“Just amazing… Archie felt right at home as soon as he met Lidia & her husband. To be able to leave your fur baby for a period of time in a place that your dog feels is “home away from home” is fantastic. Thanks so much for looking after Archie. He’s looking forward to his next visit soon!”

“Rachel looked after my little dog Bentley for 2 days and overnight stay. Felt more than happy and he had a great stay. Sent me pictures and informed me of his well being. Would be more than happy to leave with Rachel again. Top service 👌”

“Alexandra was very responsive and gave lots of pupdates! Rupert seemed comfortable right away and even went to a gala with the family. I would happily have Rupert stay with Alexandra and her family again.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs since I was 8, looking after our family dog daily. For the past two years, I’ve regularly cared for my boyfriend’s puppy, including solo walks, holidays together, and plenty daily walks, even on the beach! I truly love dogs and, after losing my own, I want to share that love by helping others care for theirs. I’m careful, attentive, and very aware of my surroundings on walks. I live close to many beautiful short and long walking routes in the lakes and have both a large, secure garden and a safely fenced courtyard for dogs. I have a flexible part-time job and work self-employed two days a week, so my availability can often be adjusted. I’m available most weekday evenings and usually every other weekend and I’m always happy to work out what’s best for you and your dog. I love spending time with dogs and making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I treat every dog as if they were my own and always prioritise trust, attention, and enjoyable walks! I will make sure things are easy and stress-free for both dogs and their owners :)
“Daisy 2nd day care with Liv and she had so much fun playing with her doggies going on a little adventure walk and overall just having doggy fun. Lots of updates which is always lovely helps out my mind at rest as I hate leaving her but I know she is in safe and loving hands. Thanks Liv xx”

“This was the first time we have used Rover. Diana was the perfect host for our Cairn Terrier Mac. He got see lots of cool parks. And we were updated daily with great photos. He came back a very happy chappy. We would highly recommend Diana.”

“Hansen had a lovely time boarding with Caragh. He was included as part of the family. It was so reassuring to receive lots of videos and photos of him enjoying himself and looking so settled. Caragh is experienced and confident - most professional and obviously loves Hansen.”

“Well, what can I say… Pete is a lovely bloke who is clearly passionate about dogs. He has a great presence and seems to radiate calmness, which I think really helped our dog to settle with him. I can safely say that Juno will be returning to stay with her new found friend again soon. She clearly had a blast on her weekend holiday! Fantastic communication too, with updates and pictures throughout the weekend, these were greatly appreciated. Thank you Pete.”

“We have just picked up Lego after her staying with Nicola for almost 3 weeks. It is obvious that Nicola has taken great care of Lego as it was clear to us that she has had a great time and they clearly adore each other. We are so pleased to have found Nicola and wouldn't want her staying anywhere else.”

“Toby had a great stay with Steven. Steven kept me up to date with how Toby was and sent pictures and Toby really looked settled when I picked him up. Steven has a nice quiet calm way about him and I will definitely use his services again.”

About: We had a dog as children I later owned two dogs, Daisy and Bongo (in photo gallery). In Italy, where I managed a study centre, I looked after the owners dog during their winter absence. In Yorkshire I worked in the office and house of a stud farm and looked after Bonzo the office dog. Recently, for 4 years, I walked, swam and went on adventures with a lovely bearded collie, Nelson, until he died, which was heart breaking. John, his owner, has provided a reference. Last year I joined a house sitting site and had a great year. I first looked after Rhubarb, in Yorkshire. a sun worshipper who knew when she wanted to go for a walk, and when she didn't. Then it was Reggie, a one year old terrier who kept me on my toes and was an absolute character. Then it was Knaresborough with Mollie and Maisie, the cutest, sweetest most loving pair. Lula was an anxious little Tibetan terrier who liked sleeping, a lot, and going for quiet walks on Ilkley Moor and in the woods. She even decided the river was quite nice to chill in. They all feature in the rogues gallery. Two of the owners have given references. Having lived all over the world I returned to the UK to retire. I am available from mid March until the end of October/mid November - I don't do English winters. I am totally free of commitments and can dog sit in someone's home for one to three weeks but am flexible on dates. I prefer countryside sits in new places, Yorkshire, Lakes, Lancashire coast. I could have your dog stay with me, if I am not booked on an away stay. Only older smaller dogs to stay with me please. I live opposite the beach so plenty of space to run around and enjoy the outdoors. I love the countryside, walking, swimming, reading, creative writing and painting - so am equally as happy sitting at home quietly if your dog is more of a home body! Last year was great. I had the company of some fabulous dogs. We visited National Trust properties. Walked favourite places. Explored woods. Swam in rivers. Went on car trips. Hung around in the garden at home. Had grooming sessions and belly rubs, well that's the dogs, not me. And cuddled on the couch. I met some adorable dogs and lovely owners and visited some fantastic places. I'm hoping for more of the same this year. I absolutely love dogs and for some reason dogs always adore me, even the anxious little Lula took to me straight away. All dogs are different and I'm happy to follow feeding and walking regimes. I'm good at ball throwing, belly rubbing, grooming, cuddling up and watching TV in the evenings.

