I do work full-time as a SEN teaching assistant, so I’m usually out and about during school hours in the week. That said, I’m generally free from Friday evening right through the weekend, which is when I can be much more flexible with visits and boarding. At home, Cookie (my cat) is well looked after with an automatic feeder, so I can nip out without too much fuss. As I’m only round the corner, I can usually pop back at lunchtime if I’ve got a dog staying with me, so they wouldn’t be left for too long on their own. During the week, I can often manage early mornings or evenings for drop-in visits – though it does depend a little on the day. Weekends, however, are much more relaxed, so I can more or less shape things around your pet’s usual routine.

I ensure that your pets are well taken care of by playing with them and ensuring they are fed and hydrated. It's crucial for me to receive feeding instructions in advance to provide the best care for your beloved pet while you are away. This also helps maintain their usual routine, preventing them from feeling confused or overwhelmed by any changes. If your pet requires medication, I'll create a plan for when to administer it throughout the day. In terms of safety, I do not let a dog run unleashed to prevent any emergencies connected to running away or an attack by other dogs.

Just so I can make sure your pet’s completely comfortable while they’re with me, could you let me know a few little bits: ◻️ Feeding: what food/brand, portion size and meal times. Any treats allowed? ◻️ Toileting: litter habits (for cats) or toilet routine (for dogs). Any quirks I should know? ◻️ Supplies: are you going to bring their things (litter box/bed/bowls) or are they fine using mine? I do have spares if needed. ◻️ Health: any allergies, sensitivities or vet notes. ◻️ Comfort: favourite toys, blankets or nap spots. ◻️ Behaviour: how they tend to ask for food, walks, cuddles or attention, and how they show when they’d rather be left alone. ◻️ Rules: are they allowed on the sofa/bed/counters, or do you prefer boundaries? ◻️ Safety: best way to keep them from sneaking human food or getting into things they shouldn’t. ◻️ Emergency: your vet’s details and how you’d like me to contact you if anything came up.
A typical day
While taking care of your pet, we'll head to the nearby park and spend some quality time together. We'll play fetch with a ball and maybe even chase some squirrels. Your dog or cat will receive plenty of tummy rubs to help them relax and enjoy the day while you're away.

I’ve been around animals for as long as I can remember – from walking and feeding my uncle’s dog as a child, to being the trusted sitter for my neighbours’ cats and dogs over the years. I even once helped deliver two kittens, which was quite an experience – I like to joke that I was their midwife! Back in Ukraine, I have Luna, my Scottish Fold, who still lives with my parents and greets me whenever I visit. Here in the UK, I share my home with Cookie, my six-month-old domestic shorthair, who is full of energy and mischief. For that reason, I’d just ask that any pets coming for boarding are reasonably comfortable being around cats. I wouldn’t claim to be anything extraordinary, but I do try to bring a lot of care, patience and common sense to looking after animals. Whether it’s walking, feeding, bathing or simply keeping them company, I’ll do my best to make sure they feel settled and cared for – much as I would hope for my own.
