'Cat or dog person?' Why not both?!
Hi, I'm Sam. I love cats and dogs equally - I'm a firm believer that it doesn't have to be either/or! I grew up in a house with cats of very different personalities - one who was as quiet as a mouse and the other who was a dyed-in-the-fur neighbourhood bruiser. I've also spent a lot of time around dogs since I was a young kid, from digging holes in the garden with my childminder's Border Collie to looking after my friend's Beagle for long weekends and taking him on the Sheffield Round Walk. I've always wanted a dog of my own and I'm just waiting for the day when it becomes practical. (Unfortunately my partner is not a cat person, so the dream of having both is unlikely...) I'm a caring, responsible and responsive pet lover who is confident around animals of different shapes, sizes and temperaments. I understand that cats and dogs are deceptively complex, so they require a personalised approach. I'm currently very flexible for home visits of dogs and cats, and walks for dogs. I'm based in Heeley, S2. I'm new to Rover but I take the job seriously. I'm also keen to meet and greet to make sure we're both comfortable before committing to anything. I can't wait to get to know your cat and/or dog!

Sam is a friendly, kind and reliable person who has been looking after our Beagle, Bertie, for around 8 years - sometimes for long weekends and sometimes for a week at a time. Bertie loves going to stay with Sam and we completely trust Sam with all aspects of Bertie’s care. We highly recommend Sam as a trusted, responsible person to look after your pet!
Sam is a great friend of mine and is someone I believe would be an excellent caregiver to anyone's pet. He has looked after my greyhound Brutus on many occasions, walking and feeding him and looking after him when we have been on holidays and we have never had any worries here.He is a kind and responsible adult and is someone you can rely on.

Schedule
I'm currently out of work so I'm super flexible. My son (5) absolutely loves dogs too so sometimes he'll be able to tag along.

Our garden is nice and secure. Whenever we have a dog staying we close the upstairs doors so they don't have free rein, and generally they sleep in the living room.
