“Ellie was great. Came round at arranged time for a pre-meet and was very professional and organised gathering the information she needed. She was flexible and accommodating in meeting our cats particular needs and I felt confident entrusting our cat and home to her while we were away. Our cat is quite timid but was a fan of Ellie, choosing to sit in her lap for a cuddle which is rare. Really appreciated the photos to give us peace of mind that our beloved cat was well and happy. We wouldn’t hesitate to use again and to recommend.”
“I would highly recommend Clare! Clare was happy to accommodate a slightly chaotic request for a last minute meet&greet/drop-in. She instantly put me at ease and bonded with my dog Blue. During the drop-in she sent multiple photos and kept me updated. Great communication, 10/10 😊”

About: I have had and looked after many animals (mainly rescues) since I could walk. I have extensive experience with dogs and have grown up around cats. I have been pet sitting in Melbourne Australia for the last 3 years and love working with my clients regularly to help their dogs feel settled while they are away. I have worked with all sorts of dogs from chilled out sleepy pooches to angsty or nervous pets! I am currently work part time with some study online, which can be done from home. My shifts are normally only a maximum of 5 hours as I work as a personal trainer, so your pet wouldn’t be on its own for long! I don’t offer dog sitting in my own home as I have a rescue dog who is not great with new dogs. However in your home I promise to leave it clean and tidy and make sure your pet gets all the attention and walks or pets they need!
About: Hello! I’m Brigid. I’m currently having a break from work, but can’t pull myself away totally, so am offering some pet sitting and dog walking hours. By nature of the job, I’m an all animals type of person, but have a particular soft spot for the kitties. Please note that whilst I am a fully qualified vet, I will not provide any veterinary work, perform any clinical exams, or give any veterinary advice. For me to do the aforementioned is neither legal nor ethical. What I can offer is peace of mind for you if you have a pet with a medical condition and needs specific treatment administering, eg diabetics requiring injections, or pets with dry eye. My day to day work is keeping animals happy and healthy, detecting potential medical problems, and administering medications. I do sadly have lots of experience performing CPR in emergency situations, and am full capable of performing first aid in order to get your pet to their registered vet. If I decide your pet ever needs to be seen by their registered veterinarian, I will contact you immediately. I will be available most days, including the Christmas period and weekends. I’m an active walker regardless, and have lots of routes I can take your little one on with me. All whilst taking care of my own cat, Witchwitton! I currently cannot look after pets within my own home. All pet sits would need to occur within your home, but I am open to visiting multiple times a day or staying longer hours.
“Lauren dropped in for an hour each day to sit with my cats whilst we were on holiday, the service she provided was excellent and I appreciated getting daily updates and photos. I highly recommend her and will be definitely using her services in the future.”

“Amy has looked after our cat, pond fish and wild birds exceptionally well. Her reliability and care has been excellent! We shall definitely be asking Amy again in the future , definitely would recommend her.”

About: I have several years of experience with pets, mostly dogs but also small animals and cats. I have two family dogs that are working spaniels, so I’m used to high energy and finding ways to stimulate them! I also have experience with senior dogs and blind dogs, I am able to administer medication, give extra attention and any additional needs. I have also done volunteer days at different animal charities in which dog walking was a large part of - I have worked with dogs in muzzles, different behaviors and temperaments. Charity days also largely consist of cat sitting and socializing so I can also offer drop in visits to cats for playtime/feeding etc! This also applies to small animals - having two guinea pigs myself that are spoilt, I am more than happy to pop into your smaller pets for a check up / feed and snuggle! I work for a pet retailer, so my experience with pet handling and knowledge around pets is second to none. I would love to walk / pet sit during my time off as it fills my days! I do currently work in retail management. But would love the opportunity to start looking after pets with my time, I am quite flexible due to working shifts also. I can easily use a crate and have experience with crate training. The garden is secure and house is secure. I would recommend a good quality lead and harness for walks.
About: I have been around dogs my whole life. I have 2 cats and a dog currently. I got my dog 4 years ago. I trained him from a puppy. I have a level 3 degree in animal management and also volunteering experience in a vets practice. I have a massive heart for all animals big or small. I am currently working part-time so have plenty of time to look after all pups and kittens. I will work my pet sitting around my hours at work but since I only work part time I have loads of time to spare. I take my dog for walks everyday but due to him loving his sleep he sleeps most of the day. Due to me not offering pet sitting in my home. I will feed, sit, play and walk dogs and cats from the comfort of owners homes. Since being around dogs and carts nearly my whole life I have loads of experience of how to properly take care of animals.
About: Hi! 👋 A little bit about me…I’ve grown up with animals in my life and have had pets since age of 5. Growing up on a farm, I’ve always naturally had an affinity for animals. I have experience looking after kittens, puppies, cats as well as dogs. I have been trusted to dog sit for friends and family for most of my adult life, but have been doing so professionally for the last few years. If you have any questions at all - feel free to message me. I currently work from home so have now got increased capacity to make weekly trips to look after other peoples pets. Hence I am opening my availability up to provide care for more pets. Caring for each pet is different and I am more than happy to meet requirements of each pet’s specific needs and routine alongside providing a watchful eye and fulfilling their personal interactive needs such as cuddles/petting, treats, and continuing their training as requested.
“Had Maddie meet my furry friend today for the first time. With my dog having extreme anxiety over new people, I was surprised how much he'd let her do during their first meet. They say dogs can feel people much better than we can. For Moss to let Maddie pet him and to eat from her hand within 20 minutes of first meeting her, that means a lot! I've got a feeling they can build an awesome relationship, and spend great time together when I have to take care of other business.”

“Sue dropped by to look after our two cats after our original plans fell through and we needed someone urgently. We’re so thankful that Sue was able to work around our times at such late notice. We also got updates from visits and everything was left tidy for when we got back, thank you!”

“Conner was amazing with Toby. We were a little nervous as he had never been left with anybody before but Conner made us feel so at ease. Felt safe and secure the entire time and got lots of photos of their time together. Toby is looking forward to the next time he sees his friend! Will definitely book Conner again. Thank you!”

“Cassie is absolutely amazing! She took the best care of my cat Molly while I was away, and I couldn't have asked for more. She was reliable, trustworthy, and communicated with me regularly to keep me updated on my pet's activities and well-being. I was impressed by her attention to detail. She was also very flexible which made the whole experience stress-free for me. I would highly recommend Cassie to anyone in need of a pet sitter. I feel so lucky to have found her and I know I'll be using her services again in the future.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
