I currently work locally full time, so occasionally have time to pop home at lunch. I would be most available from 4pm onwards in the evenings and at the weekends, where I can commit more time to caring for your pet.

I have a fully fenced backyard where pets would be free to explore and exercise. My home is clear of clutter with no harmful substances or materials accessible to pets. I have no other pets or children, so my home is a calm, cosy spot to relax. If trusted with your pet for walks or sitting, I'll stick to your established schedule as best I can and would be happy to provide photos and/or updates. I feel it's really important a dog in my care gets to know me and vice versa, so this is a priority whenever I meet a new pet. I have a calm, reassuring presence and am used to reading the body language of animals. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities and I'll make every effort to establish a good relationship from the start.

Let me know if your dog has any particular behaviours I should look out for, or anything that may trigger or upset them. Words you use to prompt your dog to listen or follow instructions would be useful also. Times for eating and how often they like to be walked also.
A typical day
I am active and can walk a dog before and after work if that is preferred. I enjoy playing with the dogs I mind, particularly spending time out playing in the garden and practicing tricks if they know them. There will also be plenty of time to relax on the couch while I watch my favourite shows and craft.

I've been surrounded by animals my whole life, growing up on a farm where caring for animals was just part of the daily rhythm. I've looked after everything from cats and dogs to sheep, horses, donkeys, rabbits—and even a budgie! Whether outdoors or indoors, animals have always been a central part of my world. I've lived with dogs for the majority of the last 5 years, and I love it. Friends and family have trusted me time and again to care for their beloved pets, knowing I treat every animal with patience, kindness, and attention to their unique needs. Whether it's playtime, walks, feeding, or just making sure they feel loved and secure while you're away, I'm happy to help. Katie did a wonderful job looking after our elderly family dog for the weekend of our wedding. We had been dreading leaving our wee elderly lady with a “stranger” as she’s such a wee old soul & has separation anxiety and hates other dogs & she’s very demanding for food :.p Katie was such a star in keeping her company and a lovely calm quiet environment with lots of reassurance. We were welcomed to visit Katie at her home before the stay which really put us at ease that Skye would be in good hands. Then during the weekend of her stay whenever we sent a message to ask how she was doing we got really quick replies and photos. It was so reassuring to know our little lady was relaxed and well cared for! Would recommend Katie to anyone & definitely book her again without hesitation:) Thanks again 💜
We couldn't have asked for a better experience with Katie looking after our dog, Albert. From the moment we dropped him off, it was clear he wasn't just being "watched"—he was being welcomed into a home and treated like family.
Lockie had a great time with katie. Would definitely recommend her to anyone. Katie sent regular updates and photographs which was appreciated as was his first time away.
