I run my own business and have a great deal of flexibility in how I organise my time, while my wife is retired, so someone is always at home. I enjoy walking and would naturally organise the day around the dog, with regular toilet breaks, a morning walk and a longer walk later in the day. I am also very happy to follow the dog’s normal routine.

Safety, trust & environment
Our home is calm, clean, spacious and dog-friendly. We live in a large flat with a covered, dog-friendly balcony and access to an approximately half-acre, fully fenced grassy outdoor area for supervised toilet breaks, fresh air and play. We only care for dogs from one household at a time, so they receive plenty of attention in a relaxed environment. Dogs are welcome on the furniture and can sleep wherever they feel most comfortable, including in our bedroom if that matches their normal routine. We will follow all feeding, exercise, sleeping and care instructions carefully. We also send regular photos and updates so owners can feel reassured throughout their dog’s stay.

Information Matthew T. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know about your dog’s usual routine, feeding, sleep, exercise, medication, recall, behaviour around other dogs and anything that may make them anxious or unsettled. I can only accept dogs that are reliably house-trained and have no history of aggression, persistent indoor marking or excessive barking. I am unable to accommodate dogs in season or dogs with severe separation anxiety. A meet-and-greet beforehand is important so we can make sure the arrangement is right for everyone.
A typical day
A typical day starts with an early toilet break, followed by a proper morning walk once we are up and ready. Later in the day, I usually take the dog out for a longer walk, with additional toilet breaks in the afternoon, after dinner and before bed. Between walks, there is plenty of time for rest, company, play and affection. I am happy to include games, enrichment and short training exercises where appropriate, but I will always follow the dog’s normal routine and energy levels rather than impose my own.

Pet care experience
I have grown up with dogs and have cared for them throughout my life, including dogs belonging to friends and family. My experience includes walking, feeding, overnight stays and looking after dogs in my home for several weeks at a time. My wife and I would love to have a dog of our own, but our current circumstances do not allow us to make that permanent commitment. Boarding gives us the opportunity to enjoy the company of different dogs while giving each one a calm, comfortable and attentive stay. We are both relaxed, patient and happy to adapt to each dog’s personality and established routine. Any dog staying with us would be treated as part of the household and given plenty of company, affection and individual attention. My main motivation is simply to spend time with dogs and give them an enjoyable stay. Any earnings I receive after Rover’s fees will be donated to Dogs Trust.
Reviews
Matt is fantastic looking after dogs and took great care of my dog recently and even bought her extra treats! I dont think she wanted to come home lol ! I would highly recommend .
I recommend Matthew as he is a very patient and caring with animals, he will look after your pet as if they were his own.
I couldn’t recommend this dog sitter more highly. My dog stayed at their home and was so well looked after from start to finish. They went on plenty of long walks, received lots of love and attention, and it was clear they were treated like part of the family. They’re incredibly trustworthy, responsible, and a genuine animal lover. It gave me complete peace of mind knowing my dog was safe, happy, and in such caring hands. I felt totally relaxed while I was away, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my dog!
Matt is an excellent dog sitter and someone I trust completely with my own dog. He's a caring, reliable, and experienced dog owner who genuinely understands dogs and their individual needs. Any dog staying with Matt will be treated like one of the family in a safe, loving home. He has plenty of experience caring for dogs of different personalities and knows how important it is to owners to keep their much loved pets happy, comfortable, and well looked after. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Matt to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate person to care for their dog.
