“I can honestly say Scarlett did such a brilliant job of taking care of our miniature dachshund Ivy. Ivy can be a little bit wary of the world and we left her for the first time with Scarlett over the weekend. Admittedly, we were a little nervous but we had absolutely no reason to be! Ivy has come home a happy little pooch who clearly enjoyed herself very much. We received plenty of photos and updates while we were away, and we will be using Scarlett again moving forward as she really put our mind at ease whilst away. Thank you so much!”

“Fantastic lady with a lovely family that treated Ruby like part of the family I got regular updates that really put my mind at rest as this was our first time using this service I would have no such worry at booking Katie again she’s amazing and Ruby loved her ❤️🐶”

“Tracey has gone above and beyond with Tulia she's absolutely brilliant she's sent regular updates she's took her on lovely walks in the woods she's treated Tulia with so much love and care I will definitely recommend Tracey to be your choice I can assure you will be more than happy knowing your dogs in a loving home and safe and kind environment”

“Ana was brilliant with our nervy puppy, Lola, and was able to accommodate us at short notice! She was happy to have a couple of meet & greets with us so Lola could get used to her, it was her first time being away from all of our family. I think she dedicated all her time to Lola, making her feel welcome, and she kept us updated with photos and videos.”

About: Hi! I’m a huge dog lover based in Sheffield with experience caring for dogs of all sizes, from small breeds to larger dogs. I’ve grown up around dogs and have helped train them to be crate trained, potty trained, and even learn fun tricks. I love getting outdoors for long walks and making sure every dog gets the exercise, attention, and affection they need. Whether your dog is energetic and loves adventures or prefers a slower pace and lots of cuddles, I’ll tailor their care to suit their personality and routine. I live in a quiet, calm home where dogs can feel safe, relaxed, and comfortable. I also have a flexible schedule, so I’m available for boarding, daycare, walks, and last-minute bookings whenever possible. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I’ll treat your dog like one of my own. I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can relax knowing they’re happy, well cared for, and getting plenty of love. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry best friend! 🐾 Pet care fits really well into my routine. I attend university roughly twice a week during term time and I climb around three times a week, but outside of that I have a very flexible schedule as I’m not currently working. This gives me lots of time and availability to dedicate to looking after pets, whether that’s walks, daycare, or boarding. I have a calm, pet-friendly home with no children, no other pets, and I do not smoke. I have an unfenced garden that is backed by houses away from roads, and dogs will always be supervised and taken out on a lead for regular toilet breaks. I can also offer frequent walks, with several nearby parks providing plenty of safe exercise and variety. Your dog will always be cared for in a safe, relaxed environment with their comfort and routine prioritised.

“Lucy was brilliant with our Labradoodle Maisie for a short 3 night stay. Maisie recently lost her big sister so hasn’t been used to being an “only dog” so Lucy’s beautiful husky Indy, was great company for her. Lucy sent regular updates and pics/ videos showing how much fun Maisie was having on her walks and also how settled she was in their home environment. I would highly recommend Lucy and will definitely be asking her to look after Maisie again soon!”

About: We’re Claire and Liam. We’ve both grown up with dogs and currently have 2 rescue dogs ourselves. We love taking our dogs everywhere we go, our lives very much revolve around them! We do activities like canicross, scentwork and mantrailing with them. We’d love to help you look after your dog while you’re away and will bring them along to all our adventures. We both work from home with flexible working arrangements. Our dogs have at least an hour walk with toilet breaks throughout during the weekdays and much longer during the weekends. Our garden will be fully fenced this summer and our 2 dogs can keep yours company. We also have a separate space for your dog if they prefer this at any point.
“Such a lovely fab host for my Missie 💞 very responsive, respectful, caring and kind.. Can tell Missie has had a fab time and has been well cared for and looked after.. Would 110% recommend Nam and book again in future.. Thank you 🩷”

“We are always so happy to leave Selma in the trusty hands of George (and Rebecca). She always seems happy, content and perhaps even better behaved than at home 😂 Would recommend to anyone.”

