“Lauren was brilliant from start to finish. She replied straight away when I initially requested more info and as this was such a last minute booking, it was so helpful. She sent me updates and pictures throughout the entire stay. Remi was very happy with Lauren and even cried after we left her. She will take great care of your dog as she did mine. I would highly recommend and will definitely love to hire her again. Thanks again Lauren x”

“Ben was an incredibly flexible and kind sitter, and Charlie came back absolutely exhausted and delighted to have been played with and cared for with such obvious enthusiasm. I had several last minute changes to plans and Ben was incredibly helpful in making sure Charlie was cared for and catered to.”

“Maria and Philip were great! Looked after my woody so well, he can be challenging at times but nothing was to hard for them. Woody has never stayed out before so we went with house calls. We wil definitely be using Maria and Philip again I can’t thank use enough for looking after him on a bank holiday weekend.”

“My 5 month old puppy stayed with Jena for the first time this week. It’s difficult to find a sitter who really knows how to look after a young puppy, even if it has a great temperament & is well behaved (for a puppy). But Jenna was great, she knew exactly what questions to ask, which gave me confidence that she understood the discipline required to ensure a puppy understands what’s required of it when away from home. Oscar had a fab time, with just the right balance of exercise & sleep. He also loved the company of Jena’s little Teddy’s on walks. It was comforting to see at 5 months that he could be off lead without me there to recall him. Although he was over the moon to see me at pick up time, he was slightly reluctant to get into my car, I’m pretty sure he didn’t want to leave 😂😂. We will definitely be back to stay with Jena & Teddy again.”

“We honestly couldn’t recommend them highly enough. They have been absolutely brilliant with our dog, and it’s so clear how much they genuinely adore her. Every time she stays with them, she has the best time, and we always feel completely at ease knowing she’s in such loving, capable hands. It means the world to us to have someone we trust so fully with our precious girl, and we’re so grateful for the care, attention, and love they give her. Truly exceptional dog sitters!”
“This is the first time we have left Dennis with someone other than family, and we were a bit nervous. But we had no reason to be. Zee was fab with him, and went for a quick walk together in advance to check he was happy. We can tell he had the best time, He came back with a massive grin on his face and didn’t even give us the silence treatment for leaving him !”

“Catherine was an absolute life saver for taking Nala whilst I was away on business. It's the first time I had been away from Nala and I was a little worried until I met Catherine in person. Nala loved her and her home and I was sent daily photos of their walks together. She kept in touch throughout and I would highly recommend using Catherine to mind your dog without hesitation......unless its a day that I need her!!! Thank you Catherine, will definitely use you again to watch Nala.”

“Nothing was too much trouble. First time staying out and Myla loved it. When we picked her up could see how much she had settled in. Would highly recommend if anxious about dog sitting for first time. Thank you see you soon.”

“Jen has been absolutely amazing with my dog. He has enjoyed many walks and lots of cuddles. Jen came to stay at my house as I was anxious about my dog leaving his home due to his age and seizures, I didnt want to stress him out, this was no problem for her and made me relax instantly knowing he would remain in his home. I would highly recommend and will definitely use Jen again in the future. Thanks Jen xx”

“Georgina and Morgan were both amazing with Vinnie, I could tell from the moment I brought Vinnie to meet them for the first time he was instantly comfortable ☺️ I would definitely recommend Georgina and Morgan to anyone and I would 100% ask them to mind Vinnie again in future!”

“My dog loved staying with Rachael and her dog Hallie for 8 days. He was very well looked after and Rachael kept in touch sending me photos and messages. I would definitely recommend Rachel.”

“Cooper loves his time with Juisana and the family. He is well looked after like he is their own, and we get lots of pictures and updates throughout his stay. Cooper looks forward to his next stay!”

I honestly cannot recommend Kayleigh enough!! I put off holidays and nights away as I worry about leaving our 7 year old Hungarian Vizsla. He's not a "normal" dog - full of mischief, energy & love. A true velcro dog that thinks he is human. I worry that he's not a "normal" smaller dog that does dog things and he might be hard to manage for other people - especially those that are not used to the breed! But wow! Kayleigh was absolutely amazing, we met with Kayleigh and Raju for a walk around the park and Otto seemed so happy and smiley around them both. Otto stayed for one week and usually when boarding / at kennels he comes home exhausted and with visible weight loss. We had regular updates from Kayleigh and he absolutely loved his daily walks and cuddles. He seemed so relaxed even when we arrived to collect him he still went back over to Kayleigh & Raju to say bye and give them a cuddle before we left. He was so happy in himself, looked so well and content in himself and had the biggest smile. Otto is absolutely crazy and I honestly cannot thank both Kayleigh & Raju enough and would highly recommend to any dog parents!!

Daniela was amazing and helped us out last minute with our two dogs - Buddy and Mila. Daniela collected and dropped them off. Whilst under Daniela’s care they had such fun evidenced by the videos Daniela shared. Lots of walks and fun on the beach. Absolutely recommend Daniela and I will use her services again.

Simon boarded and took care of our German Shepherd for a week in May. He took him for regular walks and took into account the hot weather, so in the evening on the local park and beach when it was cooler. We could tell as soon as we met Simon, he was a dog lover and our Max took to him straight away. When we picked Max up, he looked comfortable at Simon's place and we'll looked after. Would happily ask Simon to look after him in the future.

Hannah looked after our Labrador Retriever Eddie on fairly short notice, for 2 nights. She was brilliant, keeping in touch with us and sending photographs. Eddie seemed really settled and at home with her and we really had peace of mind. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hannah and would certainly have Eddie spend time with her again

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
