha and would happily ask her to look after our dog again. Thank you so much! 🐾❤️

About: Growing up I’ve had the chance to care for all kinds of pets, including dogs, cats, hamsters and rabbits, and I’ve always loved having animals around. My dog back home (the one in my profile!) is now 15 years old, and I’ve cared for him throughout his life, as well as my cat, Maya, who is also back home in Greece. I’ve also looked after pets for friends and family on countless occasions. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and getting to know their different personalities. I’d love the opportunity to look after some more pets here in Birmingham and make sure they feel happy, comfortable and well cared for while you’re away. I live with my fiancee who also really loves pets and we have a nice park around the corner - St Pauls Square, Jewellery Quarter. I primarily work from home so have ample time and flexibility to take care of and spend time with your pets! I am confident with leashes and harnesses during walks, whatever is preferred. I have a nice and spacious flat with my fiancee who also really loves pets and we conveniently live right next to a park (St Paul’s Square in Jewellery Quarter) and have a lot of free time so I can take your pet out as frequently as needed. Happy to send photos throughout our time together :)

About: Hi! I’m a young professional living with my boyfriend in a spacious ground-floor one-bedroom apartment in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. We are both huge animal lovers and grew up with dogs and cats, so we’re very comfortable caring for pets and understand the attention, exercise, and affection they need. I work from home one day a week and am available to look after dogs on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. We love spending time outdoors and would ensure your dog gets plenty of walks, playtime, and attention throughout their stay. I am available for check ins/ dog walking lunchtimes in the Edgbaston area. We have a car, which means we can also take dogs out to the countryside for longer walks and adventures. Whether your dog is energetic and loves exploring or prefers a more relaxed pace, we’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. We’re genuine dog lovers and would treat your pet as if they were our We would love to look after dogs from Thursday through to Sunday. I work from home on Fridays, which means I can provide plenty of company throughout the day and take dogs out for lunchtime walks as well as morning and evening exercise. We’re very relaxed when it comes to pets and are happy for dogs to be on the sofa and feel at home with us. Our day usually starts around 7am on work-from-home days and around 8–9am at weekends, so we’re well suited to dogs that enjoy an early start as well as those who prefer a slower morning. We’re happy to tailor activities to your dog’s needs, whether that’s long countryside walks, shorter local walks, trips to the park, or simply relaxing at home. If your dog is sociable and enjoys being out and about, we’d be happy to take them to dog-friendly pubs or restaurants. Equally, if they’re more of a homebody, we’re more than happy to spend cosy evenings on the sofa with plenty of attention and cuddles. We live in a spacious one-bedroom ground-floor apartment in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, with easy access to several local parks and walking routes. We enjoy getting outdoors and regularly go on walks around the local area, and we also have a car, which means we’re able to take dogs on longer walks to larger parks or out into the countryside if they enjoy exploring further afield. We’re very flexible and like to tailor our routine to each dog’s personality and needs. Whether your dog prefers a quick stroll around the block, a trip to the park, or a longer adventure, we’re happy to play it by ear and do what makes them happiest. We’re very laid-back pet lover and want dogs to feel completely at home with us. We’re happy for dogs to be on the sofa and, if permitted by their owners, on the bed too. The apartment has hard flooring throughout, making it practical, easy to keep clean, and comfortable for dogs.

About: I have looked after my mums family pet during my time at home and have recently helped look after her current shar pei. When I lived in Worcester, I have taken my managers dog daschund for walks and taken care of them while she was at work. I've also had many repeat owners use me for dog sitting aswell as drop ins - please see my reviews I have 2 days off a week and every evening so I am looking forward to making some furry friends and keeping active :) thanks I will check all instructions left by the owner on how to care for their pet such as their routine so it's not changed even though they aren't there. This will be tailored to each pet. If it's walks then I'll ask about their favourite places to go and how to walk them. As in not near other dogs or are they allowed off the lead etc

Review We used Rachel for the first time while we were away on holiday for a week, and I honestly couldn’t have been happier with the service she provided. As we’d never used a dog walker before, I was a little nervous about leaving our one-year-old Golden Retriever, Gary, but Rachel was fantastic from the very beginning. I contacted her quite last minute, and she was incredibly responsive and arranged to meet us beforehand, which immediately put my mind at ease. Throughout the week, Rachel kept me updated, sent photos from the walks and was always accessible. Gary absolutely loved his walks and it was so lovely knowing he was getting plenty of stimulation and attention while we were away. Rachel also kindly let our other dog out into the garden. He’s much more shy and anxious, so I really appreciated her taking the time to accommodate both of their different personalities and needs. I’m genuinely so pleased with the care Rachel gave them. She was reliable, thoughtful and clearly really cares about the dogs she looks after. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her and will definitely be using her again. Thank you so much, Rachel! ☺️

You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for last-minute bookings for Dog Walking. With 2,241 Walkers in Birmingham, 46% respond to messages in under 5 minutes.

Many sitters keep their calendars updated in real time and you can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care in the next 24 hours, you can look for sitters with a 'calendar last updated' notice on their profiles.
