About: I have over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals, from cats and dogs to horses and pigs. I’ve house-sat for multiple families, ensuring their pets are well cared for and kept in their usual routines while owners are away. I hold a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management, which gave me in-depth knowledge of animal health, welfare, behaviour, and husbandry across multiple species. Alongside this, I have experience working in a small animal veterinary practice, where I developed strong skills in recognising signs of illness, supporting senior pets, and assisting with general animal care. I am confident with basic medication administration and maintaining consistent routines for puppies and younger dogs. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I’ve regularly cared for my own pets as well as those of family and friends for many years. I am responsible, reliable, and understand the trust involved in caring for both pets and homes. Pet care is my full-time focus. I run my own business caring for dogs and horses, which means I have full control over my schedule and can plan my days around the animals in my care. Because of this flexibility, I’m able to provide consistent attention, regular walks, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. Whether your pet needs active stimulation, structured exercise, or simply calm company, I can tailor my routine to suit their individual needs.

About: I’ve cared for dogs since I was 8, looking after our family dog daily. For the past two years, I’ve regularly cared for my boyfriend’s puppy, including solo walks, holidays together, and plenty daily walks, even on the beach! I truly love dogs and, after losing my own, I want to share that love by helping others care for theirs. I’m careful, attentive, and very aware of my surroundings on walks. I live close to many beautiful short and long walking routes in the lakes and have both a large, secure garden and a safely fenced courtyard for dogs. I have a flexible part-time job and work self-employed two days a week, so my availability can often be adjusted. I’m available most weekday evenings and usually every other weekend and I’m always happy to work out what’s best for you and your dog. I love spending time with dogs and making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I treat every dog as if they were my own and always prioritise trust, attention, and enjoyable walks! I will make sure things are easy and stress-free for both dogs and their owners :)
“Midge really settled in quite nicely with Savannah during her stay. Savannah is really dedicated to looking after her visiting dogs and is very knowledgeable and experienced in how to care for and handle them. I have no reservations about leaving Midge with her again should she have the availability being so sought after.”

“Jane was a total star with our two Labradors. We were worried they wouldn’t want to come home! They obviously had a wonderful time. She kept us up to date with what they’d been up to, with regular photos. Really put our minds at rest, particularly as one of them decided to be sick during the day before we dropped them off. Thanks Jane! We’ll be back 😊”

“Toby had a great stay with Steven. Steven kept me up to date with how Toby was and sent pictures and Toby really looked settled when I picked him up. Steven has a nice quiet calm way about him and I will definitely use his services again.”

“Ellen took such wonderful care of Tamu, she took her on lots of walks and gave her heaps of attention so she came home very content! She also kindly stayed in regular touch sending pictures, I am very grateful to Ellen and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to look after their dog and will certainly be using her in the future - thanks!”

“Anna was great with narla, and narla loved being there! 😊 Anna also kept us updated with pictures and messages. Narla seemed so happy with her, I was completely comfortable and confident that they would have a great time. Narla being an older dog with allergies, Anna catered around her and was able to give narla her medication and her medicated food 😀 and also gave lots of snuggles. Me and my partner and narla loved her that much we are already thinking about booking again 😀 thank you so much Anna 🙏 😊”

“Susan (and her husband) did a great job of caring for Ruby, while I attended my daughters graduation. Ruby is very anxious and has some health needs. Susan was very calm and gentle, letting Ruby settle in at her own pace and adapting her care to accommodate Ruby's needs and routine. I got lots of updates and photos through the day, giving me confidence and peace of mind that Ruby was in safe and loving hands. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Susan. Thank you so much for making Ruby feel at home and giving her all the love and cuddles she needs 🩷🩷🩷”

“Alexandra was brilliant! Very friendly, great communication and our dog Ivy had a really good time with her :) Alexandra was very professional and gave us total confidence leaving Ivy with her after not being able to meet before hand as we don’t live in the area. If we’re ever in Keswick again needing dog care we’d absolutely book again!”

“Amazing, couldn’t have asked for better caring people to look after my dog Margo. They went above and beyond taking her out on day trips, treating her like part of their family and also providing photos while I was away. I will be booking with them again!! I would highly recommend and I already have!!”

“Fraser had a wonderful time with Flora. She was excellent at communicating and even made time for a meet and greet beforehand and took the time to understand Fraser’s routines and ask questions. Her flat has a very secure outdoor space, and she took Fraser for two walks. Fraser immediately fell asleep when we got home and was still tired all of the next day! I will defiantly be booking Flora again.”