“I was looking for a sitter to watch our little Banksy whilst we went on holiday. I am so so pleased with how well he has been looked after, i received constant updates and pictures of our pooch and i knew he was in safe hands. The whole process from start to finish was amazing and went so smoothly. Chelsea and Andy are fantastic dog sitters and if your pup likes other dogs then this is a little holiday for them aswell. 10/10 review, will be using chelsea and Andy again every single time we go away. Couldn’t have asked for a more amazing family to give Banksy the best week ❤️ From Scarlett and Tom”

“Jane and her family made Mabel so welcome, I would certainly use her for dog care again! The farm is perfect for dogs to have an exciting break, I was grateful for some happy photos...Jane walked her once or twice a day! It felt like home from home for my puppy, Jane is calm, kind and very professional, showing interest in Mabels care and routines. A lovely first experience of Rover Thank you Jane, I hope you have us back!😊”

About: I have had dogs throughout my entire life and have grown up around a variety of breeds, sizes, and personalities. Over the years, I have cared for both small and large dogs, including Jack Russell Terriers, Chihuahuas, Weimaraners, and other larger breeds. Having lifelong experience with dogs has helped me become confident in understanding their different needs, behaviours, routines, and temperaments. In addition to caring for family pets, I regularly look after my partner’s mother’s dog whenever she travels. This has included longer periods of responsibility, such as caring for her dog while she was in Australia for 3–5 weeks at a time. During these stays, I have been responsible for all aspects of the dog’s daily care, including feeding, walking, exercise, playtime, companionship, maintaining routines, and ensuring their overall wellbeing and happiness while their owner is away. I understand how important it is for pet owners to know their dogs are safe, comfortable, and receiving plenty of attention when they cannot be there themselves. I pride myself on being reliable, trustworthy, and attentive, always treating every dog as if they were my own. Whether a dog enjoys long walks and lots of activity or prefers a quieter routine with plenty of affection and companionship, I am happy to adapt to their individual needs. My lifelong love of dogs means I genuinely enjoy spending time with them, getting to know their personalities, and making sure they feel secure, happy, and cared for. I am committed to providing a positive experience for both pets and their owners through dependable care, regular updates, and plenty of love and attention. My partner has a daughter who is with us Thursday-Saturday. I am currently taking a career break and wanting to go down the dog boarding route so thinking this will be the best route to carry on my skills and experience. I will be available everyday. I have a large enclosed back garden with a six foot fence around so plenty of room to play safely :) I have no other pets.
“I am always a little concerned leaving Lola with anyone. As she didn't have a good start in life. I had a very good feeling on our first meeting with Ian and Tracy. I immediately felt at ease as they clearly experienced and comfortable with dogs. They have two dogs of their own and Lola was happy to be with them. I always feel a little nervous and guilty when we go away. So to have someone like Ian and Tracy who reassures you, that she will be well looked after, gives you peace of mind. Excellent communication received, with regular updates and photos, this all helped us. Lola had lots of walks and play time, she was very happy and relaxed when we picked her up. ` I will definitely be using Ian and Tracy again. I highly recommend them for dog boarding. Thank you again.”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Bowness on Windermere
We needed to find someone to look after our pups whilst we attended our daughter’s graduation at Lancaster University. We were so happy to find Michelle, we instantly felt that our dogs would be safe and happy in her care. Having travelled up from Kent we didn’t have time for a play date, so we met on neutral ground near Michelle’s house, so our dogs could say hello to Michelle’s pup Amber. Michelle kept us fully updated with photos and videos and our dogs were very happy to stay with her. Thank you Michelle, knowing that Clara & Ozzy were happy meant that we could really relax and enjoy our daughters graduation!
