“Izzy was absolutely amazing looking after my 2 cats, and I couldn't recommend her more! 1 of my cats is usually scared of any strangers (she hides from people she's known for years) but Izzy played with her and managed a pet or two. Izzy went over and above and I will certainly be seeing if she is available again!”

“We were apprehensive about leaving our rescue 8 month old kitten for the first time, but Evie came to visit and make friends with Patch the weekend before. We felt happy and confident and happy he'd get along fine. hShe kept us updated and sent photos of him looking happy with his treats. And even better he didn't seem that annoyed that we'd left him overnight :). Thanks Evie. First time leaving our 8 month old rescue kitten overnight, and we were a little apprehensive about leaving him. Evie came and visited to make friends with Patch beforehand which was great, and we felt confident he'd be fine with Evie visiting him whilst we were away. She kept us updated and sent photos of him looking happy with his treats. And even better he didn't seem that annoyed that we'd left him overnight when we got back :). Thanks Evie.”

“I would highly recommend Clare! Clare was happy to accommodate a slightly chaotic request for a last minute meet&greet/drop-in. She instantly put me at ease and bonded with my dog Blue. During the drop-in she sent multiple photos and kept me updated. Great communication, 10/10 😊”

About: I have had and looked after many animals (mainly rescues) since I could walk. I have extensive experience with dogs and have grown up around cats. I have been pet sitting in Melbourne Australia for the last 3 years and love working with my clients regularly to help their dogs feel settled while they are away. I have worked with all sorts of dogs from chilled out sleepy pooches to angsty or nervous pets! I am currently work part time with some study online, which can be done from home. My shifts are normally only a maximum of 5 hours as I work as a personal trainer, so your pet wouldn’t be on its own for long! I don’t offer dog sitting in my own home as I have a rescue dog who is not great with new dogs. However in your home I promise to leave it clean and tidy and make sure your pet gets all the attention and walks or pets they need!
“Ellie was great. Came round at arranged time for a pre-meet and was very professional and organised gathering the information she needed. She was flexible and accommodating in meeting our cats particular needs and I felt confident entrusting our cat and home to her while we were away. Our cat is quite timid but was a fan of Ellie, choosing to sit in her lap for a cuddle which is rare. Really appreciated the photos to give us peace of mind that our beloved cat was well and happy. We wouldn’t hesitate to use again and to recommend.”

About: I’ve taken care of a range of animals my whole life, my neighbours have asked me to take care of their pets ranging from a quick pop in to feed the cat, a lap round the village with the dog, putting the geese away at night and dog sat for many an evening. I am a student who has just moved home from university and am writing my dissertation so I have a very free and open schedule at the moment. I ensure that I have asked the owners all necessary questions in order to feel comfortable with the animal and ensure I can provide them with the very best care.
“Great couple, clearly having a magic touch with cats. Biscuit warmed up to them very quickly and was very relaxed and happy when we came home, which is a great sign. They sent daily pictures and videos which was a great touch. We'll definitely book with them again.”

About: Hi! I’m Jasmine, and I have lots of hands-on experience caring for animals. I currently work as a veterinary receptionist at a small animal vets, so I’m used to being around animals every day and understand the importance of their health, welfare and individual routines. I’m also starting an Animal Science course at college and working towards a career in veterinary nursing. I’m responsible, caring and reliable, and I’m very happy to follow detailed instructions from owners. I understand that every dog is different, so I’ll always take the time to get to know them and make sure they feel safe, comfortable and happy while they’re in my care. 🐾 I’d love to meet you and your dog and hopefully become someone you can trust for regular walks, drop-ins or pet care! ❤️ Pet care would fit really well around my current lifestyle. I work part-time at a small animal vets and will be starting my Animal Science course at college, so I would mainly offer pet care around my existing commitments, particularly evenings, weekends and days when I’m available. I’m organised and responsible with my time and would only accept bookings that I know I can give my full attention to. I’m hoping to build up a small amount of regular pet care alongside work and college, rather than taking on too much. I’d especially love to build relationships with local owners who need someone reliable for regular dog walks, drop-in visits or occasional pet sitting. I have dogs of my own, so I’m very used to caring for animals safely and responsibly. I make sure they’re secure, have everything they need, and are never left without proper care. 🐶❤️
About: I have several years of experience with pets, mostly dogs but also small animals and cats. I have two family dogs that are working spaniels, so I’m used to high energy and finding ways to stimulate them! I also have experience with senior dogs and blind dogs, I am able to administer medication, give extra attention and any additional needs. I have also done volunteer days at different animal charities in which dog walking was a large part of - I have worked with dogs in muzzles, different behaviors and temperaments. Charity days also largely consist of cat sitting and socializing so I can also offer drop in visits to cats for playtime/feeding etc! This also applies to small animals - having two guinea pigs myself that are spoilt, I am more than happy to pop into your smaller pets for a check up / feed and snuggle! I work for a pet retailer, so my experience with pet handling and knowledge around pets is second to none. I would love to walk / pet sit during my time off as it fills my days! I do currently work in retail management. But would love the opportunity to start looking after pets with my time, I am quite flexible due to working shifts also. I can easily use a crate and have experience with crate training. The garden is secure and house is secure. I would recommend a good quality lead and harness for walks.
“Elena responded very quickly to our enquiry to look after our cat Rosy while we were on holiday, and was proactive about understanding Rosy’s needs and routine, asking insightful questions. We received many photos and notes while we were away, which gave us plenty of assurance that Rosy was being cared for very well. We returned home to a happy and content cat! Elena patently loves cats and can be trusted to look after them - can definitely recommend!”

“Amy has looked after our cat, pond fish and wild birds exceptionally well. Her reliability and care has been excellent! We shall definitely be asking Amy again in the future , definitely would recommend her.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
