“Darcy and her partner are both clearly very experienced with dogs. They're super friendly but, most importantly, they clearly absolutely love having dogs to stay. My lad got on like a house on fire with Teddy, their resident dog, who was gorgeous. They have a secure garden and the ability to separate the dogs in the house of required. I was really impressed and pleased; Darcy was really communicative and sent several updates over only a 1 day stay. I would recommend 10/10!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life. I grew up in a family that absolutely loved pets, and caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. Over the years, I’ve cared for cats, dogs, parrots, rabbits, iguanas and even wildlife while volunteering. Because Romania has a serious stray-animal problem, I spent many years rescuing, fostering and rehabilitating stray cats and dogs, often working alongside veterinarians to help them recover and find loving homes. I’ve cared for animals ranging from newborns to elderly pets, including animals that were traumatized, seriously ill or needed extra patience and intensive care. I always had my own pets too, bith dogs and cats. I’ve also looked after many friends’ and family members’ pets, including walking and caring for dogs of different breeds, sizes and personalities. I always dreamed of becoming a vet, and although life took me in a different direction, animals have remained a huge part of my life. I’m patient, attentive and genuinely enjoy getting to know each animal’s personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable and cared for. I’m a tattoo artist with a flexible schedule and plenty of availability during the week, so I can give pets plenty of time, attention and care. For suitable dogs, I can also offer evening adventures in the Peak District if the owner is happy with this. I can host small and medium-sized dogs in my flat, provided they’re comfortable in a flat environment and don’t bark excessively. My priority is for every pet to feel safe, relaxed and happy. I live in a quiet, green area with two large parks nearby, perfect for walks and exploring. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions and keep pets safe, supervised and comfortable while maintaining their usual routines. I’m experienced with animals of all ages and needs, including rescue animals and very young kittens requiring bottle-feeding, so I’m attentive to changes in behaviour and know when a pet may need extra care.

About: Me and my partner are new to Rover, but not new to caring for animals. We’ve both grown up in homes full of pets and have years of hands‑on experience with training, walking and looking after our family dogs. Our homely flat is a calm, safe space, and we’re confident giving pets the same love, structure and attention they’re used to at home. Our routine is flexible enough that we can build pet care into every day. My partner works from home a couple of days a week and so do I, so one of us would be around in the day. We are usually home in the evenings, which makes walks, feeding and play straightforward. On the weekends we like to do walks and have some downtime too, so fitting their needs around our schedule will feel very natural. In our home, pets get a calm and safe environment. We keep doors secured, remove anything that could be hazardous, and make sure pets have a comfortable space to relax. Walks, feeding and play are supervised, and we will stick to the routines that owners share with us - so that your furry friend feels settled and secure. We treat every pet as if they were our own and keep communication open throughout their stay, so that you can be reassured that they are being loved and cared for.

About: I’ve owned and lived with dogs my whole life, and have plenty of experience looking after dogs for family and friends over the years. I’m most experienced with small to medium-sized breeds, but I’m also very comfortable around larger dogs. I have my own Labradoodle, Bear, at home, so I’m used to the everyday responsibilities of caring for a dog and understand that every dog has their own personality, routine and needs. I’m an active person and love getting out for walks or runs and exploring with the dogs in my care. Whether they’re looking for a long walk and plenty of exercise or are happier taking things at a slower pace, I’m happy to adapt to what suits them. For me, looking after a dog is about more than simply keeping them safe. I want them to feel comfortable, settled and part of the family while they’re with me, with plenty of attention, play and affection along the way. When your dog stays with us, they’ll be treated as part of the family and won’t be left on their own for long periods. My wife and I both work on a hybrid basis, so there will always be someone at home. We’ll only accept a booking when one of us is available to be there. We’re both active and enjoy getting out with the dogs, so you can expect regular walks throughout the day — usually in the morning, around midday and again in the afternoon. We have plenty of nearby fields, woodland and open spaces, giving us lots of opportunities for longer walks and exploring. There’s also regular access to our garden for some fresh air, playtime or simply relaxing outside. Bear will usually join us for walks and play, giving dogs the opportunity to have a companion during their stay. Of course, we’ll always take introductions at the dogs’ own pace and can keep them separated if that’s more comfortable or preferred. For overnight stays, your dog will be welcome to sleep with Bear, or we can provide a separate space if they prefer their own space or need to be kept apart. Your dog’s safety and wellbeing will always be our priority. We have a completely secure garden, with plenty of space for dogs to enjoy some fresh air and play safely. Dogs will usually spend time with Bear, including on walks and around the house. Bear is incredibly soft and sweet natured. But we do understand that not every dog will be comfortable living alongside another dog. We’re able to keep dogs separated whenever needed or preferred, and we’ll always take introductions slowly and follow your dog’s temperament and routine. We also have the flexibility to use a crate or a large, covered area that can be fully enclosed, giving dogs a safe and comfortable space of their own when they need some quiet time. Above all, we’re responsible, sensible and professional people who genuinely love dogs. We’ll take the time to understand your dog, follow the instructions you leave us and make sure they’re safe, happy and well cared for throughout their stay.
