“Parker seemed to have a lovely time with Angela. She followed all our instructions and he settled in really well. He had lots of walks and food and cuddles and we’d definitely be happy to use them again.”

“Beth has been a godsend due to being let down at last minute with our pet sitter. She accepted our last minute booking and was a great communicator, helping us with directions and asking the necessary questions relating to our two border terriers. The girls were well looked after and we got many photos during their weeks stay.”

“Toby had a great two night stay with Lidia and Malcom. We felt at ease straight away and gave us updates. Thoroughly recommend and would book again in a heartbeat. Thank you both for looking after Toby!”

“Used Mollie for the first time at the weekend and our dog Sadie was welcomed and made to feel at home straight away. I wouldn't hesitate to book again. Thank you for looking after our precious pooch.”

“Our dogs stayed with Kat for four nights and we were absolutely delighted with the service. It was truly a home-from-home experience. The boys were so well looked after and clearly very happy when we collected them. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again and highly recommend Kat to anyone looking for loving, reliable care for their dogs!”

“Simply put, Lexie is wonderful and your fur babies will be extremely well looked after and loved and you get lots of updates and pictures. Thanks again Lexie, Dottie will see you again in December.”

“Bethany suggested an overnight stay for Lola, to get her acclimatised before she looks after her for 2.5 weeks when we go away, as usual I got photo updates throughout and never once worried about if my pup was ok. When I picked Lola up she was wiggling and happy, and very calm when she got home, which suggested to me she had gotten plenty of attention and cuddles! Highly recommend Bethany and Tom.”

About: Hi there :) I'm Dany, an experienced, reliable & caring pet-sitter. I have many years of experience caring for pets. Growing up, my family always had pets which we showered with love and affection. Over the last 10 years, I have done plenty of pet sitting for friends, family & clients - from caring for cats, dogs and even rats! I now have a cat of my own who is my little shadow & ultimate companion. Rest assured, your companion will be in good, loving hands. I look forward to hearing from you and to making a new furry-friend!

About: I’ve loved dogs my whole life. From walking my family’s dogs from a young age to looking after friends dogs for the past 5 years and having my own cocker spaniel for 2 years now. I currently work 3 days a week so have atleast 4 days available to love, play and walk your fur babies. My cocker spaniel loves making new friends and loves doggy company. I have a fenced garden and plenty of local walks around and a field opposite my house. I also love going to the Lake District with my dog so would be able to provide plenty of adventure for your dog. I can crate your dog if needed and provide plenty of toys and fun.
“Toby had a great stay with Steven. Steven kept me up to date with how Toby was and sent pictures and Toby really looked settled when I picked him up. Steven has a nice quiet calm way about him and I will definitely use his services again.”

“Anna-María and her partner were the perfect choice for us to look after our dog for a week. They took care of all of his specific needs perfectly and kept us updated with pics while we were away. He had a brilliant time, it was stress free for us and we will 100% book again!”

“Jane was a total star with our two Labradors. We were worried they wouldn’t want to come home! They obviously had a wonderful time. She kept us up to date with what they’d been up to, with regular photos. Really put our minds at rest, particularly as one of them decided to be sick during the day before we dropped them off. Thanks Jane! We’ll be back 😊”

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
