Safety, trust & environment

I have a large private fenced back garden, accessible only with a gate, there is more than enough room for dogs to run around and play while being totally enclosed. It is a sun-trap and is south facing and lots of friends dogs often like to snooze outside when it’s sunny. I do not currently have my own dog, but am planning to adopt one someday . I have a medium sized spare bedroom where the dog can rest if it needs quiet time. My personality is very patient and I can work with any dog or owner to provide the best service possible.

Information Mark J. would like to know about your pet

I am experienced with many breeds, and the more info you can give me the better, on personality, do's and dont's likes/dislikes are all important.

A typical day

I try to do 10k steps a day and the dogs that I care for love joining me on these Edinburgh adventures, we all love Porty prom and the beach, I especially the prefer the more quiet stretch on the east side closer to Edinburgh Dog Home. I live a 10 minute stroll to Hollyrood Park, both of which are gorgeous places to take the fluffies to, as they are usually large enough to avoid other dogs if needed but also contain wide open spaces and plenty to sniff! I like to stimulate both body and mind, plenty of sniffing, walking, running, cuddles, treats and naps. Plus plenty of cute videos to share with paw-rents!

Animals make life worth living!

Pet care experience

Spending time with animals is one of the joys in life! It started by looking after my boss's dog at the office 10 years ago and since then I have fallen in love with pets. I am often asked to stay over at friends homes to mind their furry friends and I have a complete understanding of how a pet becomes a part of the family. From long walks along Portobello beach, to throwing balls around my back-garden dogs its something I love doing. I love all breeds, and am hoping to rescue/adopt a staffy someday but would also really like a whippet. I even have experience in looking after my brothers cocker spaniel 'Marley' during his wedding (naturally Marley was an important poser in the photographs!) Am happy to be led by you the owner on what care your pet prefers - after all, you know them best so let me know what makes them content, keeps them happy, makes them feel loved and I will do all I can to make that happen while they are in my care. I live in a semi-detached bungalow, non-smoking, with a large south facing rear fenced private back garden with gates.

We had a great experience with Mark, he listens well, and was very considerate of both my needs and Kaya's. His house is very comfortable and welcoming and Kaya seemed settled there. Definitely going to be using him again.

Mark saved the day and spent the day with Albert, my fox red Labrador, at very short notice! Albert was settled and clearly comfortable spending the day with Mark. He asked lots of questions about Albert’s care to make sure he was comfortable and was great on communication. Thanks Mark!

My girls had a chilled day with Mark while we explored the city. They have been walked and pictures of updates were sent . I had great experience with Mark, he even gave us tips about the visit in Edinburgh.