About: I’ve had dogs all my life and have taken on the shared responsibility of being a dog owner since I was a child. I adore their company and have had two chihuahuas of my own. I have experience with elderly dogs who require multiple medications a day. I have a home studio where I do clients nails. I do 2-4 clients a day so I have plenty time to gap fill with dog walks/cuddles. I’m flexible as my schedule differs day to day. I have a small, secure garden with a grass patch round the front. I have a little old man chihuahua who gets on with most dogs but if he doesn’t, my partner works from home full time so can keep him home while I walk your dog :)
“Sam and her partner were amazing in looking after our 6month old very energetic puppy! They were kind and professional and leaving our puppy with them was really stress free . Sam has a very calm and kind approach with our puppy Marcus which we love! On picking up Marcus he seemed happy and content , we would definitely be more than happy to leave Marcus with them again. Thank you so much Sam!”

“Amber is really good at communicating both discussing details prior to the boarding and during. She sent us a quick update with photo and it seems like our dog Arthur had a good time with them. Thanks Amber!”

“We would highly recommend Ellen. She took brilliant care of our bulldog. Ellen was really accommodating to his specific needs and quirks (of which there are many). Excellent communication throughout.”

“Many thanks to Lindsey for looking after Barney, our 2 year old Golden Retriever. We were pleased with the helpful, prompt communication to all questions we asked and from the photos that we were sent we could see he was enjoying himself in the water with Mac. When collected we were glad to hear he had settled in well, especially as this was his first stay away from family.”

“Couldn’t have left Ralph in a safer, more reassuring space than with Hallie and her lovely family and her lovely Snow! Very communicative, always keeping us in the loop with regular updates how Ralph was getting on, lots of beautiful pictures! Tended to his every need and more. Honestly, thank you so much for all your love and care for our little man. A very happy dog returned to us! Will definitely be using Hallie in the future!”

“I couldn’t recommend Sally anymore. The second she walked in you could tell she loved dogs. My dog loved her too. Fab communication and went out of her way to accommodate me. My dog loved her stay so much I think she’s sad she’s home!!! Thanks so much again 🤩”

“Bethany was amazing at looking after our, sometimes, difficult little dachshund. Layla had a great time, we got updates to keep us at ease and Layla seemed very content when we collected her. Would recommend Bethany in the future!”

Savina is a lovely sitter who took time to ask questions and get to know Seb for his first stay, including meeting her gorgeous lab Leo in advance. She put a lot of effort into helping Seb settle, and he had plenty of exercise during the stay. Great communication too. Thanks!

This was our first time using Rover, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Communication was excellent throughout, giving us complete peace of mind. Oz absolutely loved his stay with Ebony, Rueben, Shaz, and Mark, and was clearly in cuddle heaven! He was treated like one of the family, and we came home to a very happy boy. We wouldn't hesitate to book again—highly recommended! Thank you so much.

Karolina looked after Jarvis for 8 nights. Unfortunately Jarvis caught a vomiting bug a day or so before we left him with her but she handled this very well, took him to the vet when he struggled to get better and kept us informed. She obviously loves dogs and we are very, very happy with the care Jarvis received and all the photos we received. I recommend Karolina unreservedly and can only hope she is available next time we need a sitter.

Soraya has been a lovely carer for Paco, wanting to establish good rapport from the start and understanding his needs and wants. She's been communicative over the days she's looked after him and has followed all the indications we gave her. Paco loved staying with her!

Wilson really enjoyed his trial stay with Sam and her family. Wilson can be a bit anxious in new places at first but Sam was absolutely brilliant with him. We also received photos during the stay which really helped put our minds at ease! We have already booked a longer stay for Wilson next month and have no doubt that he will have the best time :)

Megan has looked after Lola a couple times now and she always comes home a happy girl. Megan keeps us up to date regularly and replies quickly, she sends picture updates to reassure us if we have any questions or just want to check in on how Lola is. Highly recommend using Megan is you’re in the Sheffield area, she is fantastic!

Jenna took wonderful care of Cole. She was very easy to communicate with, followed feeding and care instructions to a T, and sent plenty of updates (with photos) on their adventures. We had a wonderful weekend away knowing our pup was well cared for, and Cole will be sure to spend more time at Jenna's down the line.

Bee stayed for 24 hours and was clearly very happy, relaxed and well cared for. I was kept updated throughout her stay with lovely photographs, which was really reassuring and meant I could relax knowing she was in safe hands. A friendly, reliable and caring dog sitter who I would happily use again. Highly recommended!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
