“Gail was fantastic with looking after our Cavachon, Maisie for some daycare and we felt very reassured leaving her, along with lovely Luna the Cockapoo! Maisie seemed completely relaxed being there and Gail was very kind, helpful and communicative throughout the whole process. Would happily recommend and rebook. Thanks Gail!”

About: I have 4+ years of dog care experience on Rover including care for elderly dogs and puppies. I have worked with nervous and disabled dogs. I work at the Galloway Food Hub in St. John's Town of Dalry on Thursdays 11-5 and Fridays 9-5. I regularly update my Rover calendar so you can see my availability there. I care for your dog in and around your home as per your instructions. I give regular updates typically morning and afternoon photos and videos.

“Kirsty was amazing with our big softie Lexi. Clearly very well looked after and Lexi had a great time loving all the attention and belly rubs. Kirsty sends regular pictures and updates which was great. Would 100% leave Lexi with Kirsty again if needed.”

“Paul was fantastic, completely set our mind at ease and our dog Barney clearly warmed to him quickly. First time leaving Barney with anyone else and would have no hesitation leaving him with Paul again- hopefully we will be able to in the future. Thanks so much Paul!”

About: I am a young, fit individual who loves going on walks and spending time with animals🐾🏔️☺️ I can provide daily visits for dogs (or cats), dog walking, doggy day care or at times overnight boarding! For overnight boarding the dogs are allowed on the sofa, and there are lots of toys and balls to play with here too☺️ I have had dogs my whole life, starting with labradors and now border terriers. My own dog Teddy has a diagnosis of epilepsy so I am able to manage dogs with medical conditions well. I have access to a car and can drive to any appointments🚘 If my availability doesn’t suit, don’t hesitate to send a request or message anyways and I will see what I can do. My partner often helps me too if I am unavailable🥰 I currently work full time through a shift schedule. However I often have spare time on my hands during days off on which I would love to go a walk or help out other dog owners. I can also provide overnight boarding for well behaved, socialised dogs. When in someone else’s home I will respect any instructions given to me. I can bring my own dog on walks (if wanted) to keep company.
About: I'm an experienced dog, cat (and giant snail!) owner. I'm a very outdoorsy person, spending my spare time hill walking and exploring the estate I live on with my two dogs. I have experience administering medication such as injecting insulin in cats, looking after senior animals as well as puppies and kittens. I have a car so can easily drive to your home if needed. I mostly work from home and can take regular breaks to walk your furry friend. My work is flexible so I can sometimes fit in drop in visits and walks - just ask. Every morning, afternoon and evening your dog will be walked on the estate, with plenty of interesting places to explore, including hills, woodland and fields. I live on a sprawling country estate in a house with a fenced garden. Your dog will always be supervised and leashed if needed. My cottage is set back from the main road so is very safe. In the cottage they will have the run of our kitchen and living room, with a wood fired stove and sofa. Please note we don't allow dogs on our bed 😊
“Angus had a great time with Lexie today. Lexie sent me regular updates on Angus putting my mind at ease. And from the pictures I recieved I can tell he enjoyed every moment of it! I will certainly be booking again.”

“First time using a dog sitter and our pup absolutely loved it. She went on two long walks, and was treated like their own. The updates and photos were amazing! We would recommend Savannah and Sarge for your dogs 100% Hope to see you both again soon!”

About: Very experienced dog trainer and behaviourist, with large rescue organisation for over 10 years. Avid dog lover, and previous dog mum to a sassy Daxi called Tilly. Countryside living in Cumbria, with both walks on the doorstep, and the fells a short drive away for those more adventurous paws! Dog got a few 'quirks'? Rest assured, ive seen em all! Positive training methods and vibes all the way! :) I am currently on a career break, so the world is my oyster at the moment. I enjoy getting out and about most days, so having a pooch to join me would be great! I understand every dog is different, so am able to adapt to each individual in order to meet both their, and your needs. I have a mature garden, which is full of lots of smells and room for adventures. the majority of it is enclosed, with some small gaps beneath some decking- however, I am more than happy to keep your pooch on a long line, and supervised at all times. I have multiple rooms, if your dog requires separating at certain times etc. I have space for crates etc. I am happy to accommodate your dog on the furniture, or on the bed if this makes them feel more at ease. I have access to a woodland which is not open to the public, so if your dog requires quieter walks away from the public, or other dogs, this can be accommodated easily.
About: I have loved dogs since day one, growing up we had two Labradors, one of which was a rescue. My mum also added a little Westie to the gang, so along with 3 cats, it was quite a busy household! I developed a deep love and understanding of their unique personalities and needs. Now, as the proud owner with my wife of four wonderful dogs, three are rescue dogs, two of which are Thai street dogs, and my mums Bedlington Terrier following her passing. Two of the rescue dogs are reactive to other dogs so I bring a hands-on experience in handling a variety of temperaments with patience and care. Whether it’s providing a calming presence for anxious pups or ensuring playful companions get the exercise they need, I’m committed to creating a safe, happy environment for every dog I care for. I would be delighted to care for your dog, if you're happy for me to help, please pop me a message! I currently work from home, so I'm free during the week and weekends to look after your lovely dog! If you have any questions, just let me know! We have a fenced garden and if your dog gets on with other dogs, we have four of our own to keep them company if needs be. We also have two crates if required.
“Amazing, couldn’t have asked for better caring people to look after my dog Margo. They went above and beyond taking her out on day trips, treating her like part of their family and also providing photos while I was away. I will be booking with them again!! I would highly recommend and I already have!!”

“I would 100% recommend Svitlana for any dog sitting duties. She looked after my little Ollie last minute yesterday and she was so lovely and patient. He had such a lovely time & I was sent lots of pictures and reassurance throughout the day. Thank you so much!”

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
