I currently work online as an English language tutor, approximately 3 mornings a week for a total of around 10 hours. This has always worked out well and complimented my pet-caring work as the teaching fits well around caring for animals in their homes. However, I emphasise that I work around the individual needs and routine of the animals I care for as they are the utmost priority.

Before accepting a petsit, I make absolutely sure that the 'fit' is right for both me, the home owner and, most importantly, for the animal. If I feel that I can't provide exactly the care that an animal requires, then I will not accept the work. I do this first and foremost because I love animals. I like to make sure that the home/animal owner fills me in completely on what is required to both care for their pets and their home and that everything is in place to ensure confidence from everyone concerned. Once I am certain that I can confidently provide what is required I am prepared to accept a new client.

Information Julie M. would like to know about your pet
Please be honest with me about your dog in order that I can provide the best care. If your pet is usually 'off-lead' in the park and has great recall for you, then consider carefully if the same applies with a 'stranger' caring for your pet. In order to provide the best care, delivered with confidence....I need to know everything about your pets ahead of time. There is no concern that I won't like your pet (I have never met an animal I didn't like)...but, if there is something you feel might be challenging about your pet, then please inform me so that we can decide together if I am the right fit for you.
A typical day
Showing love and affection to a beloved family pet is my number one priority. Keep animals as active or relaxed as they are used to is my main focus. I think that in the absence of their owners, family pets need to feel secure within their familiar environment so, if your dog sleeps with you on the bed, then it will sleep with me - if it has a walk with you at 6am, then it will with me. I take over from the pet parent...I am not there to change or provide holiday activities...but to love, show affection, feed and treat the animals with the same love and affection as they receive from their owners.

Pet care experience
I have many years experience as a dog owner from childhood and, more recently, having done over 50 petsits since 2020 caring for a wide variety of dogs, cats, small animals, chickens and the occasional pony/horse. I adore animals and pride myself on ensuring that pets are safe and secure in their own home while their pet parents are absent. I am spotlessly clean and organised and work around the routine of the animals I care for, while ensuring that the home I am staying in is kept immaculately clean and secure.

Julie also cares for cats. Learn about their cat-specific care experience.
Reviews

Julie was so lovely to deal with and very accommodating. Came to meet us and discuss my kitty’s in more detail then booked for 4 days. Looked after my fur babies and my home really well. Kept me updated and everything was great while I worked away. Will book Julie again x
Julie is a very competent petsitter. Our pets, including 2 small ponies were very looked after and she kept us up to date while away. The house was left clean and tidy and we would have no hesitation in asking Julie to petsit for us again. She is a lovely, warm and caring person and obviously enjoys caring for animals.
We have had Julie to look after our 2 labradors on 2 occasions through Trustedhousesitters. She is the perfect 5 start sitter: reliable, trustworthy, spotlessly clean and, most importantly - is very obviously a genuine animal love. Our 2 dogs took to Julie immediately and we felt very comfortable going on holiday for 10 days knowing that they were so well looked after and loved. We got daily updates with pictures and messages from Julie which was very reassuring for us. We came home to a spotlessly clean and tidy home and two very happy dogs. We really can't recommend Julie enough.
I can highly recommend Julie as first class dog sitter. She was the perfect house guest coming the day before i left so she could get to know Alfie and I could go away with complete peace of mind. She is a really lovely, friendly person and importantly quickly got the measure of my quirky Alfie. I got a wonderful welcome home from him but he then slept the rest of the evening so had obviously had great walks. Alfie had an amazing holiday with interesting walks, runs and trips out. Julie is an excellent communicator and sent me some gorgeous photographs. Julie is completely focussed on the let’s she cares for and has a genuine love for them. She took great care of my home. Anyone booking Julie to care for their pets will be very lucky and will want her back again and again.