About: Hi, my name is Danielle, i'm 36 and I live with my partner in Ulverston in Cumbria. I grew up surrounded by animals but unfortunately they have all now passed away. The bond I had with my sable collie and my two cats is something I miss on a day to day to basis and is the reason I decided to sign up to Rover. I would love the chance to be able to assist with the care of dogs and / or cats as this would not only satisfy the animals and their owners needs, but my own too. I am happy to check in on your dog(s) and / or cats(s), or look after them for as long as you need me to. I would love to meet your furry friend(s) 🐶😺 I am available most days, and I have a lot of love, care and patience to give, so please don't hesitate to contact me - I would to help people where I can. In my home: I have a fenced back garden and your pet(s) would be fully supervised at all times. In your home: I am available to see to your pet(s) needs as well as keeping them company for as long you'd like me too. I can also stay over night if that is something you'd like me to do.
About: Very experienced dog trainer and behaviourist, with large rescue organisation for over 10 years. Avid dog lover, and previous dog mum to a sassy Daxi called Tilly. Countryside living in Cumbria, with both walks on the doorstep, and the fells a short drive away for those more adventurous paws! Dog got a few 'quirks'? Rest assured, ive seen em all! Positive training methods and vibes all the way! :) I am currently on a career break, so the world is my oyster at the moment. I enjoy getting out and about most days, so having a pooch to join me would be great! I understand every dog is different, so am able to adapt to each individual in order to meet both their, and your needs. I have a mature garden, which is full of lots of smells and room for adventures. the majority of it is enclosed, with some small gaps beneath some decking- however, I am more than happy to keep your pooch on a long line, and supervised at all times. I have multiple rooms, if your dog requires separating at certain times etc. I have space for crates etc. I am happy to accommodate your dog on the furniture, or on the bed if this makes them feel more at ease. I have access to a woodland which is not open to the public, so if your dog requires quieter walks away from the public, or other dogs, this can be accommodated easily.
“Jane was really responsive, and asked many questions which made me feel confident to leave Gyozo in her care. As he is a nervous dog, especially with new people, she was very patient with him which I appreciated. Thank you!”

“Absolutely brilliant. Anna-Maria came to dog sit in our home for the day and our dogs were very happy with her. She was communcative, and sent lots of photos. She was super responsive to messages and really lovely. Thank you so much Anna.”

“Angus had a great time with Lexie today. Lexie sent me regular updates on Angus putting my mind at ease. And from the pictures I recieved I can tell he enjoyed every moment of it! I will certainly be booking again.”

About: My wife and I both grew up in houses that always had dogs although when we moved in together we always felt too busy to get our own. Luckily for us, mum and dad's dogs tended to stay over whenever they went away. We got the fun part of being around a dog, and the companionship that brings, but also the freedom not be tied down once they returned home. Now that I've retired, I'm free weekdays, weekends, evenings, extended stays or even staying at the dog's place if that was needed. Ideally I like seeing the same dog, or dogs, more than once so I can feel they see me as familiar and a small part of their lives. I usually miss them when they go home! We live right on the former railway line which is now a path and so is ideal. I love walking although am restricted to a steady pace because I suffer with ILD (lung disease). I can do fairly lengthy walks although can't go fast and hills really slow me down. This means that a small to medium sized (or an older) dog is my best fit although I have looked after dogs as young as one. Retirement means more availability so I'm ideally suited to being around for a dog when you're busy. I prefer to keep the flexibility that caring for other people's dogs provides, which is why I'm not looking to have a dog of my own full time. The fact I have the lung disease means it's best for me to keep active as much as I'm able and having a dog around gives the push to walk multiple times a day. We have very small garden which is fenced off but mostly it'll be walks to get out and about. We have an admittedly small 3 bedroom house so a small to medium size dog would fit best. The dog will sleep in the living room preferably in a bed provided by the owners. Although this site asks whether we'd allow the dog to be in furniture or beds, I'd prefer to stick with whatever it's used to at home.

About: We've been around dogs and cats all our lives, our own and those of friends: holiday care, taking out for walks, dropping in and simply sharing the sofa. Outdoors, we love walks of any length and terrain and, indoors, much time is spent reading and writing. Having taught in both primary and secondary schools for (too many) decades, we now work part-time and very flexibly. Because this work is mainly done from anywhere with an internet connection/mobile network coverage, we can accommodate caring for your four-legged family members around your needs. Consequently, when you place your trust in us to care for your pets, either Dave or Victoria - and sometimes both of us - will there to look after your cats or dogs. If you just need a wellbeing/feeding drop-in or a dog walk, we will organise a time that works best for you. If you prefer greater supervision of your pet, we will be sitting in your home with a book, notepad or laptop. (We've also been known to do customers' washing-up and ironing too!)
